- Product Care
GORE-TEX® Outerwear Care:
Cleaning your GORE-TEX® garments regularly will extend the life of the product. It will also keep them breathable as dirt and oil can clog the GORE-TEX® membrane over time.
It is critical to wash jackets. Natural oils can damage the GORE-TEX® tape and adhesives causing a peeling effect.
Machine wash warm. Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
Remember to zip all pockets and close all Velcro cuffs before washing to prevent any damage caused by the machine.
Tumble dry on warm setting making sure not to use a high heat setting. Drying on warm will actually reactivate the DWR coating.
GORE-TEX® Performance Shell outerwear is waterproof, lightweight, durable and breathable. It’s designed to provide excellent, long-lasting performance in a wide range of conditions.

The Little Parts — zippers, metal buttons and snaps, and Nylon buckles — all earn the YKK® brand. The Big Difference begins with their obsession to ensure that every individual component renders maximum value to the finished whole. That commitment instills quality and value into every product. Simms utilizes fasteners built to withstand the harshest environments and YKK® provides the best solutions to meet those needs. Primaloft® Gold insulation maintains 90% of its warmth when wet and provides the highest warmth to weight ratio of any synthetic insulation available.
At Simms, sun protection is a critical component of our sportswear offering. Through a combination of fabric construction, design and finish, we offer a wide range of clothing that features a minimum UPF of 30 (very good) up to UPF of 50 (excellent). UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric will reduce your skin's UV radiation exposure significantly. All of our UPF finishes last the life of the garment, an industry standard of 30 washings.
- Great jacket - except no waterproof pocket Review by Chris
OverallThis jacket is warm and it it gets wet dries very quickly. High quality construction that you would expect from Simms. The only complaint I have is that there is no waterproof pocket. This is a real problem during high river crossings and steady rain.

- Not your Average Cold Weather Fishing Jacket Review by Conservation Police Officer
OverallI am a State Conservation Police Officer and I'd give these SIMMS products a 10 if I could. I work and play (Steelhead fishing is my passion) in all sorts of nasty weather. The Bulkley jacket is comfortable and warm all by itself, but, combined with the Guide Mid Top and the Coldweather Shirt I can fish all day in windy 20 degree snowy weather and stay warm and dry. All that without the heavy layers of bulky clothing I once wore. I also highly recommend the SIMMS Coldweather Pants as well. They are not only warm, but they are more comfortable than my sweat pants and they have better pockets and the pants and shirts wear like iron. When not in uniform and it's cold out I wear my SIMMS clothing... Just saying... Thank you SIMMS for all of your outstanding products

- Awesome Jacket! Review by Magnum
OverallI normally don't write reviews but I have to after wearing this jacket. As soon as I got it I did some guiding in 20-30 degree temps. Using the guide mid top as a base layer I was comfortably warm all day. It's not bulky and retains heat very well. Today I decided to test this jacket in the elements. It was pouring rain most of the afternoon and I stayed warm and dry. The hood is a little small but I didn't have any problems with it other than that. If I had one complaint it would be that I prefer zipper pockets to velcro but it's nothing that would change my mind about buying this again if I had to. Plenty of room in the pockets to store fly boxes, phone, etc. Doesn't hurt that you can wear this out on the town as well. Overall this is a killer jacket!

- Dry and warm maybe a new fav! Review by Mike B
OverallThrough fall rain and winter cold on Utah rivers and I have never been cold or wet in this jacket! Fished 30 deg with just a long sleeved t shirt under it and was still warm! It's soft and fits really nice, I thought I loved my G4 but this coat owns it!!

- Rossia Review by Oleg
OverallThere is no torque on the hood. It negates all the advantages of this jacket. Fishing and moving against the wind is not possible. The hood is blown.

- Warm and Dry!! Review by Jimmy Zervos
OverallGuiding on the Salmon River in Pulaski N.Y. you need to stay warm and dry for a long day in the driftboat. The eastern basin of Lake Ontario gets pounded by the northwest fronts out of Canada dumping lots of cold rain and snow measured in feet. This jacket has proven itself time and time again. Warm, dry, and plenty of room to layer up.
Hats off to Simms for another outstanding product.
