  • At Simms, sun protection is a critical component of our sportswear offering.  Through a combination of fabric construction, design and finish, we offer a wide range of clothing that features a minimum UPF of 30 (very good) up to UPF of 50 (excellent).  UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed.  A fabric with a rating of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through.  This means the fabric will reduce your skin's UV radiation exposure significantly.  All of our UPF finishes last the life of the garment, an industry standard of 30 washings.

Separation Anxiety has set in today Review by Argent
Overall
Wow, this shirt is frickin' awesome! I got one in each color for Christmas and have alternated wearing them everyday until today (1/10) b/c the fiance finally made me put them in wash. She was probably tired of seeing me in them. Women just don't understand... The shirt is amazing, you need to run out and pick one up, hell get two so you can alternate.

Amazing shirt Review by crookedcreekgu°de
Overall
I looked at this shirt several times going in and out of fly shops. Its down right the best flannel I own. It is super warm and durable. I usually wear a T-shirt under it and then my uninsulated guide jacket over it when its 20° and I stay super warm! Very, very impressed. Thanks again for the amazing product.

Everything You've Always Wanted In A Cold Weather Shirt Review by Always Cold
Overall
I am constantly cold during the winter. This shirt is the cure. As some of the reviews below have said they can be in a T shirt in 30 degree weather and be fine. Surprisingly this is the case for me as well. This is a durable, warm and very comfortable shirt. I have the cold weather pants, which work equally as well and better when combined. Once you put the shirt on, you will not want to take it off.

I bought this shirt for me but hardly got to use it as my son stole it out of my closet . Finally broke down and bought him his own and got mine back. I wear it all the time and love it.

12 step program Review by Sportzchick
Overall
After reading the other reviews about this shirt, it seems we are part of some kind of self help group. "Hi my name is Anne and I am a Simms Cold Weather addict"
Originally I purchased this shirt for a chilly fly fishing trip for Reds in Louisiana. Wore it every day of the trip! Took it to Montana for a cold fly fishing trip on the Big Horn and ended up wearing it as a layer for sleeping since the furnace was out at our lodging AND wore it every day of the trip as a mid layer.
Warm, looks good, fits good. I'm 5'5" and 150lbs and bought the Small. The sleeves are long but it works great over gloves. Lost a button after three washings but that can be fixed. The Black Olive plaid is not as dark as it looks online and hasn't faded much.
I love this shirt. "Simms Cold Weather shirt I won't quit you."

Best. Shirt. Ever. Review by A Disc Golfer
Overall
Simply stated: this is my favorite shirt I have ever purchased. The price scared me a little at first but shirts of much lesser quality are going for $80 easily. I am going to get the green one very soon (hopefully it won't be sold out at GOP). This shirt is as comfortable as it gets and will make you feel like a handsome lumberjack swaddled in a nice warm campfire in the form of a shirt.

Perfect at 38 degrees with an undershirt when slightly active.
185lbs 6'3" size large

Warning* wearing this shirt and a having a burly beard will cause women to be uncontrollably attracted to you.

Hands down this is my favorite shirt of all time. Review by Drift Boat
Overall
It gets a five out of five for me for three simple reasons:
1) Looks great and which means my wife lets me wear it everywhere, all the time.
2) It's warmer than it looks. The flannel has a great warmth to weight ratio. Not to heavy of a flannel, but for sure is warmer than you would think.
3) The fit is perfect...extra room in the elbows allows for ease of movement when casting...the outer flannel is super soft and washes well.

Order one size larger than you normally wear. I'm a medium in Simms gear, but the large fits perfect.

awesome...but Review by ouzel
Overall
J have to agree with the other reviewers, this shirt is just great, great fabric, excellent quality everywhere you look on the shirt,...but the shirt she don't fit me. I have two other Simms shirts in Med. and they fit perfect. but the medium in this shirt is just too restrictive for me. There is no way I'd be able to spend a day casting or rowing in this shirt, I like it enough that I kept trying it on. I WANTED it to fit, but not to be. One suggestion to Simms would be to post the garment measurements on the size chart, so you can compare to your fave. I'd try the Large, but I've never met a large that fit me.

Best outdoor shirt I have ever purchased! Review by Snakes
Overall
This shirt caught my eye at the new Field and Stream store in Pittsburgh during the grand opening. I did not buy it that day because I was a little leary of the price. The next time in the store I was drawn back to the shirt and the salesman suggested I try it on.
That was it for me. I bought the redwood plaid and have used it on several salmon and steelhead fishing trips with temps in the 40's. I have only had a t-shirt on under it and I was actually sweating in those temperatures. This shirt not only looks good it is also very comfortable. When I go to my closet it is the first shirt I pick out to wear for any occasion. I already told the wife that I want the green plaid for Christmas. Don't be scared by the price it is worth every penny and it will be your favorite shirt also.!!!

Simply The Best Shirt Review by PeaceOutBrownTrout
Overall
I picked up a Black Olive Plaid Coldweather shirt at my LFS for those chilly South Dakota days. Man O' Man was I in for a treat. I have put this shirt through the wringer, and it has never let me down. I can wear this and a t shirt in 30 degree weather and be toasty warm. It is very versatile as well. I wear it at work in a semi professional environment, fishing of course, lounging, and even snowboarding on warm days. I am so impressed with it, I ordered the Redwood Plaid one through the LFS, so now I have two! Drop what you are doing, sell a kidney, and go buy these right meow!
