Senior Software Engineer

The Simms development team is growing and we’re looking to fill the role of Senior Software Engineer. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

The mission of the Senior Software Engineer is to participate in the creation of new websites and operational tools, enhancements to existing websites and tools from concept to launch as part of a cross-functional project team. Working successfully on a small innovative software team, the Senior Software Engineer is to design, implement, and test solutions that result in compelling, easy to use products.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Develop loosely-coupled integrations between multiple external-facing applications and our internal technology systems to support data operations around customers, products, inventory, and orders.
  • Develop custom components that facilitate bi-directional application level communication between our ERP system, shipping applications, and logo production applications.
  • Develop tools to support the product development process through operationalization.
  • Support existing features and implement new features to external facing websites to improve the customer experience.
  • Capable of serving as a model and guide for the team in software engineering best practices by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities
  • Serving as a technical lead, making regular contributions to software design and system architecture for the team as well as part of individual contributions.
  • Contributes to sprint planning and agile processes to help incrementally improve team cohesion and effectiveness.
  • Helps identify and explore opportunities for technical collaboration across teams.
  • Write system/application documentation.

Successful Candidates Should Possess:

  • 10+ years of combined experience in software application development in the .Net programming language, PHP scripting language, and database related experience.
  • 2+ Years experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tool.
  • Experience with frameworks, platforms, tools,and more.
  • Experience developing and operating in an Agile/Scrum team.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A successful track record of leading small-to-medium software development projects is desired.

National Accounts Specialist

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the National Accounts Specialist position. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, the National Accounts Specialist is responsible for providing service and analytical support to our national account partners (Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, Academy, Sportsman’s Warehouse, etc.) as well as developing/maintaining reports, compiling data for inventory and SKU analysis to help grow their business, investigating and resolving inventory challenges and ensuring shipping deadlines are achieved.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Efficiently handle order fulfillment through multiple channels in a timely manner with the highest level of accuracy 
  • Evaluate SKU level performance to make recommendations on additional buys for best sellers, identify potential overstocked items and effectively communicate the results 
  • Diligently utilize and understand Simms’ inventory management system (Navision) as well as EDI, SPS Commerce, Edifice and account-specific portals 
  • Accountable for accurate vendor documents in accordance with company Policies, such as Vendor Agreements and Vendor PPL creation 
  • Maintenance of purchase orders including order adjustments, order acknowledgements and arrival date accuracy 
  • Efficiently balance a variable workload, shifting when necessary to meet the demands of the company 
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism through any communication medium (email, IM, telephone, etc.)

Successful Candidates Should Possess:

  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of inventory management systems, Excel and other programs used to track and compile data for analysis 
  • Retail buying, inventory analysis and/or planning experience preferred 
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, and meticulous attention to processes, procedures and follow-up/follow-through

Product Line Manager, Sportswear

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Product Line Manager, Sportswear position. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

The Product Line Manager (PLM) is a key management role on the Sportswear Team and champions the efficient and timely day-day operation of the category to meet corporate cadence, milestone dates and goals. The PLM is focused on assisting the Director of Sportswear with market research, business analytics, data & materials management, go-to-market process, product marketing, special make-up (SMU) management, and providing data-driven and consumer-driven business tools to inform decision-making. To be effective in this role, the PLM will effectively partner with and take direction from the Senior Director of Product and the Director of Sportswear on all long-range and seasonal line planning initiatives and reflect those in the internal line planning tools and data management systems. Further, the PLM will work closely with the Development Team to support the successful execution of the product development calendar, materials management goals, and milestone review meetings.

The PLM for Sportswear will bring a passion for the product creation process, a positive team-player attitude, and enthusiasm for the consumer to add undeniable value to this fast-growing category for Simms. The PLM for Sportswear is a problem-solver and assists, day-to-day, the Director of Sportswear and the internal Team to find workable, positive solutions to the challenges faced in driving this key category forward.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Execution of all line management activities to ensure internal systems are up-to-date with key decisions and hit established calendar dates.  This role is the main conduit for all updates to corporate Line Planning Tools and data management systems.
  • Assist Director of Sportswear with the operational and day-to-day activities of managing the category and presenting tools for decision-making.  Execute other duties and projects as assigned by Director of Sportswear or Senior Management.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to manage the successful execution of the Sportswear category as it applies to the seasonal Dealer Workbook and global selling tools & assets.
  • Provide the Director of Sportswear with business tools to support alignment of seasonal key stories in Sportswear with the organization’s long-range Brand Plan and Market Intro Plan.
  • Build and maintain visual tools required to effectively communicate long-range and seasonal line planning decisions for the category and meet calendar dates.
  • Create and maintain the category visual line plan: product initiatives, product forecasts, sku analysis, volume analysis and sample management; produce market share analysis, catalog management and price list documentation.
  • Research and extract actionable business statistics such as sales history, seasonal product mix, channel mix, market segment mix, seasonal price points, SKU performance, competitive landscape and provide and present in a compelling way to the Sportswear Team to inform the planning, briefing, and decision-making.
  • Partner with Sourcing Team to maintain a strong understanding of Sportswear demand, forecast and inventory levels and provide concise, timely, and actionable information and reports to the Director of Sportswear to support efficient SKU management.
  • Partner with Sales, Development, and Sourcing Teams to successfully manage the global SMU process for Sportswear to meet goals and dates established by the Director of Sportswear and Senior Management Team.
  • Key point of contact for all product-related inquiries from Sales, Distributors, Dealers, and Repair/Warranty, Customer Service and collects, collates, and presents feedback to the Director of Sportswear and the Sportswear Team to inform decision-making and build positive engagement across the organization and with the market.
  • Drive the greige-booking process for Sportswear and work with Sourcing, Finance, and Operations to meet organizational goals for timing and cost.
  • Champion the successful go-to-market (GTM) process for Sportswear and serve as key point of contact to successfully execute established launch goals across all departments: selling tools, packaging accuracy, pricers, SMS, product documentation, DTC support, sales conferences, trade shows, prelines, etc.


Successful candidates should possess: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in merchandising, business administration or marketing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the fishing and/or outdoor industry with proven success.
