Logistics Manager

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Logistics Manager position. This is a full-time, in-house role based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, you must be ready to manage the entire worldwide logistics process to deliver products to customers on time and at a competitive cost.

The role of the Logistics Manager is to monitor quality, cost, and efficiency of both the movement and storage of inventory, supplies and materials. This position is responsible for management of the entire worldwide logistics process to deliver products to customers on time and at a competitive cost. The role also includes management of all logistics providers, US Customs compliance and Simms’ internal Shipping and Inventory Control teams.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Deliver products to customer on time and at a competitive cost
  • Establish and monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems
  • Manage all importing and exporting shipment processes including HTS code development, US Customs compliance, duty drawbacks, and all other regulatory requirements
  • Improve processes to insure a high level of inventory accuracy, inventory security, efficiency and safety
  • Reduce freight costs to our customers and Simms by negotiating rates with logistics providers and continuing to improve internal operations. li>
  • Create an engaged culture thru a combination of building trust, fostering teamwork, earning respect, and holding people accountable.
  • Communicate changes, delays, problem resolution in an efficient and timely manner
  • Define packaging requirements and guidelines for all shipments including master box size analysis
  • Lead logistics and space planning including 3rd Party Logistics reviews

Accounting Manager

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Accounting Manager position. This is a full-time, in-house positionbased in Bozeman, Montana.

The role of the Accounting Manager is to provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the management team as well as maintaining compliance with financial reporting standards, taxing authorities and other financial covenants.

Outcomes of this role include: 

  • Manage an efficient month end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax requirements via Avatax system
  • Maintain internal controls and identify areas for improvement
  • Manage annual financial statement and collateral audit
  • Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies within the ERP/Accounting environment

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Software Quality Assurance Engineer

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the position of Software Quality Assurance Engineer. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, the Software Quality Assurance Engineer contributes to Simms success by working with a number of teams establishing, sustaining, and monitoring processes, practices, and controls in support of application and system requirements, development, and test activities throughout the software development and sustainment lifecycles for high quality and innovative branded websites, operations management applications, and internal software systems.  The engineer will drive the best ways to manage and incorporate quality feedback from customers, identifying and smoothing out customer pain points in the products, growing as part of a high-quality team, defining the QA mission, and lastly, testing, testing, testing.

 

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Manages the quality assurance activities for multiple projects, software releases, and sustainment throughout the software development and test phases
  • Manages the development and maintenance of quality assurance test plans, scenarios, cases and scripts.
  • Monitors progress of testing and makes necessary changes to test plans, cases and scripts to ensure that quality standards and production deadlines are met.
  • Responsible for defining and maintaining quality assurance testing best practices, initiates and documents processes and procedures improvements.
  • Leads the continuous improvement of quality assurance practices, tools and methodologies. Assesses impacts on related business, functional, development and test teams. Researches and recommends new technologies and methods.
  • Monitors and communicates progress of overall quality assurance activities and recommends changes to the strategies and processes to ensure that quality standards and practices are being followed.
  • Leads and manages data, environment and configuration requirements.

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Work experience in software requirements, development or testing with creating and executing quality assurance test plans, scenarios, cases, checklists and scripts. 3 years
  • Experience in software requirements, development, and testing activities with multiple, simultaneous quality assurance efforts, and a track record as a contributor with providing quality assurance support in an analyst capacity, including tools development and usage. 3 years
  • Demonstrated collaboration on project teams and interaction with project managers, business and functional analysts, developers and the business community directly related to quality assurance responsibilities and roles. 3 years
  • Experience with programming languages and script development. 3 years
  • Demonstrate test management processes and technical skills, including an understanding of manual and automated test execution and performance related tools. 3 years
  • Demonstrate knowledge using version control and defect tracking methods, including and understanding of associated tools. 3 years
  • Knowledge of project management skills, including an understanding of project management processes and related tools. 3 years
  • Knowledge of application software development life cycle concepts, lean and agile best practices, environment and configuration management, and test management methodologies and practices. 3 years

Product Test Manager

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Product Test Manager position. This is a full-time, in-house position, based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, the Product Test Manager will manage and lead lab and field-testing across all product categories as a key step in our product creation and wader production workflow. The Product Test Manager reports directly to the Sr. Director of Product and provides engineering-driven insight, feedback, and recommendations on all in-line and new raw materials and products that are moving through the product creation engine. The Product Test Manager works closely with the Development, Design, Repair, Quality, Production, and Category Management Teams to identify relevant field test parameters, methodologies, and standards and is responsible for publishing and executing test plans that provide timely feedback to inform decision-making.

The Product Test Manager maintains the highest-level of daily communication with our field testers, internal/external stakeholders, and Management Team to inspire confidence across the organization that our raw materials and products are subjected to the proper quality and quantity of lab and field-testing to ensure enduring Simms product are delivered to the market.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Design, implement and manage a world-class testing function for Simms that vets all raw materials and product concepts prior to commercialization & go-to-market.
  • - Successfully partner with the Development, Design, Production, Repair, Quality, and Category Management Teams to ensure 360-degree feedback and insights on raw materials, current products and new concepts inform testing methodologies and parameters.
  • - Manage a database of Testers, including recruitment, rationalizing, communication, NDA, feedback, and idea generation across a broad range of product categories and focus areas.
  • - Research, recommend, and purchase relevant testing equipment required at Simms to perform in-house lab tests against established standards on candidate and nominated materials across all product categories.
  • - Collect, compile, analyze and present insightful and comprehensive test feedback to all key stakeholders and Management to support the decision-making process in the product creation workflow.
  • - Interpret data from the Repair Team to inform and execute the on-going testing of current raw materials and products to support continual improvement to ensure Simms delivers on promise of enduring product.
  • - Source, as necessary and within budget constraints, any 3rd party lab testing required to fulfill requirements and inform decision-making process.
