About Me

A lifelong angler, Whitney Gould spends her favorite moments on the river with her yellow lab, Willa, pursuing trout, steelhead and Pacific salmon. She is on the pro-staff at CF Burkheimer Fly rods and she demonstrates casting techniques at spey claves throughout the country. Whitney is a founding member of the C.F. Burkheimer casting schools where she teaches the skills necessary for fishing and casting spey rods at destination spey schools around the world. Whitney guides on the Kanektok River in Alaska and on the Grande Ronde River in Washington. As a fisherman and guide, Whitney is known for her positive, easy going attitude and contagious enthusiasm. She is the Vice President of the Stone Fly Maidens (an all women Fly fishing club) and acted as a Fly Casting Instructor’s assistant for Northern Oregon’s 2009 Casting for Recovery Retreat. Whitney is a strong advocate for women who fish.
