E-Commerce Manager

The E-commerce Manager is responsible for the business, customer experience and performance for simmsfishing.com and community (consumer, dealer and guide) websites. The E-Commerce Manager will work in close partnership with Simms RDSD, Marketing, Sales, Finance, IT and Operations organizations to achieve budgeted market, customer and financial objectives. The Manager will also be responsible for the internet relationship/strategies for the Simms Affiliate Dealers. The Manager will be responsible for managing 3rd party vendor relationships.

Specific responsibilities:

  •  Overall accountability for site business performance and customer experience
  • Lead review of operational aspects of e-Commerce channel to ensure scalability including returns, shipping and customer contact processes.
  • Revenue and inventory planning for 3 sites (consumer, dealer and guide)
  • Site planning/calendar and execution for three sites to support forecast
  • Reporting on site performance and site business performance (dashboard)
  • Site merchandising with support from Marketing
  • Affiliate Relationships/Strategy development
  • Annual Budget preparation/ Monthly management
Competitive site analysis.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of management experience in e-commerce retail /site management
  • Familiarity with the Simms brand and products
  • Strong understanding of fly fishing and the retail marketplace
  • Experience in Magento / or similar e-commerce software.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional organization
  • Demonstrated success with customer retention and growth
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Director, Sales

The Simms Director of Sales will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability.  He/she will be accountable for developing and maintaining the relationship between Simms and our Dealers, while providing leadership to the North American Sales Organization.  He/she will be responsible for developing product line pricing, sales promotions, forecasting and merchandising in partnership with our Finance and Research, Design, Sourcing and Development teams.  The Director of Sales will also provide competitive product and program information.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Lead the Independent North American Sales Organization to achieve annual sales plan
  • Manage the hiring, territory assignments, compensation, budgets and annual evaluations of the Sales Representatives
  • Establish sales organization goals and objectives
  • Provides product training and sales tool training
  • Develops product, pricing and merchandising policies and procedures in conjunction with other Simms functional areas
  • Manages all industry Trade and Consumer Shows
  • Develops and executes the Sales department budget
  • Manages the Manager, Sales Administration

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field
  • 5 years Sales Management experience
  • 7-10 years consumer product sales experience
  • Strong retail experience
  • Proven track record in growing specialty channel sales, sales tool development and visual merchandising
  • Prior sales rep experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of the fishing and outdoor industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel 110 days per year, including weekends

Product Developer – Outerwear, Waders & Technical Packs

The product developer is an integral part of the Research, Design, Sourcing & Development team, helping manage the apparel & pack development process from ideation through preproduction confirmation.  This includes quality, function, and on-time prototype and sample delivery. The developer works closely with the category manager of Outerwear/Waders and category manager of Packs.  There will be daily communications with design, materials, prototyping and manufacturing partners while tracking projects against the corporate calendar’s spring and fall seasonal launches.  This role interfaces with a broad range of functional groups both within and outside of Simms.

This position requires:

  • Three to five years’ technical apparel/outerwear and pack development experience.
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Apparel Design/Merchandising or Industrial Design.
  • Advance knowledge of technical apparel construction and technical materials.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and deadline driven.
  • Mac proficient preferred.
  • Experience and confidence in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Write and speak clearly and articulately in all forms of communication.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time./li>
  • A passion for outdoor activities; angling experience is preferred, but not required.

Front Desk Receptionist

This role serves as the voice and face of Simms and the initial point of contact for our dealers, consumers and vendors. Successful candidates will provide receptionist functions, customer support for Dealer Service Team and consumer calls and have strong product knowledge across all product categories. Helps build and foster brand awareness for Simms at every customer interaction. 

Specific responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls and route to the appropriate individual; takes and distributes messages, handle queries from the public and customers, dealers, consumers, guides, and applicants.
  • Closely monitor the Simms “Inbox”, and answer and respond to all consumer–related questions and requests via email and/or phone quickly and professionally.
  • Provide back-up assistance for Dealer Services, Sales and Repair Department by assisting with return authorizations, placing orders and providing warranty information. 
  • Clerical Support Duties, include, but are not limited to:
    • Prepares special delivery (FedEx or UPS Overnight) packages; collects, sorts and delivers mail; maintain office equipment; monitors and maintains general organization and distribution of paperwork; may file and type documents for sales staff
  • Respond to requests for donations (email, letters, gift certificates and order placing).
  • Provide basic tours for walk-in customers, when needed.
  • Maintain and stock promotional items inventory, job applications and NDA forms for front desk
