  • PrimaLoft® SYNERGY, is an advanced multi-denier continuous filament insulation engineered for superior warmth, softness and loft. PrimaLoft® SYNERGY is constructed of both fine and ultra fine denier continuous filament fibers. This fiber composition results in an insulation that raises the performance bar of continuous filament insulations.

Fine and ultra-fine fibers form tiny air pockets that trap body heat and keep the cold out. These fine and ultra-fine fibers are engineered for permanent water resistance and create tight surface tension that resists moisture penetration. The ultra-fine continuous filament fibers allow PrimaLoft® SYNERGY to be softer and more compressible.

Amazing Jacket! Review by JoeSteelhead
Simms makes awesome high quality fishing gear and this jacket is exactly that. THIS IS THE BEST PIECE OF SIMMS CLOTHING I've ever owned and its well worth the price. This jacket is ightweight and water resistant enough to dunk your hands in and wrist some steelhead all day long. Simms doesn't mention in the description that the sleeves have the same water resistant material inside from the cuff to just about the elbow. Thicker insulation in the core and a bit less in the tapered sleeves for easy casting and mobility. The jacket just looks great too. And as far as fit goes, it couldn't be better. I'm 5'11 and weigh 168 pounds and the medium fits me perfectly. I fish with a hip pack and consider myself a minimalist on the water. This jacket doesn't have zingers or 29 pockets on it, but that's what makes it great. It handles the elements as good as any other fishing jacket and its more comfortable and lightweight than anything out there. Buy this jacket, you will not regret it!

Exstream Jacket Review by San
This jacket is extremely warm and amazingly light. If you have large hands you will have to get one size larger for your hands to fit through the end of the arms. I wear this jacket everywhere.

sizing off great performance Review by Jimmy
The sizing is odd with this as well as other Simms jackets. It seems that rain jackets run normal but regular jackets are a size off. I wear a large in any other brand(6'1" #180) as well as Simms rain jackets but am a medium in this and other Simms non rain gear. I had figured this out from previous buys so no big deal but may help others. The performance is excellent. Jacket will keep you warm in all kinds of crappy weather.

Dang warm coat. Review by Ken
The jacket is warm. Dang warm. My only gripe is the zipper pulls. They get lost in the storm baffle on the lower pockets. When you have cold hands, it requires hemos to extricate the pulls. Easily solved by adding some chord pulls to the pulls. Jacket pockets should pull down to close. These do not. Several times while wading the lower zippers have fallen open and thankfully I have found all the lost fly boxes. Love the fit and I wear this jacket all around the Bozone.

Polar Vortex?? So what! Review by Scubafish
I got this jacket as a gift just in time for the polar vortex here in North Carloina. It was even cold here, and I spent time outside thawing pipes and getting firewood. I never got cold. It also sheds reain well and has an abraision resistant shell. I'll be throwing midges in the snow and cold in our mountains for the rest of the winter. With my insulated Simms pants under my headwaters waders, I'll be warm and dry. This jacket is a great complement to your other fine products that keep us on the water all year.

wonderfull jacket but sized too small. Review by lattalo
I own probably over 10 simms jackets which fit me perfectly. Then I started to try on this years jackets. All were too tight. What are you trying to do to your sizing? I ended up purchasing a jacket from one your competitors. I am not sure if the people designing the sizing really fly fish. This sport is not just those people who are athletes, but for everyone. This is my advise to Simms your sizing before was perfect and didn't need to changed. No one likes to fly fish in close fitting clothes and if the people who are designing the sizing really fly fished they would know this. By fly fishing I mean hard core year round fly fishing not your casual fair weather fly fisherman. This is just a suggestion I can spend my money else where.

[Response from Simms Customer Care Team]
Thanks lattalo. We greatly appreciate your business and hope this particular style does not sour you on Simms. We have passed your suggestions on to our product development team. If you have an opportunity, I would suggest trying our Bulkley Jacket. It has PrimaLoft and Gore-Tex. That is my on water go to coat. Pretty bomber for any condition.

BEST BY FAR!!!!! Review by Skami
I finally got my hands on the new Exstream Jacket a few weeks ago, and I am blown away by the product. I too, like the review before me was out in 25-34 degree weather fishing for steelhead and it performed exactly the way you had advertised. I wanted to give it a good test so I only wore a base layer under the jacket. Boy was I blown away, I was warm and comfortable all day long, I never over heated or at any point cold throughout the day. I wear this jacket everywhere now, be it the river or to the grocery store. GREAT JOB guys.....
