- Great size - not bulky Review by TroutManD
OverallI have found I really like this pack. It's great to pair with the Headwaters waist pack. I'm 6'5" tall and it really is too small for my torso length but that is actually what I like about it. I can wear this to hold a rain jacket and items that I don't need to get to quickly and still wear the waist pack which rides below around my waist. I can spin the waistpack from front to back while still wearing the backpack. If I'm wading deep I can attach the Headwaters waistpack with the magnetic clips on the straps and it sits high on my chest.
At 6'5" tall, the waist belt on the pack is useless as it reaches just below my rib-cage. It's really not needed on this pack as it is designed to be lightweight and low-profile.
The pack is well-ventilated on the back and the "footprint" is small on my back --- Much more comfortable and nimble for scrambling up and down the river bank than a larger pack. It's the right size if you don't need to carry a lot of stuff but can't make do with just a waist pack.
DEAR SIMMS -- Suggest you make the waist belt removable since this is a light weight, low volume pack and will be too high for a taller person. Also, some way to "lock" the magnetic clips would be great. I have had them come loose when scrambling under tree branches or around brush and they get bumped.

- near perfect Review by ouzel
OverallI bought this to use as my minimalist Tenkara pack. Perfect for your basic gear for a day with rod, one box of flies, lunch, an extra layer etc.and enough dividers to keep it all organized. This will hold that and more. Super comfortable and the usual Simms quality. The only thing I would add is a pocket and loop for a rod tube. I added something to the daisy chain to hold a rod tube, but it'd be nice to have something in the usual place. That's my only complaint of an otherwise super pack.
