- Product Care
GORE-TEX® Outerwear Care:
Cleaning your GORE-TEX® garments regularly will extend the life of the product. It will also keep them breathable as dirt and oil can clog the GORE-TEX® membrane over time.
It is critical to wash jackets. Natural oils can damage the GORE-TEX® tape and adhesives causing a peeling effect.
Machine wash warm. Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
Remember to zip all pockets and close all Velcro cuffs before washing to prevent any damage caused by the machine.
Tumble dry on warm setting making sure not to use a high heat setting. Drying on warm will actually reactivate the DWR coating.
GORE-TEX® PRO SHELL outerwear is waterproof, exceptionally lightweight and offers the ultimate in breathability, durability and extended comfort. Constructed with a woven backer, GORE-TEX® Pro Shell garments slide easily over other layers and offer exceptional tear strength and internal abrasion-resistance.
The AquaGuard® VISLON® zipper is a revolutionary new design from the global leader in containment closures. The AquaGuard® VISLON® zipper's new tooth design provides enhanced fluid repellency vs. coil or standard individual element closures, while increasing the number of design and color options for your application.
- Great Gear Review by FinDeep
OverallI Charter in New England and this foul weather gear has stood up to all of the elements. Wind, Rain, Cold (with layering). I highly recommend the jacket with out question. Long enough to cover the necessities and the best feature of all time, the open clear plastic for your watch. Brilliant. They are light so I would not test them on abrasion resistance but without a doubt my best foul weather packable gear yet.

- Almost perfect Review by Capt Brian Holden
OverallAnyone who tells you that this jacket is not worth the price does not make a living on the water. During the coldest winter in memory on the Texas coast, this jacket kept me warm, dry, and comfortable even in 40 degree salt spray. On days when less equipped guides cancelled their charters, this jacket paid for itself again and again. One small disappointing detail, the first time I pulled the tabs to open the cuffs, the decorative trim on the tabs tore right off.

- Simple and dry Review by PGS
OverallI guide the salt waters of Rhode Island where spring and fall weather can be unpredictable. I have kept the jacket and pants in my foul weather gear bag (always with me) all season and besides being light weight and easy to pack, they have kept me bone dry in downpours and severe side sprays. In a center console there is no where to hide so to be covered head to to in solid rain gear is essential. Several key features for me as a guide were the longer tail length, clear watch patch (timing tuna fight duration) and safety reflectors. I added the pants which are also great. Cons would be as the temps drop you will need layers underneath and I need to pay attention to flies and hooks as there is no real reinforced areas. great mobility as I am 6'2 and both guide fly and spin. Pricey but we'll worth it in my opinion.

- Excellent Review by Big Papa
OverallJust received this Prodry jacket as a Christmas present from my father-in-law. I love the design. The size XL fits my 6'5", 230 lb frame very well. I can't wait to try it out! Thanks, Russ!

- Almost perfect Review by VTMatt
OverallHaving used Simms gear for years now, I'd never really used their jackets, just a cheap rain coat for when it rained. After getting the G3 waders and feeling how comfortable and breathable they were, I just had to get the ProDry. It didn't have the zingers that the G4 had but the length was just for me.
The only negative things I can think of is the watch window and no D ring for a net (Why?!)- it fogs quickly. It's also pretty high up on the arm, so you have to wear your watch loose so it sits higher up on your arm (from my personal experience)
Other than that, the thing has withstood downpours, and the cuff design is great. You do have to tighten it hard to be able to dip your arm in the water without much water seeping in, but a snug fit kept rain from running down my arm. The pockets are convenient, and the hood is so well thought of that I honestly forgot I was wearing the hood most of the time I fished. I'm so used to my other jackets getting in my face and falling to one side, but the stiff brim on the hood keeps it in place over a hat. Also, the high neck is great for Winter when the winds are whipping at 40 MPH and you need that extra coverage. Oh, and let's not forget how awesome the jacket looks.

- Great jacket but... Review by Nick
OverallI've owned this jacket since June 2012. I use it almost 3 times a week. It keeps me absolutely dry here in Ireland. I have also used it in desert climates in Oman (especially in the morning) as a windbreaker and when leaving the Marina early in the morning to avoid the salt water spray. The only tthing I'll say is that the SIMMS decals/stickers on the back and the front are peeling off the jacket. Not something I expected considering the price paid for the jacket. Strangely the 2 logos on the shoulders are not stickers and have lasted till now. This jacket has survived trips to Oman, Mongolia, Thailand, Maldives, Lakshadweep, Ireland and places further afield. Great jacket Simms but would you guys do something about those logos?

- Great jacket...for the most part Review by Jordan
OverallI recently purchased this jacket this past year for the guiding season up in the Queen Charlotte Islands/Haida Gwaii of British Columbia after seeing a few of my fellow guides with them the year before. From the first moment I put it on I knew it was a great jacket. Our fishery is heavily tide dependent and the watch window in the sleeve is a great tool that helped me with timing my movement and position. The colour I bought was 'Fury Orange' and I know most people will say that it is too bright and that fish can see it and what not, but for running a boat, I chose this colour for the added safety of being spotted should something happen. I am actually really happy that Simms offered this colour and I hope more people take that in to account when buying this jacket for the open seas.
My one complaint though is that the velcro tabs on the cuffs delaminated on both sleeaves, leaving the non-velcro part flapping around. This also happened on both cuffs of my Windstopper jacket. I'm not sure if it is a lack in quality of the glue being used, but I was forced to do a quick fix on both jackets with a needle and 8lb tippet. The fact this has happened on two of my jackets leads me to hoping that Simms will have the two layers surged or sewn on future products.

- Amazing coat for Alaska Review by Justin M
OverallI guide Arctic Grayling fly fishing trips 6 days a week in interior Alaska and this coat keeps me warm and dry day in and day out period! Last night it started snowing in the high country and poured rain on us while we were fishing. The wind was blowing steady and simply put it was cold. The coat performed perfectly! I was warm and perfectly dry all night. Simms has done a great job once again. The shipping to Alaska was great arrived in 4 days.

- excellent Review by Dick N.
OverallI used this jacket for a week's Salmon fishing and it was 55 degrees and rained most days. The jacket was great. The hood fit easily over a baseball cap and the high neck helped to keep me warm. My only complaint is that the "handwarmer" pockets should be lined with some sort of fleece for better warmth.
A terrific rain jacket!

- Great design features but got wet Review by Bassboy
OverallLove the fit verses BPS hood fits better, more mobile for casting, , better when it is warm, sleeves fit nice, only problem was in all day down pour, after 9 hours I was soaked. Had my BPS on rainy day before, was dry as a bone except around wrist to elbow even with writst bands
