- Great cleat Review by Jarrett

Overall I just got these last week and put them on my G3 boots. Even though i have only one trip they were awesome. They gave me the sure grip that I was looking for on slick rocks and slate that I encounter on most of my trips. Some advise tho do not just put them on the outer edge of the boot.. I put 3 on the out edge and 2 in the middle of the boot for a better grip.(Posted on 2/21/13)

Overall We've used tungsten carbide chips successfully for years on our horseshoes for winter riding and fall hunting on ice and snow-covered trails, and Simms hit on a great application for fishing. Besides their obvious use on the rivers surrounding Bozeman, the Hardbite Star Cleats on StreamTread boot soles, in conjunction with a pair of Simms wading pants, provide superb traction and waterproof protection while jump shooting mallards. The cleats on the synthetic soles take the treachery out of walking on slippery grasses, ice, snow and creek crossings; the cleats allow us to keep our eyes on the fast-rising ducks instead of on our footing.(Posted on 2/15/13)
- HardBite Star Cleats Review by Chapel

Overall I have had these on the Simms lightweight wading boots for 2 years now. Much better than felt. I have finally worn them down enough to slip a little bit, probably gone fishing 40 days over two years. A lot of rivers edge hiking over granite boulders to get to better water. None broken, and still grip well enough not to need to replace, though will have to soon. Highly recommended. How much does a broken arm cost?? How much do you enjoy cold baths?? Worth the money!(Posted on 11/8/12)

- Great Bite Review by Laxdrewb - Colorado Springs

Overall Great for the bite into rock and rock covered in moss. The only reason these weren't rated a 5 is they have worn out fairly quickly. I mean in 8 uses they have started to dull. If you don't mind paying $50 dollars for good stability then these are your best buy. In the end they are worth it.

Overall When the boots are caked with the gumbo soil from the banks of the San Juan River in New Mexico the Hardbite Boot Star Cleats did not work well to prevent slipping on the slime covered rocks that occur in the vast shallow areas of the River.(Posted on 7/16/12)
- star cleats Review by Dane - Sydney, NS, Canada

Overall I will start off by saying that i love the grip these cleats provided. I have never felt so safe crossing a river as I did when i put the star cleats on my vibram boots. That being said, I only had them on my boots for the month of October and more than half have worn away to nothing. So i got about 20 trips to the river out of these cleats that cost me over $50. I really expected more from a Simms product.(Posted on 7/16/12)

Overall An absolute must have on your wading boots! Especially when tromping through the Steelhead tributaries along the Great Lakes and up in the headwaters of Smoky Mountain streams. Easy to install and a piece of gear you'll be glad you bought.(Posted on 7/16/12)

Overall I was apprehensive about Vibram and slippage on the waters I fish. I'm so pleased to say these cleats work perfectly... I fish a lot of shale bottomed rivers and slipping and sliding was a fact of life even in felt. With these star cleats and vibram I had no slippage and they last! I'm a big guy and expected the cleats to dislodge and need replacing, well 2 years in and they are still attached and doing the job! Great product!(Posted on 7/16/12)
