Overall Streamside, I reached down to use my Abel Nippers (a Christmas present from my son) and discovered the tube to be empty. The purple retractor spring and nippers gone. Until this momment I loved my Simms Retractor.
I do not know by what method the the retractor cord is retained in the tube, but it failed. Extremely disappointed to lose my $50 nippers.(Posted on 1/29/13)
- durable and reliable, but purple cord? really? Review by c - colorado springs, co

Overall the ONLY thing i dont like is the color of the cord, but that is petty due to how durable and reliable this retractor system is. the clasps have never popped open on me like my old zingers and never left me stuck wondering where my forceps went when im trying to get the hook out of the lip of big ole hook jaw brown who is quite ornery.(Posted on 7/19/12)

Overall Durable and light weight. Holds my scissors, clippers, or hook remover very well with the secure clasp.(Posted on 7/19/12)

Overall I've been using the Retractor since it first appeared on the scene. When combined with a Waterworks Ketchum Release tool you are armed with the fastest way to release fish without ever having to touch them. Doesn't wear out after a season like other retractors.(Posted on 7/19/12)
