Product Care

Footwear Care:

For proper cleaning of your footwear to descrease the likelihood of spreading Aquatic Invasive Species, please reference our CleanStream™ page.

If using in saltwater always clean and rinse to prevent corrosion.

Use a brush to remove dust and dirt. Choose an old vegetable brush or toothbrush. For maximum thoroughness, remove laces prior to cleaning. Use specialized boot cleaner, saddle soap or maybe a mild dishwashing soap with luke-warm water.

Do not use bar soap or detergents.

Do not place wet boots close to a heat source (fireplace, campfire, wood stove, radiator, heater, sunny windowsill) as this can weaken adhesives and cause materials to become brittle or shrink.

Dry using natural methods (air dry) and try to keep them out of the sun for long periods of time. Boots dry faster when positioned upside-down. If desired, stuff a sheet or two of newspaper into each boot to absorb moisture. Change the paper each hour.

If you see any mold on your boots, brush in a mixture of 80% water and 20% vinegar.

Over time the use of leather conditioners may provide increased water repellency and can prevent cracking and drying of the leather.

Store footwear in a place where temperatures are stable and normal. Do not store footwear in attics, garages, car trunks or any unventilated spaces.

Never put footwear in washing machine.

  • CleanStream™ is a design philosophy that runs through our line of wading footwear. While not specific to a product feature, this designation does indicate that the product includes features and/or materials that are more resistant to "hitch-hiking" organisms – have less exposed stitching, fewer ridges & pockets and utilize non-absorbent materials – all making the boots easier to inspect, clean and dry faster. All of these elements assist anglers in doing their part to prevent the spread of invasive species. For more information, please visit our CleanStream™ page or these organizations:, or

Best flip I've ever owned Review by Driftless fishing
Still amazingly comfortable after two years of hard wear. I wear them everywhere and they've held up remarkably well. No negatives here.

Great flip, runs small Review by Connor
Pretty comfortable but does have a slightly big arch. Not enough to make it uncomfortable though. Does run a full size small. Overall good purchase.

Solid flip! Review by J Harmon
They do need a break-in period but overall are well made flips. I also have a high arches in my feet so these shoes offer great support for my foot type. I will be taking them on a upcoming trip to Belize, to really test them out.

great structural flip flop Review by randall-fly
the term itself "flip flop" implies a weak non-supportive floppy thing.this sandal has structure and support. getting your foot in the first 3-4 times requires a little wiggling but after that it works great. Having a high arch and sometimes plantar factieitis(sp?) the structure in this sandal is fabulous. do not change this, please. i'll need another pair in a couple of years.

perfect Review by cowboybob
I would have to disagree with comfort least for me...i love the arch support, but suppose some may find it too much.
However, i just wore mine for the entire weekend and like them so much, am ordering a 2nd pair. I had them in the dirt at the house and then down to the river wading over mossy rocks. No slip, no muss, no fuss. And walking in current with the snug fit was no problem.

These rock! Review by 308darren
These are very comfortable and yes they are a full size small so order an 11 if you are a 10. I also have duck type flat feet, and if I do not have high arches in footware I will pay a severe price. These flip flops cut the mustard and look great doing it!

Buy one size larger Review by Dawson
I bought these 1 size larger than my normal size and glad I did. The top strap is tight but will loosen up as you wear these. Last year, I bought Reef XS1s which are worn out a year later. The Simms model has substantially more footbed than the Reef XS1. I give a slight edge to the Simms Atoll in the comfort department. I expect the sole to last a lot longer and wear better than the Reef too. I'm a bass fisherman in Texas and I'm not experiencing any back pain while fishing all day on the deck of my boat. The sole works great adjusting the trolling motor speed dial with my foot. I give the them 4 stars because I would like to have a little larger strap so they don't feel so tight, but I assume they are designed tight so they don't slip while fishing.

Good quality but be aware.. Review by Crosswind19
First off the quality of the Atoll Flip is great! Where it lacks luster is in the comfort area. What I mean by that is that it has an unusually high arch on this Flip. I have what I would consider a normal arch, when purchasing everything from running shoes to buying foot soles for my hunting boots I buy the normal arch. These flips hurt my feet after 15min of standing due to the abnormally high arch on them.. Unless your feet have high arches, I would say avoid these Flips.
