- Product Care
For proper cleaning of your footwear to descrease the likelihood of spreading Aquatic Invasive Species, please reference our CleanStream™ page.
If using in saltwater always clean and rinse to prevent corrosion.
Use a brush to remove dust and dirt. Choose an old vegetable brush or toothbrush. For maximum thoroughness, remove laces prior to cleaning. Use specialized boot cleaner, saddle soap or maybe a mild dishwashing soap with luke-warm water.
Do not use bar soap or detergents.
Do not place wet boots close to a heat source (fireplace, campfire, wood stove, radiator, heater, sunny windowsill) as this can weaken adhesives and cause materials to become brittle or shrink.
Dry using natural methods (air dry) and try to keep them out of the sun for long periods of time. Boots dry faster when positioned upside-down. If desired, stuff a sheet or two of newspaper into each boot to absorb moisture. Change the paper each hour.
If you see any mold on your boots, brush in a mixture of 80% water and 20% vinegar.
Over time the use of leather conditioners may provide increased water repellency and can prevent cracking and drying of the leather.
Store footwear in a place where temperatures are stable and normal. Do not store footwear in attics, garages, car trunks or any unventilated spaces.
Never put footwear in washing machine.
Schoeller® NanoSphere® - the nanotech-based finishing technology allows dirt and water to simply run off the surface of the textiles. This mimics the natural self-cleaning effect of certain plants whose leaves always remain clean, because dirt simply cannot adhere to the finely structured surface, and is easily washed off when it rains.
- Outstanding Review by Fly Time- Marco Island Fla.& N.H.
OverallI bought a pair to fish the beaches of southwest florida this past May. Great shoe/sneaker. Very comfortable, secure, excellent support, best I have had thus far. Before fishing with them I broke them in walking the pup which I would reccommend. A little stiff when brand new. Right now thay are my boat shoes, again very .secure in wet enviroments. I would only suggest that if you are wearing them in the surf, keep the top snug, I did, had no issues with sand/debris getting in. I did wear a pair of thin athletic socks, thinking of getting the neoprene socks for the cooler waters of the northeast. I considered all others, I feel I made the right choice. Also, rinsed them with fresh water after every saltt water trip, dried quickly, no odor, no issues at all . Quality Stuff.

- Get what you pay for Review by Molokaipake
OverallUsed only when wading for Bonefish here in Hawaii. Simms stands behind their products too, so if you ever have any "issues" with this shoe, they will work with you 100%.

- Very good Review by Michael
OverallGood ankle support and good fit. It takes awhile to break in the soles. I am happy with the sneakers.

- Never go on the flats without these boots! They are the best thing that you can put on your feet and they allow you to hit the beach and hike to the next flat without missing a beat.. Review by Edward

- good but with questions Review by eggman
OverallI've worn these on many trips to the Laguna Madre in Texas. Comfortable and supportive from the very first moment with the neoprene socks. Absolutely no gravel invasion. I see a small split in the toe guard but not a big worry yet. They have become increasingly stiff with each additional wearing and no recommendations on care from Simms on that I can find. My fishing buddies wear simple booties but I don't regret going with this sneaker.

- Best Flats Sneaker Review by Tony Gehman - TCO Fly Shop
OverallI have fished in the tropics for over 15 years now... and I can say with full confidence that these flats sneakers are the most comfortable wading shoes I have ever worn! Most people forget how important it is to protect your feet in these environments. The Simms Flats Sneaker is one of the most valuable pieces of equipment in my luggage!
