Product Care

WINDSTOPPER® Care:

The ability to block wind is inherent in the fabric. Proper washing will not affect its ability to block wind.

Turn item inside-out and machine wash warm with liquid detergent specifically for membrane clothing (available in specialist sports shops). Tumble dry cool, or hang drying is the safest.

Remember to zip all pockets and close all Velcro cuffs before washing to prevent any damage caused by the machine.

Do not dry clean, use bleach or fabric softeners.

It is better to care for the garment often with a little detergent than rarely with a lot of detergent.

  • Most anglers have experienced a windblown day on the water - many including rain, sleet or snow. Any one of these elements might be enough to drive you inside if you aren’t wearing the proper gear. WINDSTOPPER® fabrics include two key features to make your fishing experience more comfortable:
    - Total windproof protection. WINDSTOPPER® membrane blocks 100% of blowing wind. - All Simms WINDSTOPPER® fabrics feature DWR to keep water absorption to the absolute minimum - even with lofty fleece.

  • Little Parts from the YKK® Fastening Products Group create The Big Difference for our customers — fastening solutions intelligently integrated with the finished product to provide the highest quality, most durable gear. The Little Parts — zippers, metal buttons and snaps, and Nylon buckles — all earn the YKK® brand. The Big Difference begins with their obsession to ensure that every individual component renders maximum value to the finished whole. That commitment instills quality and value into every product. Simms utilizes fasteners built to withstand the harshest environments and YKK® provides the best solutions to meet those needs. All Simms outerwear features nylon YKK® zippers to minimize corrosion and provide high performing, durable wear. www.ykkamerica.com.

Great Jacket Review by JHfish
Overall
Really does block the wind. I am a size medium in Simms Shirts and got a large in this jacket. Glad I did. I think the medium would have been too tight with a heavier shirt on. I do like my cloths lose fitting though. Would definitely recommend this product.

Best All Around Jacket Review by RichR
Overall
I mainly operate out of the southeast region of the US, so what I consider cold weather and what others may could be two different things! However, I was recently on Lake Guntersville filming a fishing segment and the temperature fell down into the teens at night and the day temps were hovering just at or above freezing. On top of that was a 15 – 25 mph North wind. It was COLD out!

Because of this jacket I actually reduced the layers of clothing I would normally wear and replaced my old bulky ski jacket with this sleek softshell and stayed just as warm as if I would have with my old cold weather gear. A few things about this jacket I like: The Windstopper technology. This was proven throughout the weekend and it did a great job of blocking the cold wind and was the reason I was able to reduce layers. Also the fleece lined pockets, neck gaiter, hood (with the 3 point draw string system), and how sleek and movable the material was. Staying warm is important, but having less bulk on and staying just as warm is even better. This jacket is rugged enough to wear outdoors, but also looks great for a casual evening out. I have gotten multiple compliments on this jacket, so if you are looking for a great all around quality jacket, look no further.
