Machine wash cold with like colors. Use mild detergent. Gentle cycle. Do not use fabric softeners. Do not use bleach. Tumble dry low. Do not iron.
Products using the COR3™ Technology fabric finish have a UPF rating of 30 or greater, properties to minimize odor and outstanding wicking performance for important moisture management. The anti-odor finish helps control odors caused by a wide range of microorganisms (mold, mildew, algae, yeast) is compatible with virtually all fabrics. All of our performance cotton clothing utilizing COR3™ also feature COR3™ EZ. The "EZ" means easy care and indicates that garments featuring this treatment will travel well and resist wrinkles.
The Foundation's Seal of Recommendation is granted to sun protection products that have been reviewed by and meet the stringent criteria of an independent Photobiology Committee. One of the first programs offered by the Foundation, it quickly gained acceptance from consumers for setting the standard for effective sun protection with sunscreen products, sunglasses, specially treated auto and residential window film, umbrellas, clothing and laundry products that wash UV protection into clothing. To earn the Seal of Recommendation, a manufacturer must provide scientific data showing that its product sufficiently and safely “aids in the prevention of sun-induced damage to the skin.” The data are reviewed by a volunteer committee of photobiologists – experts in the study of the interaction between ultraviolet radiation and the skin. At Simms, sun protection is a critical component of our sportswear offering. Through a combination of fabric construction, design and finish, we offer a wide range of clothing that features a minimum UPF of 30 (very good) up to UPF of 50 (excellent). UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 30 will allow only 1/30th of the sun's UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric will reduce your skin's UV radiation exposure significantly. All of our UPF finishes last the life of the garment, an industry standard of 30 washings.
- Some of my favorite shirts Review by Jon
OverallI have three solarflex shirts now. The latest one is the "Daisy Chain" tarpon print. I love these shirts, and where them as much as I can outside of work. On a hot summer day on the river, I wear a solarflex, surf short, and G3 waders, and never get to warm. Stains release pretty easy (although with the white, tough stains can be removed by pre-treating with simple green). These feel great on the skin, and the extender collar works well with a buff to keep the sun out. True to size. I normally wear a large t-shirt. I am 5'9", 195 lbs, and a large in these fits perfect.
I will keep buying these as long as Simms keeps making them! Don't change the design Simms, just come out with new colors and prints (I still can't get my hands on a camo print)!
