Why Simms Waders?
- Product Care
GORE-TEX® Wader Care:
The #1 tip to prolonging the life of a wader is drying your waders. It is important to dry your waders out after each use. We recommend drying the inside first (if damp) and then the outside. When drying the outside you can pull your gravel guards up until the feet are dry and then flip them down to dry the rest of the wader
Washing - Use a front load machine or hand wash. Use cold water and normal detergent that does not contain bleach. Once you have washed the waders make sure you dry them properly start by drying the inside first. Never put your waders in the dryer, the heat will adversely affect the seam tape on your waders and will void your warranty.
Fit - We offer more sizes than anyone, a good fit goes a long way to extending the life of your wader. Make it clear that people should use their exact measurements as we have already provided extra room for layering and movement.
General Care - Do not store inside your car for long periods of time excess heat will damage your waders.
Use A Mat - Always put your waders on using a protective mat to shield the neoprene feet from rocks. The Headwaters gear bag for example has a pull out mat that works great for this.
Proper Layering - Do not wear jeans under your waders. Jeans are highly abrasive wearing on your waders from the inside out. More importantly jeans and sweatpants do not transfer moisture away from the body. Use proper layering (to view our layering collection, go here). Using layers such as these will help wick moisture away from your body and assist in the waders ability to breathe.
Stains - most stain removers will work fine on our waders. As long as the stain remover does not contain bleach you should be o.k.
GORE-TEX® PRO SHELL outerwear is waterproof, exceptionally lightweight and offers the ultimate in breathability, durability and extended comfort. Constructed with a woven backer, GORE-TEX® Pro Shell garments slide easily over other layers and offer exceptional tear strength and internal abrasion-resistance.

- G3 stockingfoot Waders Review by zonker 05
OverallI have used all of Simms waders for the past 15 years and find my new G3 waders an excellent choice. I have an older pair of G3's &G4Z's and I find these new ones excellent in quality and performance. I fish every week in 4 different states and 2 countries and really put my gear to the test.
Only issue is please raise the belt loops up and make the wading belt an integral part of the wader's like my old G4Z's so we don't have to rethread the belt thru each time. Other than that CRUDOS!!!!!
[Response from Simms Customer Care Team] Thanks for the suggestion zonker. We have passed this along to the product team

- Top Quality, Super Durable, You Get What You Pay For Review by Lars
OverallI can't rave enough about these waders. I just got back from a week long fishing/hunting trip to Cold Bay, AK. The weather at CB this time of year while not real cold is very wet and windy (think Forest Gump rain from below), so having the right gear is critical.
Durability - We were wearing our waders 12 hours in the day and we typically were walking long distances through rugged terrain getting to the fishing sites. These waders simply performed superbly. I was sure that on a couple of occasions I might cause some damage and spring a leak, but they held up when others in my group with different brands did not. On once occasion the muffler on our truck came loose and we needed to pull it off or risk more significant undercarriage/brake/fuel tank damage. Due to the weather and location I didn't have a choice but crawl under there on a rough gravel area and work on the muffler. I was sure I would tear something but again they came through with flying colors. Not what they were designed for but a testament to their durability!
Comfort - As I say, I had to do some hiking to get to some of the fishing locations and also to the hunting blinds (Brant & Duck) and I felt like I was just walking in field pants. They were extremely comfortable in all of those situations. I never felt like, "I can't wait to get out of these waders." I think I could have slept in them they are that comfortable.
Functionality - Well, they certainly work and all of the features (pockets, warming pocket, etc.) are very well thought out. I really like the suspender clasp setup with the differences between the left and right clasps. It cleverly makes it easy to know that you have things connected properly when you cannot see that you have straps crossed up on your back. Another small detail is that the leg seam is not on the inside thigh area where it can rub/wear out when you walk. It's that attention to detail that sets Simms apart. One comment that was made previously in regards to the belt is that for me at 6'3", I found the belt height location to be a bit too low. I don't downgrade my star rating on this because I think that is very dependent on body type and it being a smidgeon too low for someone like me, is too high for someone with a stockier build.
Summary - I couldn't be more pleased with my G3 Guide Stockingfoot waders. They fit the bill on all counts.

- Outstanding! Review by Shawn S
OverallLoyal Orvis customer for over 20 years. Finally upgraded to Simms waders and couldn't be happier. These waders are so comfortable that it feels like I'm pulling on my favorite pair of jeans. Just spent a two week trip in Montana and did quite a bit of hiking in these waders.

- Excellent fit; easy on and off; would prefer higher location and improved belt Review by Gary
OverallHave had a pair of G3 bootfoot waders for several years and have had good performance. Prefer bootfoots for drift boat fishing. Ankle support not as good as stocking foot waders with boots, but serviceable for most wade fishing I do in Ohio, PA and Michigan.
Recently purchased a pair of G3 stockingfoots with new Korkers boots. Waders provide excellent fit overall, particularly the feet, are easy to put on and take off and are very comfortable. Fit seems to be improved over my older bootfoots. Only issue I have, and it is a minor one, is with the belt. I would prefer to have it a few inches higher to provide more protection from unintended swimming, and some means to keep the belt in the side loops when unbuckled. Seems like I have to re-thread through the side loops whenever I unbuckle the belt.
If I could provide a 4.5 star rating, I would. All of the SIMMS products I have purchased over the past 25 years (waders, fishing jackets, boots) have been top notch. Would highly recommend G3 stockingfoot waders.

- well made waders Review by trout man
OverallI bought the waders at the start of the guide season here in AK and they lasted until the last couple of days of the season. The seat had started to wear out (I'm a drift boat guide) and I had finally developed pin holes in the feet. I sent them back to Simms and they repaired them for free (replaced the booties and reinforced the seat). I'm very happy with them considering I fished over a 100days in the them for an average of ten hours a day.

- Great... but the flip out tippet pocket Review by CarloRitschl
OverallTook these out for the first time last weekend. The fit and breathability are great, outside pocket is great.
I only have one complaint (and the reason I only gave 4 stars instead of 5). The new flip out tippet pocket is a good idea, but is hard to open one handed. This is because the zipper doesn't run the length of the entire pocket. Since the ends aren't attached the pocket comes up when trying to zip open and makes it difficult to open one handed. The pocket folds over on itself and you have to mess with it a little to get it to open. One handed zipper opening doesn't sound like a big deal, but when you know one hand always has a rod in it, it becomes a nuisance.
I would be interested to know if anyone else has had this frustration or I am just being overly critical.

- Best On Market Period Review by Daniel
OverallI live here in Central Pennsylvania. I fish a lot throughout the year for trout. I used a pair of Simms Freestone Waders last season and they were very good as well. They are still going strong. A few weeks ago I visited TCO Fly Shop in State College Pa and purchased the new G3 waders. I have worn these a few times now and love them. The neoprene booties fit the feet very nice. A lot of wader companies leave so much room in the booties which is useless and annoying. The fit is very nice and they feel tough. Good Job Simms for making awesome products and staying ahead of the rest.

- These waders are unbeatable! Review by Adam Kujacznski
OverallMy first foray into trout fishing came wearing a pair of hip boots on a spring creek at the age of 7. In the 23 years since then i have worn just about every style of wader and more brands than i care to remember. That is until I traded in yet another pair of leaky waders from another brand and bought my first pair of Simms G3 waders 3 years ago.
Since then my G3 waders have been tried and tested around the country. From breaking through ice to fish steelhead on the Pere Marquette to scrambling over barnacles chasing silver salmon in Alaskan estuaries and everywhere in between I can't begin to express how impressed I am with these waders.
Durability - No ifs ands or buts...I am hard on my waders. I have put my G3s through some of the nastiest briars, rocks, bushwacking, saltwater, you name it and they are rock solid waterproof. I haven't found any other wader that is more durable, hands down.
Comfort - My G3s feel like a pair of the most comfortable pants I own. I honestly sometimes even forget that i am wearing waders after a 12 hour day on the river. I don't know how Simms made these waders so comfortable while maintaining their durability.
Customization - I stand 6'5" and weigh a whopping 180lbs with a 35inch inseam and size 13 shoe so finding a pair of waders that fit me properly is near impossible. Luckily Simms provides a custom program and were able to fit size 13 booties to a pair of ML waders to create my perfect wader at a nominal fee.
I know that at some point the abuse will catch up to these waders but whenever that day happens i know EXACTLY the waders I will be buying next. Simms G3

- The best money can buy. Review by tankgunner
OverallTo tell you the truth I have owned many types of waders in my lifetime. A buddy at the fly shop said hey didn't your waders have a leak in them! I said o you are rite. So I ask for the best they had the sales man said here is the g3 simms. I had them for 2 years now. They are the most comfortable and breathable waders I have ever owned. Best of all there still waterproof.
