Why Simms Waders?
GORE-TEX® Wader Care:
The #1 tip to prolonging the life of a wader is drying your waders. It is important to dry your waders out after each use. We recommend drying the inside first (if damp) and then the outside. When drying the outside you can pull your gravel guards up until the feet are dry and then flip them down to dry the rest of the wader
Washing - Use a front load machine or hand wash. Use cold water and normal detergent that does not contain bleach. Once you have washed the waders make sure you dry them properly start by drying the inside first. Never put your waders in the dryer, the heat will adversely affect the seam tape on your waders and will void your warranty.
Fit - We offer more sizes than anyone, a good fit goes a long way to extending the life of your wader. Make it clear that people should use their exact measurements as we have already provided extra room for layering and movement.
General Care - Do not store inside your car for long periods of time excess heat will damage your waders.
Use A Mat - Always put your waders on using a protective mat to shield the neoprene feet from rocks. The Headwaters gear bag for example has a pull out mat that works great for this.
Proper Layering - Do not wear jeans under your waders. Jeans are highly abrasive wearing on your waders from the inside out. More importantly jeans and sweatpants do not transfer moisture away from the body. Use proper layering (to view our layering collection, go here). Using layers such as these will help wick moisture away from your body and assist in the waders ability to breathe.
Stains - most stain removers will work fine on our waders. As long as the stain remover does not contain bleach you should be o.k.
GORE-TEX® PRO SHELL outerwear is waterproof, exceptionally lightweight and offers the ultimate in breathability, durability and extended comfort. Constructed with a woven backer, GORE-TEX® Pro Shell garments slide easily over other layers and offer exceptional tear strength and internal abrasion-resistance.

Happy Now - Update on 12/12/2014 Bad Review Review by Anthony
Simms customer service was very good after receiving my complaint about a tear in G3s with modest use- about 6 times. They were polite, arranged repair, thoroughly examined and repaired the small tear in 5 layer portion of waders. Many uses since 12/2014 problem (2-3x/week) and no problems. Waders are comfortable in hot and cold conditions and easier to put on/take off than others. Since I like having 2 pairs of chest waders, I just recently bought the G4Z and they are great thus far. If Simms customer service had not been so accommodating, I would not have plunked down the big bucks for this second pair!

Soooo disappointing Review by sandy
I bought the new version of this wader in Sept of 2014 hoping to get a few seasons out of them. After a few trips I started to notice after an hour or so in the water my legs felt damp starting in the crotch area. I lived with this until Aug 2015 when i tore a legitimate hole in a knee against a rock and sent them in for the one year check up. 3.5 weeks later my waders returned to me with the hole patched, booties replaced, and many pinholes aqua sealed at no charge. On the next outing I still had dampness starting in the crotch area and noticed that the diamond shaped crotch panel seemed to be saturated with water. I contacted Simms and they are currently back there being evaluated. This will mean that in the 14 months of ownership of these waders, they will have spent around two of those months being repaired. I can't think of a reason why $500 should only get you partially dry performance within the first year. The tear was my fault, but the dampness has been present for a while, and judging by the number of aqua seal spots inside the wader from the first repair trip as well as the replacement of the booties, this material seems very flimsy. I am now in my 7year old pair of WJ waders, that have never leaked, until I get my better fitting Simms back. I am hoping that I will hear that there is something defective with my pair because the performance they have provided equals on of the worst hobby related purchases I have made in my life.

Best on the market Review by Josh
Bought the G3's exactly one year ago, and have tortured them in the wyoming back country and countless hours rowing. The g3's have stood up to everything and still shine every day
Great product for the serious fisherman.

Not what I expected from Simms Review by WaistDeep
I have always felt Simms produced the best gear for wading and you could always count on their products doing what they were designed to do but these waders have let me down twice!
The first pair of waders had to be returned because the stocking foot was leaking and Simms honored their 30 day return policy but I was without waders during the time of year that I needed them the most. The 2nd pair of waders has only been worn a handful of times since last fall and now I'm trying to find leaks in the chest area. Once again the fishing is heating up and I'm having to send the waders back to be fixed, not what you expect when paying a premium for what you thought were a top of the line product.
What has happened to the bullet proof waders that everyone said these were?

Poor quality for money Review by Dan
I live in Helena and wanted to buy a made in Montana product. I purchased the G3 this summer for an Alaska fishing trip. On day two of the 10 day trip the belt loops ripped off both my waders and my friends. Both brand new G3 . . One this first trip both sets developed multiple pin holes. Simms repaired them at no cost to their credit but I would not recommend this model. These must be made for never leaving the drift boat .

Excellent, as always Review by biotstone
My previous pair of G3s lasted 5 years, which is outstanding considering how much I fish. I finally retired them because of a tiny leak on the taped seam of the right heel. They served me well!
My new pair has the same quality feel and excellent fit. But I do wish the G3 were available in a simplified version without warming pockets, zippered chest pocket, and utility tabs. I never use those features, so in my view they just add weight and reduce breathability.

They take a beating Review by Tim
Going on 8 months and about 60 days on the water and they are still going strong. I've put them through the wringer and they still keep me dry. Super comfortable too.

Well built but beware of sizing Review by Flyphish
I am 6'3" tall with size 13 shoes. Bought large initially but returned them as the inseam was not long enough. Then purchased XL which seemed OK fit wise when I put them on. Then used them on the water and discovered the stocking feet were very small and hurt my toes. When compared to my old orvis silver label waders I found that these were 6" shorter. I am sure for the right size they are great. For me a $500 well made mistake. Do not buy these on-line unless you have tried on the actual size at a shop.

Not sure these are so good Review by John Of Turangi
John Of Turangi 8/2/2015
I have now purchased 4 pair of G3 waders. These last ones purchased only 2 weeks ago lasted only 4 outings before leaking. There was no bush bashing in these 4 days in fact I would describe the environment as easy.
This confirms other reviews which suggest these are not as robust as earlier ones.
[Response from Simms Customer Care Team] - Thanks John. We have a 30 Day Exchange, No Questions Asked policy if your waders leak. Please call us at 800-217-4667 and we'll get you taken care of.

Well designed and super tough! Review by Tim
This is my second pair of G3's that I have owned, and I love the change in the hand warming pocket design on this new set. I picked this pair up at the end of 2014 and they have traveled and with me to and from Chile, the Oregon Coast and are still going strong with no leaks after a summer of trout fishing in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. I am hard on my gear in the field and they have held up to my relentless butt slides, major brush beating and wading deeper than I should! The neoprene stocking feet on this new pair seem to seams that hold up better and after 75+ days of fishing on these I am not seeing any signs of separation on the seam tape of the booties. The fit on these is perfect and great for long treks to the big bend. Only downside to these are that the tippet tender pocket zipper design is a little bulky and cumbersome, thinking of ditching this and going trying the zip in dry pouch instead since I am afraid that if I add any tools to the tender pocket, the material on the inside of the waders in that area will rip or tear against the nippers when I flip it inside, has not happened yet but I have been pretty cautious about not adding tool there for long term use. Overall, best and most durable wader I have owned and will continue to buy Simms going forward.
