Credit Manager

The Simms Credit Manager will manage all aspects of the customers’ credit processes and the daily collection of multiple dealers’ accounts receivable accounts. The Credit Manager will assist the Controller in establishing goals, procedures and reporting for efficient and effective credit and collections decision making and processes to reduce delinquent account and DSO/CEI Metrics.

Successful candidates must have:
  • Demonstrated experience working with customers and sales staff
  • 2+ years of high volume collections experience
  • Knowledge of credit and collection laws
  • High Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Sound decision making and problem solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive, self-starter
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred

Sr Product Manager – Technical Outerwear

The product line manager is accountable for the successful financial performance of their assigned product category in support of department and company objectives. The Sr Product Manager is responsible for taking product from market research to design brief and through to commercialization. The Sr Product Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining supplier relationships related to the category.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial performance of the technical outerwear collection, including all rainwear, windwear and waders, in support of department and company objectives and KPIs.
  • Manage the development timelines relating to all of the technical outerwear products.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and consumer/trade research on a global basis.
  • Envision, manage and champion the technical outerwear merchandising plan.
  • Collaborate with Design and Innovation manager to create compelling design briefs for the technical outerwear category.
  • Partner with outside designers to ensure the objectives of design briefs are met.
  • Develop and manage factory relationships for assigned product line categories.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate development of bills of materials and production specifications.

Successful candidates must have a passion for fishing and must possess good verbal and written communication skills and have a working knowledge of MS Office.

A Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 5 years experience in the design, development and commercialization of products. Must have experience working with waterproof/breathable garments, and preferably experience with Gore-Tex. Must have a working knowledge of functional fit, pattern making and the manufacturing techniques used to produce textile and apparel. Must be experienced in international travel and be self-sufficient in working with both domestic and overseas vendors.

Product Developer – Technical Gear

The developer is an integral part of the development team; helping to manage the product development process, product quality and function, and on time prototype and sample delivery. The developer works closely with every member of the product development team on design, materials, prototyping, communicating with manufacturing partners and tracking projects against the development timeline. This role interfaces with a broad range of functional groups both within and outside of Simms.

Key responsibilities:
  • To manage the development of leading edge technical products against the agreed design/development process to achieve on-time, in-full and accurate results.
  • Manage the development, maintenance and communication of tech packs (bills of materials, measurement specs and construction specs) for all products.
  • Utilize Adobe Illustrator to execute detailed construction drawings to relay information to factories.
  • Assist in the development, accurate execution and timely delivery of sales samples 2 seasons per year.
  • Ensure the timely commercialization of new product designs by helping to review and test fabrics, trims and samples.
  • Provide support for maintaining the quality and function standards for all products.
  • Help send out and track fabric lab dip requests.
  • Ability to specify complex technical product material and construction information toward the achievement a target FOB and gross margin.
  • To eliminate errors and delays through pro-active communication with factories and raw material suppliers throughout the entire development process.

Requirements:

The desire to learn and excel in all aspects of product development. Must have a strong ability to rebound from difficulty and an optimistic, entrepreneurial spirit. Candidate must have experience and confidence in Adobe Illustrator. Good verbal and written communication skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word are also critical to this position. Candidate should have a proven ability to work efficiently with external, contracted designers and overseas factory contractors through email, phone and occasional travel (10%). Prior work experience with technical sports or outdoor product manufacturing is strongly preferred. A passion for outdoor activity and the fishing industry is a plus.

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and a minimum of two years experience in the design, development and commercialization of products or apparel retail. A working knowledge of functional fit, pattern making and the manufacturing techniques used to produce fabric, equipment, and apparel is a plus. Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Retail Visual Merchandising, Collateral & Packaging Manager

The role of the Retail Visual Merchandising , Collateral & Packaging Manager will be to make sure that the retail channel is fully engaged. He/She will make sure that sales associates are well trained, enthusiastic about Simms Fishing Products, that Simms has the right POS materials, informational packaging and that both Consumers and Sales Associates have access to information through Simms collateral/printed materials.

The role will create an annual retail marketing plan that outlines programs for achieving the goals. He/She will also put in place monitoring systems that will measure progress toward goals. The role will also be accountable for developing & adhering to timelines for all aspects of the areas of responsibility. He/She will also be accountable for designing and obtaining products/ materials at Simms quality standards with competitive costs and/or target cost.

Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Brand Management and working in close partnership with the Simms Product Development organization, Simms Sales organization, and the Simms Operations organization, the Simms Visual Merchandising, Collateral and Packaging Manager will serve as the liaison between dealers, Simms Sales Representatives and Simms for store merchandising. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in visual merchandising, marketing, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 5-7 years general merchandising experience and 1-2 years leadership experience in the Outdoor industry or with a Specialty or Multiple Big Box Retailer. This position requires 30% travel and some weekends as external events traditionally occur over weekends.
