When you fish in Ireland be prepared to have all four seasons within a day! When its bad, its bad, theres nothing to stop the rain and wind rolling off the Atlantic. After 8 hours solid fishing in non stop rain and your boat partner has stopped talking because they're soaked to the skin, your still dry and smiling.

I went drift fishing with my daughter’s boyfriend and he told us to bring waterproof gear. He wore the G4 Pro Jacket and I didn't. I THOUGHT I was going to stay dry...WRONG! My rubber jacket leaked like a sieve and I was miserable for 8 hours! Took all the fun out of fishing! I can't wait to be able to buy the G4. I won't go fishing again until I get one!

Tout simplement parfaite , je peche toute l année en france et en espagne , quelque soit le temps et je ne suis pas particulierement tendre avec mon materiel.Cette veste est totalement etanche et le systeme de serrage aux poignées est bien fait la soie ou le bas de ligne ne s accroche pas .je vous la recommande .Juste un petit bemol le systeme de serrage en bas de la veste est a mon gout peu pratique et en wading profond elle garde l eau,pensez y Mr Simms .

Light weight and comfortable. I used my G4 Pro the other day fishing in river for steelhead, it rained on me for four hours straight with no signs of letting up, the jacket kept my face and eye glasses warm and dry, but the only problem I had was the wrist cuff letting in water, I don't think I adjusted it right from the start maybe that's why my forearms got moist. I had a Simms WaderWick Crew Top on with a different brand fleece top on underneath, I did stay warm and dry in all other parts of jacket but the wrists and forearms. I can't wait to get back out and do it again. I would buy this jacket again.

No matter if on a Slovenian trout river or fishing the scottish or norwegian salmon rivers and mother nature is showing her moodyness - this jacket keeps me dry and focused on the fishing. simply the best jacket i ever had - with all the small yet so important details as to cuffs, pockets etc simply designed and tailored to perfection. an outstanding jacket which is well worth the money considering the cheaper alternatives.

This last Julyuary was a bit rainy at the start. On one day alone I had to bail my drift boat 3x to keep it from filling up. Everything was wet. My guests were soaked through, things were floating around in the boat. After eight hours on the river I got home took of my G4 Pro jacket for the first time since I left that morning and to my surprise I was dry as bone underneath. I no longer cringe when I wake up to monsoon rain on my roof. I know I'll be warm and dry all day.

I have had a few wading jackets before this and after a day of heavy scottish and alaska rain they have all leaked through given enough time in the consistent rain. this jacket no matter what the weather always holds up and keeps you dry. definitely worth every penny. the pockets are very well thought out when it comes to changing flies, getting leaders and tippets when you need to change quickly it is easy to do. 5/5 without a doubt

When you are pushing back at mother nature and fishing in the nastiest weather she can throw at you, you need a jacket that will keep you dry. I never doubt my G4 jacket to keep me dry when I'm out all day on the water with constant wind or wet snow coming down. Besides, who wants to worry about their gear when they have giant slabs of chrome to catch!

If you are headed somewhere and you either don'tt know what to expect weatherwise or you do know and you expect it to be from bad to very bad this is the jaket you need. I found it to be not only light in weight and comfortable enough to wear all day every day but also highly functional. It had a space and place for all the stuff I like to carry. Having tested it in the most severe of fishig conditions,literaly living in it, I can say without hesitation that I feel confident in recommending this jacket to anyone who needs a really good jacket.

The G4 Pro has become essential equipment and I don't go fishing in Ak without it. We deal with adverse weather conditions frequently. The confidence that is inspired by this piece of equipment more than justifies the investment. The only downside is not having the jacket on when the skies are clear and the temperatures are high. A packable pouch would be handy. I wish the jacket was 2 inches longer. If anything ever happens to this jacket, there will be another on the way as soon as I have cell reception.

Great,comfortable jacket,Good fit and well designed in terms of pocket accessibility. I have to say I struggle with the current cuff design and because of my big hands I have to released the cuff everytime I take the jacket off... Rain and weather are non-factors when wearing this jacket.Kept dry in all conditions..

This is my first try at the Simms G4 wading material and have to say it is well worth the extra money. The G3 fabric is great but the G4 material is in a class of it's own. The fabric is super light, extremely breathable, windproof and thus far, very durable. The extra pockets are well designed. Pairing this jacket with a dry creek waist pack, a long day fishing in damp and cold weather for steelhead become a much more enjoyable expierence. Open up the arm pit zips and this jacket functions well as a mild weather, windproof rain jacket. Haven't had a problem with the cuffs leaking as long as you bind them down properly.

This jacket is great. It is quite durable and absolutely waterproof. I work in and around water all day and have worn this jacket for countless hours. The vents on this jacket make it comfortable to wear during long hikes and humid days. One negative I have on this jacket is the cuff as I do get water seepage when my hands are submerged.

The G4 is a fantastic jacket. It has become a standard piece of weather armor whenever we go out. The waterproof main zipper is great especially when sitting in the drift boat in the pouring rain chasing muskies. The only negative issue with this jacket is the cuffs do not seal very well. If they had the stretchy neoprene like the new Pro Dry jacket does the G4 would be perfect. All in all a great jacket never leave the house without it.

You are getting all that you are paying for. I put this jacket in the bullet proof survival gear category with everyday practicality. There is always a good chance that I might get stuck for several nights in the wilderness. I pick my gear with that in mind. I could go through a list of the features and benefits but you can read those in the description. Its as good as Simms says it is and I bet my life on it.

spent many many days during the summer in this jacket while guiding , just fished hard for 8 days in solid rain for steelhead and was very pleased with this jacket , 100% water proof and she has all the bells and whistles you'd ever want in a tough jacket , you can't go wrong with buying this G4 Pro Jacket , when cold i will add a couple shake em hand warmers in the morning into each pocket , keeps the fingers warm while swinging for fish
