I just finished up my first weekend in my new Guide boots and I just have to say they are amazing! I was surprised at how easy on and off they are as well as comfortable. I have the G4 pro waders and with these boots in combination it doesnt get any better than this. Ignore the cost people because this stuff is amazing and will be cheaper in the end anyway. I put the hardbite studs in the vibram sole and im very happy with the grip! The water was about 40 degrees and all I wore was a cheap and very thin sock and my feet were warm and toasty! Never settle for less my fellow fishermen these boots rock!

These boots are simply bomber, and very comfortable for those long days! Gone are those cold winter days with twenty pounds of ice, snow, and mud on the bottoms of your feet. The Vibram souls grip well in all conditions, keep waters invasive-free, and are made tough.

I work for a state agency. We use the guide boot. I snorkeled rivers doing salmon counts. We crawl up rivers on our hands and knees for mile after mile. My boots were awesome. They had been used a couple of season and even after I hiked in them for over 100 miles and crawled up just as many miles on my hands and knees counting fry and chinook zeros they still looked and worked great. They are very comfortable and offer great support. I recommend the star cleat. I dont think the vibram sole and cleat are as nearly effective as felt, but the trade -off of not spreading invasive species is well worth it.

Fantastic boots! Comfortable, very supportive and a great fitting boot.
Since I've had these boots, gone are the days of stubbed toes or pinched and painful feet because of instream rocks etc.
I've had these boots for 3 years with just the normal wear and tear of 100+ days a season chasing atlantic salmon.

After wearing several competitors wading boots for years I was so happy when I stepped into a pair of Simms Guide Boots. These are the most comfortable wading boots I have ever worn. They are durable, easy on and off and are a perfect fit for my big feet. I have been wading in these boots for a few years, at the end of the day my feet feel great. I have never had any sores or other problems. I highly recommned these to anyone looking for a quality wading boot.

I bought my first set of Guide Boots two years ago, and they are the best fitting and most comfortable I have ever worn…….period. On a long hike into the Cheeseman Canyon, the Henry’s Fork or the West Branch of the Delaware my Guide Boots feel more like hiking shoes rather than wading boots, and stay comfortable all day, helping me worry more about my fishing instead of my feet. They offer great support and protection and with Star Cleats added offer traction that doesn’t let me miss my felt soles!

Without a doubt this is the best wading boot made. The ankle support is great. I added the aluminum starbites for our slippery tailwater rocks.

These Boots are awesome. They are a great all around boot. The studiness keeps your feet comfortable and protected in even the most challenging water. I guide in them on big river water and commando fish in them in small boulder strewn pocketwater. They are even comfortable for hiking out of deep canyons back to camp. The Burliest and the Best boot I have ever worn!

I bought my first pair of Simms boots back in 1994 and it was a hate-hate relationship. All leather, stiff, and no room for my little piggies. By the end of a day of fishing I couldn’t hardly walk and would remove the boots to find battle weary toes, sometimes bloody. A few years ago, I guided an unnamed Simms Rep. for two days of fishing in Wyoming. By the end of the first day he couldn’t help but wonder and asked why I was decked out from head to toe in Simms gear, but was wearing another companies boots. I explained my past experience to him and how I like a boot that has plenty of toe space at the front end so that the day finishes as happy as the beginning. He explained how their boots had changed after 10 years and recommended I give the folks at Simms another shot. I did and got these boots. I LOVE THESE BOOTS. Whether your cruising in a drift boat fishing in Cadillac style down the river, rafting it, wading, or hiking to your favorite fishing spot, these boots are da bomb. I bought another pair this season and they didn’t disappoint. Because of the leather nature of these boots, the wet/dry cycle from fishing trips did cause these boots to shrink……after three years of very hard guide use. Much longer life than any other brand boot I have used since 1994 and used much harder than is probably typical. It’s good to be back in a pair of Simms boots!!

This is my fourth pair of guide boots but the first with the Vibram sole. The nes style guide boot is the most comfortable. The boot slides over your wader foot dry or wet. What I really dislike is the Vibram sole. Even with the carbide star cleats the sole is unstable on slippery rocks. The sole has very little flex so it does not wrap around the rock. The cleats on the Vibram sole need to be deeper to the sole can catch on the rocks. I have personally resorted to another brand of boot.
