- Product Care
GORE-TEX® Outerwear Care:
Cleaning your GORE-TEX® garments regularly will extend the life of the product. It will also keep them breathable as dirt and oil can clog the GORE-TEX® membrane over time.
It is critical to wash jackets. Natural oils can damage the GORE-TEX® tape and adhesives causing a peeling effect.
Machine wash warm. Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
Remember to zip all pockets and close all Velcro cuffs before washing to prevent any damage caused by the machine.
Tumble dry on warm setting making sure not to use a high heat setting. Drying on warm will actually reactivate the DWR coating.
GORE-TEX® PRO SHELL outerwear is waterproof, exceptionally lightweight and offers the ultimate in breathability, durability and extended comfort. Constructed with a woven backer, GORE-TEX® Pro Shell garments slide easily over other layers and offer exceptional tear strength and internal abrasion-resistance.
The AquaGuard® VISLON® zipper is a revolutionary new design from the global leader in containment closures. The AquaGuard® VISLON® zipper's new tooth design provides enhanced fluid repellency vs. coil or standard individual element closures, while increasing the number of design and color options for your application.
- I love this jacket Review by Greasy Beaks Ambassador
OverallI was on my third guide jacket in 10 yrs and decided to make a change. This new Slick jacket is so low profile, yet the burliest water shedding fishing shell I have ever worn. I bought the Black one because it would absorb as much sun as possible and spook less fish then the colored version. I find this jacket extremely warm and the 2 big chest pockets are perfect for stashing large items. I also like the mesh dividers inside. I am totally impressed with this Jacket and was rapping with anglers on the river the other day about how great it is and what they thought of theirs. All the reviews were positive : )

- Exactly what I was waiting for. Review by Cmoore
OverallThis is my first Simms jacket but I've wanted one for a few years now for winter red fishing. I'm 6'4" so I really wasn't fond of the shorter cut river style jackets. I'm a minimalist by nature so the huge chest pockets on the other jackets we're pretty much useless to me. But...if I need a large pocket this jacket has plenty to offer only with a more integrated style. If you fish saltwater and don't need your jacket to double as a travel pack check this jacket out. Thanks SIMMS!

- Needs a tweak or two... Review by Mark N
OverallI bought this jacket (size XXL) to accommodate my large steelhead boxes and to obtain a little more freedom of movement than my old G3 XL provided. I've now had a chance to wear it for a week on the Dean and have noticed a couple of things. First, the internal cuffs are a bit frustrating. I get that Simms wants this jacket to have a clean, around-the-town look but the tightening straps are awkward. Second, the hood on this jacket doesn't seem long enough. When I put it up it would squash my cap down into my sunglasses and I kept pulling on it to try and find some comfort. Granted, I am 6'6" tall and someone shorter might not have this problem, but it's real frustrating when you shell out $500 for a garment. Besides, when you make a garment in XXL everything should be a bit bigger/longer right?
Overall, it's a good jacket. I like the pass-through pocket to allow wader access and the way the larger pockets bellow in so as not to interfere with my two-handed casting. I do miss the microfleece lining on the handwarmer pockets though. On those cold days on the Bulkley it's nice to slide your free hand in to warm up a tad.

- Sleeve holes too small Review by J Berg
OverallLet me say I loved this jacket before putting it on. It's a work horse.
But the fit around the sleeve holes at the shoulders are too small and high. I am 5' 9", 160lbs. The small fits everywhere but the sleeve holes. Ugh!
Simms, I love this jacket. Any way to make the small with bigger sleeve holes?
