- Product Care
For proper cleaning of your footwear to descrease the likelihood of spreading Aquatic Invasive Species, please reference our CleanStream™ page.
If using in saltwater always clean and rinse to prevent corrosion.
Use a brush to remove dust and dirt. Choose an old vegetable brush or toothbrush. For maximum thoroughness, remove laces prior to cleaning. Use specialized boot cleaner, saddle soap or maybe a mild dishwashing soap with luke-warm water.
Do not use bar soap or detergents.
Do not place wet boots close to a heat source (fireplace, campfire, wood stove, radiator, heater, sunny windowsill) as this can weaken adhesives and cause materials to become brittle or shrink.
Dry using natural methods (air dry) and try to keep them out of the sun for long periods of time. Boots dry faster when positioned upside-down. If desired, stuff a sheet or two of newspaper into each boot to absorb moisture. Change the paper each hour.
If you see any mold on your boots, brush in a mixture of 80% water and 20% vinegar.
Over time the use of leather conditioners may provide increased water repellency and can prevent cracking and drying of the leather.
Store footwear in a place where temperatures are stable and normal. Do not store footwear in attics, garages, car trunks or any unventilated spaces.
Never put footwear in washing machine.

- Next pair of stream treads Review by Kevin
OverallI got online to order my next pair of sandals and read the reviews to see what others have experienced. Previously, I was committed to another major player in the Vibram soled water shoe market. In addition to fishing the big water found locally, I spend many days working smaller water, staying in the water all day. My current pair of Stream Tread sandals, still working fine, have gone two and a half seasons without failure. The separation of the sole from the upper that I experience with another brand has yet to happen. Wading small water, walking a drift boat along a run, or jumping from the boat to the water have all been accomplished without bolts, so I cannot speak to that review. I can say that the sandals have provided as much stability in slippery water as one can expect and outlasted all other sandals I have tried. I understand the disappointment of a shock cord breaking early, but I have worked these sandals hard without major structural failure, and that is what is bringing me back.

- StreamTread Review Review by Tanner
OverallBought the sandals from my favorite local fly shop. Two days into the ownership the elastic draw string broke free from its top anchor. It was a simple enough at home fix to repair the malfunctioned piece but I must say I expect higher quality out of Simms. I have, and will support Simms until I can fish no more yet it has left a slightly sour taste in my palet. All I can say to Simms is you may think to step game your game up so that the people that rep your gear continue to do so.

- River sandal experience Review by David
OverallJust back from five days fishing the stonefly hatch on the Deschutes. Used the Simms river sandals for the first two days then had to stop and put on the wading boots. I had attached stream Simms cleats to the sandals as advertised but soon found that the screws began penetrating the sole of the sandal especially on the ball and heal of the foot. The sole is too thin to accept the Simms cleats and while the traction they afforded was excellent, the pain developing in my feet was not worth it. I weigh 200lbs by the way and the sandals are size 10. Got home and have removed the cleats, so now I have a pair of sandals that admittedly have good rubber soles but not really what I was needing for the slick surfaces encountered in our local Oregon rivers. Disappointing.

- Favorite Sandals Review by cbrehm
OverallI have the Pursuit sandals, which are great but, they are heavy and not very attrative to wear to the farmers market. I next went with the North Face Hedgefrogs which were light and nice looking but, they did not wear very well. Then I found the StreamTreads. They are by far the best sandals I have ever owned. I wear the brown ones everywhere when the weather permits. I just ordered the grey ones for the beach. One note, I wear 1/2 size smaller in the sandals. Not sure why, but wanted to mention it. Try them on first.

- Stick to a rock Review by Cutthroat Man
OverallI work as a guide in Colorado in the summer but also try to get in a lot of fishing on my own (!). I purchased the Stream Tread Sandals this past summer and used them on a dozen or so occasions, including several backpacking trips (that is the principal function I had in mind for them due to the light weight and compact size). I initially used them without cleats and was amazed at how stable they were. But then, on the recommendation of a fellow guide, I added Hardbite cleats and was even more astounded at how sturdy they make one feel, even in the "slickest" of wading circumstances. And when paired with the excellent Simms neoprene wading socks one is as warm as toast, even in 40 degree water. I'll be using this fine pair of products in New Zealand, wading wet, in November. I am very impressed, and pleased. Congratulations, Simms!

- great river shoe Review by Captain Austin
OverallThis is the best river shoe that I have owned. After using it in the river and on my boats. The shoe never let me down. No slipping on rocks, No shoe scuffs on boat decks. The comfort level is outstanding my feet never hurt after a day wearing them. Even worn wet to soccer practice with the kids it stood up to the demands. I gave these shoes a 4 rating for the sole fact that towards the end of the season I had some wicked cool looking tan marks on the top of my feet.
