- Product Care
For proper cleaning of your footwear to descrease the likelihood of spreading Aquatic Invasive Species, please reference our CleanStream™ page.
If using in saltwater always clean and rinse to prevent corrosion.
Use a brush to remove dust and dirt. Choose an old vegetable brush or toothbrush. For maximum thoroughness, remove laces prior to cleaning. Use specialized boot cleaner, saddle soap or maybe a mild dishwashing soap with luke-warm water.
Do not use bar soap or detergents.
Do not place wet boots close to a heat source (fireplace, campfire, wood stove, radiator, heater, sunny windowsill) as this can weaken adhesives and cause materials to become brittle or shrink.
Dry using natural methods (air dry) and try to keep them out of the sun for long periods of time. Boots dry faster when positioned upside-down. If desired, stuff a sheet or two of newspaper into each boot to absorb moisture. Change the paper each hour.
If you see any mold on your boots, brush in a mixture of 80% water and 20% vinegar.
Over time the use of leather conditioners may provide increased water repellency and can prevent cracking and drying of the leather.
Store footwear in a place where temperatures are stable and normal. Do not store footwear in attics, garages, car trunks or any unventilated spaces.
Never put footwear in washing machine.
CleanStream™ is a design philosophy that runs through our line of wading footwear. While not specific to a product feature, this designation does indicate that the product includes features and/or materials that are more resistant to "hitch-hiking" organisms – have less exposed stitching, fewer ridges & pockets and utilize non-absorbent materials – all making the boots easier to inspect, clean and dry faster. All of these elements assist anglers in doing their part to prevent the spread of invasive species. For more information, please visit our CleanStream™ page or these organizations: www.cleanangling.org, www.protectyourwaters.net or www.tu.org.
The STREAMTREAD™ platform is designed for the angling enthusiast looking for all-round, heavy-duty wading footwear. All the styles that feature the STREAMTREAD™ platform have been proividing our faithful with years of reliable, trustworthy wading confidence. The die-cut footbed offers a sturdy, wading-reading deck and the molded TPU heel clip offers secure heel-hold & lateral stability for all day wading security. Die-cut and molded single density EVA midsole creates cushioning for all day wading comfort. Die-cut, full coverage TPU retention plate allows for maximum rigidity and cleat retention for heavy duty wading. All of this wrapped in a molded VIBRAM® IDROGRIP® rubber outsole with 3MM multi-directional lugs for slip resistance in water and toe protection. Also available in a 12mm Felt outsole.
Vibram® soles are built from the bottom up and are designed to overcome very specific obstacles on a variety of terrains. - almost perfect Review by salmon nut
Overallbought these boots in spring and used them twice. now that it's salmon season i've been in them another 8 or 9 times in the past 2 months. i love everything about these boots! super comfy and light. i dig the rubber rand around the whole boot. great for hiking up the river and wading BUT to my dismay after less than 12 uses the rubber sole has begun to peel off at the toe. i'm sure simms will be good about fixing/replacing them but it's prime coho time and i can't afford to be without these babies shipping them off for several weeks. guess i'll try to find a window to ship back when the action slows down. so i'm giving 3 stars cause they delaminated so qiuckly but everything else about the boot rocks.

- Very good boot Review by Rick
OverallThe best wading boot I have worn. Easy walking & comfortable. In my second year with the Rivershed boot and they are holding up well. I was initially concerned about moving away from felt but the vibram bottom is holding well even on the tricky bottom of the Schuylkill River. More quality & value over other top line boots I have owned.

- Great Boot; Great Value Review by Fishing Guy
OverallI am only on the water 50-60 days per year, many of which are in a boat. But i wear boots every time I am out because you never know if you're going to get into a situation where they may be needed.
Every day i wear these, they provide great traction, stability and support. On top of it, they're incredibly comfortable and durable.
Highly recommend these to anyone thinking about new fishing boots!

- Light weight and durable Review by Ryan
OverallLight weight and durable. I am going on my 3rd season with these and have not had a problem. Great if you need to hike around and be mobile. One thing I've noticed with other wading boots is that after years of getting wet and drying over and over, the boots will shrink and harden, these have not done this. I've gone through a couple pairs of laces, but that's expected.

- never look back Review by Utahn
OverallI reluctantly switched from felt to these boots with studs. I fish year round and got tired of hauling 10lbs. of snow in the winter and moss in the summer. So I found my self looking for another option. My first and formost worry were the muscles that my felt soles could carry. My local fly shop recomended these to me. Yes you could pay less for another boot but you wouldn't have the protection for the ankle and toe (which the older I get seems to come into play more often.) Plus the added grip from the studs. They don't grip as well in some situations as my felt soles but in others they grip better. I found that I had to re-train my self how to approch the moss and rocks but in the end I have loved these and will never look back. Thanks Simms!!

- Rivershed Boot Review by I Perez
OverallThese boots are bomb proof, I'm about to order my second pair. But the first pair have been phenom. I have walked all over the Western U.S. and all over countless rivers in NZ with these boots. You will go through several pairs of laces before you get these boots down. I have put an average 120 days a year on the water the last two years I've had these boots and I couldn't be happier.

- Wear Out QUICKLY Review by FrankB
OverallI bought felt bottom Riversheds, and the felt held up for a couple of years. The vinyl trim around the top wore away very quickly. I purchased another pair with Vibram soles, and the Vibram is peeling away from the midsole after just 4 months. The Vibram grips nicely, but the lugs are wearing down rapidly. The boot itself provides great support, but needs to be contructed in a manner that reflects the retail cost. I'd like to rate the boots at 2.5, but the system doesn't allow that. Great design, but they need better construction.

- Best wading boot out there! Review by Akbackcountry
OverallThese are the toughest most comfortable wading boots I've ever owned, as a fishing guide and avid hunter in Alaska I have put these boots through the ultimate test, extremely comfortable to be in all day long and as tough as they get. I'll never buy a different pair of wading boots.
