Why Simms Waders
- Product Care
GORE-TEX® Wader Care:
The #1 tip to prolonging the life of a wader is drying your waders. It is important to dry your waders out after each use. We recommend drying the inside first (if damp) and then the outside. When drying the outside you can pull your gravel guards up until the feet are dry and then flip them down to dry the rest of the wader
Washing - Use a front load machine or hand wash. Use cold water and normal detergent that does not contain bleach. Once you have washed the waders make sure you dry them properly start by drying the inside first. Never put your waders in the dryer, the heat will adversely affect the seam tape on your waders and will void your warranty.
Fit - We offer more sizes than anyone, a good fit goes a long way to extending the life of your wader. Make it clear that people should use their exact measurements as we have already provided extra room for layering and movement.
General Care - Do not store inside your car for long periods of time excess heat will damage your waders.
Use A Mat - Always put your waders on using a protective mat to shield the neoprene feet from rocks. The Headwaters gear bag for example has a pull out mat that works great for this.
Proper Layering - Do not wear jeans under your waders. Jeans are highly abrasive wearing on your waders from the inside out. More importantly jeans and sweatpants do not transfer moisture away from the body. Use proper layering (to view our layering collection, go here). Using layers such as these will help wick moisture away from your body and assist in the waders ability to breathe.
Stains - most stain removers will work fine on our waders. As long as the stain remover does not contain bleach you should be o.k.
The GORE-TEX® membrane is the heart of all GORE -TEX® products. The GORE-TEX® membrane contains 9 billion microscopic pores per square inch. These pores are so small that water droplets cannot get through but water vapor can still escape. Water from the outside cannot penetrate and cold winds cannot pass through, but perspiration can escape easily, keeping you dry and comfortable all day. GORE-TEX® fabrics are created by integrating the GORE-TEX® membrane between an outer fabric and lining.

- Bullet Proof!! Review by Brandon
OverallWow I cannot believe how tough these waders are! I was expecting leaks in the first couple of years but no leaks after 5 years is impressive. Lower price waders leak or wear out after 1 to 2 years. These are an investment in dry, comfort, and durability and well worth the money.

- First pair of Simms waders, definitely impressed!!! Review by Scott from So IL
OverallI just came back from a trip having used my first pair ever of Simms waders. I have to say, I am extremely impressed with both the fit and quality of these waders. The stocking foot booties fit better than expected and were comfortable throughout a long day's fishing excursion.
I was also impressed by the weight and feel of the wader material. These waders just feel more substantial than the imports I have worn in the past. The Gore Tex fabric did a great job of allowing the wader to breathe as afternoon temperatures climbed.
My only knock on these waders is that I wish Simms would upgrade the wader belt to the neoprene model.
I'm glad to be able to buy an American made product that I have confidence will serve me well for many more years to come!

- Solid, comfortable, hard working Review by AK Joel
OverallI've been fishing these waders now for about 2 months here on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. I'm blown away at how they shed and keep out water. They are comfortable, and the sizing guide is good. Do heed the warnings you hear about not being shy about your size; get what the guide says!
The only thing missing from this bomber wader is a waterproof pocket. I also wish the handwarmer pocket could be deeper, or have a higher bottom lip to keep my small bead boxes from falling out.
The leader pockets are perfect, and have come in handy more often than I could have imagined after watching salmon and feisty steelies strip and rip line!
The booties are very comfortable, and I can stand in those waders for more than 12 hours (thanks to the matching Simms boots, mind you).
There's more season to come, and I've been nearly living in these waders for the last couple of weeks.

- Awesome Service Review by rws1560
OverallI bought my G3 Waders in 2003. I sent them back for replacement of the suspenders. Also had the first leak in a one of the boots. $40.00 to repair them. Replacing the feet under warrantee! After 10 years! I fished these waders a lot. From Alaska to New Mexico, From Pennsylvania to Georgia, and many places in between. I was looking to buy a pair of waist high waders. They will be Simms and nothing else. Before the G3's I was buying a pair of $100.00 waders once sometimes twice a year. Buy the Simms they are worth it over time.

- Great Fit Review by Kyle
OverallGot my first pair of Simms Waders and they fit great. Waders I have owned in the past always have way too much material in the legs. The articulated legs on the G3 make a world of difference when I am rowing.

- Proven Quality, Comfort and Durability Review by Gary
OverallI have fished Simms G3's for years in lots of places. They are the last piece on fly fishing gear I would part with.

- Worth the $$$ Review by BB
OverallHave to admit that I was a little skeptical about dropping $500 (price with tax and shipping) on a pair of waders, but after 2 full days on the Salmon River I am a believer. I fish the DSR which requires a lot of hiking; the fit of these waders make covering the river so much easier.
Wish I bought them a year ago instead of the cheapo "big box" store brand waders that cost $100, were uncomfortable as hell and lasted for about 30 days of fishing!
