- Product Care
GORE-TEX® Outerwear Care:
Cleaning your GORE-TEX® garments regularly will extend the life of the product. It will also keep them breathable as dirt and oil can clog the GORE-TEX® membrane over time.
It is critical to wash jackets. Natural oils can damage the GORE-TEX® tape and adhesives causing a peeling effect.
Machine wash warm. Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
Remember to zip all pockets and close all Velcro cuffs before washing to prevent any damage caused by the machine.
Tumble dry on warm setting making sure not to use a high heat setting. Drying on warm will actually reactivate the DWR coating.
GORE-TEX® Performance Shell outerwear is waterproof, lightweight, durable and breathable. It’s designed to provide excellent, long-lasting performance in a wide range of conditions.

- Saved a trip Review by MNTrout
OverallI had a client out the other morning and it rained for the whole trip. This jacket kept me dry and did not retain any water. It stayed light weight and very comfortable all morning long. It is an all around comfortable, great jacket to throw flies in all types of weather.

- This is THE Jacket Review by Jerry Hubka
OverallDuring the few weeks I have owned this Jacket, it has amazed me several times! From fishing in the snow on the Frying Pan and swinging streamers on the North Platte, to running my snowblower, it has shown me what a light weight, waterproof jacket is supposed to be. I will be purchasing another one and putting both of them to good use. One in my fishing gear bag and the other one for work around the acerage during cold and rainy weather. My fishing buddy recommended this jacket to me after he has spent three years wearing it during Silver Salmon fishing on the Copper River System in Alaska. His recommendation was 100% correct… "Jerry, I'm not taking you with me until you get this jacket, you will never regret it…" right on Simms!

- Great jacket, but......... Review by Cabinetpro
OverallI wish the hood could be rolled up and stowed in the collar for those days when it's just misting. I find the interior of the hood is somewhat exposed when laying on my back and is damp when I eventually put it on. Otherwise jacket is a definite 5 stars. Worth every cent!

- Dry and Smiling Review by Conor
OverallI wore this jacket almost daily while in Alaska over the summer and fall. It saw everything from drizzle to wet and heavy snow, never once was I wet.
The coat is loaded with features. I loved the highly adjustable hood, which can be tweaked so it doesn't impede vision. The cuffs were a little small in that it was tough to get to a bulky watch, but they cinched down well enough to stick my hands in the river and keep my wrists dry. The breast pockets are spacious, I loaded them with different sampling and surveying gear, which never got wet. The loops adjacent to the breast pockets were handy to tether expensive gizzmos to, so you never had to worry about your GPS falling out (which has happened to me in the past). The high location of the fleece lined hand pockets was nice in that I could still access them while wearing waders.
The only downside to this piece, no arm-pit zips. The goretex is fairly thick (which is awesome because I abused the hell out of the jacket without it failing) so it can be warm. Some vents would have been nice during some of those summer showers.

- Excellent Jacket! Worth the Cost! Review by Erik
OverallI recently purchased this jacket after I spent 11 days in Alaska with an inferior and cheaper jacket. The cheaper jacket was wet and cold the entire time and I was wishing I had the G3. I got home and purchased it. It is warm and dry and breathes so well when hiking or performing other activities. If you like comfort go with the G3! It is the best and worth the cost!

- Burly Review by CR
Overall10 September days in Cordova Alaska (45-55 and rain) was my first real test of this jacket. It handled serious bush whacking alders, tumbling down cut banks and flasks of bourbon with aplomb. I was truly impressed with the fishing specific ad ons. The magnets, zingers, clips and Velcro cuffs are well thought out. The hood adjusts well allowing glasses to remain rain free while not impeding my bear awareness. And it rained...and rained....and rained. But I stayed dry. As this is a thick jacket I was concerned with overheating hiking in but if I layered lightly it was no issue. I never thought about the cost until my buddy's jacket leaked, then I was glad I bought this jacket.

- Only one problem. The wrist straps have de-laminated. Review by Hamurana Zulu
OverallG3 Guide Jacket
I bought this jacket specifically to use for winter fishing on the Tongariro River. Great jacket that shed rain, sleet and snow and kept me dry at all times. Only one problem. The wrist straps have de-laminated. How do I get it fixed here in New Zealand?

- G3 revolutionizes the guiding experience Review by Jolly79
OverallI used the G3 jacket under the worst conditions ranging from torrential rain pours to plus 30 days as a guide on Lac Seul. This jacket is like nothing I have ever seen or worn, when it says rain resistant it holds like no other, no seam rips due to the extreme durability of the jacket. The colour is very much approved if your a hunter as well. Combining a stylish look with the new way of the future water resistant technology. This is the way to go
