Why WINDSTOPPER®?
- Product Care
WINDSTOPPER® Care:
The ability to block wind is inherent in the fabric. Proper washing will not affect its ability to block wind.
Turn item inside-out and machine wash warm with liquid detergent specifically for membrane clothing (available in specialist sports shops). Tumble dry cool, or hang drying is the safest.
Remember to zip all pockets and close all Velcro cuffs before washing to prevent any damage caused by the machine.
Do not dry clean, use bleach or fabric softeners.
It is better to care for the garment often with a little detergent than rarely with a lot of detergent.

Most anglers have experienced a windblown day on the water - many including rain, sleet or snow. Any one of these elements might be enough to drive you inside if you aren’t wearing the proper gear. WINDSTOPPER® fabrics include two key features to make your fishing experience more comfortable:
- Total windproof protection. WINDSTOPPER® membrane blocks 100% of blowing wind. - All Simms WINDSTOPPER® fabrics feature DWR to keep water absorption to the absolute minimum - even with lofty fleece. -

Overall I have one that I have worn for salt and fresh water fishing it provides good coverage with a nice fit with one layering piece under it. It did a good job shedding water and ocean spray . I'd say its a very nice jacket and blocks the wind well(Posted on 1/29/13)

- My Go-to Jacket Review by J. Hubka

Overall For the last 2 years the Softshell Windstopper is the jacket I wear almost daily, every where I go, from early Fall to late Spring. It looked so nice I was afraid to wear it fishing so I bought another one. The jacket is the mid or outer layer of the Simms keep warm and dry system. From Canada to Texas, this Windstopper is my Go-to jacket when fishing or just going out. I see a third jacket in my future!(Posted on 7/16/12)

Overall For being one of the more affordable jackets from Simms, you would never realize it. It's warm enough to keep thawed out yet cool enough that you don't sweat under it. Paired up and layered with the right underwear/shirt, this jacket makes for a must have outfit on any body of water- whether casting from kelp beds for coho or trekking your favourite river for trout and steelhead, this jacket has got your back- and front. The spacious weather-proof pockets, colour, and desgin all shout Simms quality. A no brainer for anyone- especially on any of the coasts, especially here on the Best Coast of BC.(Posted on 7/16/12)

Overall I wear this in the winter over the guide fleece and waderwick crew. Together they provide warmth into the low 20's. Repels water on the outside, and is all weather protection unless you are in a blizzard / downpour. Pockets big enough to hold fly boxes, cell phone and camera. Durable, I have slid down the mountain through the brush in this and it shows no sign of wear. A good investment if you fish in cold weather.(Posted on 7/16/12)
- stop the chill Review by max

Overall this jacket is my go to jacket whatever i am doing whether it be walking the dogs before a long days shooting or jetting up a river in alaska. I use this jacket for everything because wind chill can ruin any day no matter what you are doing. this jacket cuts out any wind chill and keep you comfortable no matter what the conditions are. It is also pretty waterproof, not as waterproof as the wading jackets but unless its tipping it down it probably wont let you down, Its a must have for those long days on the water(Posted on 7/16/12)

Overall I have been using this jacket for some time now about 3 years. I can tell you that this jacket is the best I have ever worn!!!!! The weather here in WNY in the fall is brutal; from wind to Lake Affect snow this jacket has seen it all. The steelhead season is long and cold here, I would not wear anything else.(Posted on 7/16/12)
