Simms' men's Axis Hoodie keeps you warm and dry whether you are taking to the streets, braving the cold wilderness or chasing the winter steelhead run. Polartec® ThermalPro® fabric combines breathable, lightweight comfort with quick-drying performance. The stretchy design of the soft fleece fabric keeps you covered as you snap a deep cast across the water. Water-resistant cuffs won't absorb moisture when it's time to get your hands wet landing and releasing a monster catch. After you have set your catch of the day free, quickly thaw your hands back out in the plush hand-warmer pockets, so you can tie on another fly and drop your line back in the water without missing a beat.
Polartec® Thermal Pro® fabric provides superior benefits over traditional fleece - Warmth without weight, highly breathable, fast drying, durable, easy care.
Machine wash warm. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or use fabric softeners. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.

I've had this piece for a couple years now and it's fantastic. I am a rather tall guy, but with broad shoulders. My older one fit perfectly (shoulder room and longer sleeves). I just recently purchased the same Axis Hoody in another color and it appears to be more snug and the sleeves have been cut shorter. I noticed the country of the manufacturer changed.
Please lengthen the sleeves again especially with elastic cuffs and provide a little more breathing room. The fit is quite snug. Otherwise this piece looks great and functions very well both for layering and wearing around the town. Very high quality.

I have had the Axis for almost two years now and I could not be happier with it. Slim design makes it great for layering, over and under it. It is also a great light jacket for fall days, however like most layering pieces it does not block the wind that well. The quick dry cuffs also give this jacket an additional two stars. Catching and releasing big trout in Colorado make the quick dry cuffs a dream. But that is not what is made for. I would totally recommend this jacket to anyone who likes slim fitting layering pieces and likes to stay warm!

I could not be more happy with this product. Every detail in this has the angler and outdoorsman in mind. Keeps you warm and dry in the winter in 40degree temps. Excellent layering piece. Very breathable, but blocks some wind. Super warm, but ultralight. Sheds some water in light drizzle. It is just perfect. I want another just to wear around because I find myself wearing it to the park with my son and just around as its slimmer design looks nice. My concern was the cuffs as they are supposed to dry quick after dipping..I noticed that they had fleece underneath and thought they would not dry as advertised, but I was wrong! The cuffs may be the best feature! Dried so fast after a recent steelhead trip dipping them in and out of the water! Great job on this one Simms!

I've been long time user of other grid fleece products similar to this for a long time, and can honestly say this product blows them all away. The non-wicking cuffs, hood and laminated pocket are killer for using on the water, and the jacket still looks civilian enough for day to day use. Perfect cut and fit for layering, or wearing alone. Good job Simms!

It's a must have if you hate layering with bulky layers, this thing keeps you warm!

Up until now everything I own from Simms is top notch gear, but I'm not sure who they taylored this jacket on. I'm an average size guy, but if I have so much as a thick flannel shirt on I can barly get my arms in the sleeves. They are very slim, so if your arms are very muscular I think your going to have a hard time wiih this jacket. I also think it's a bit on the cold side, but that is of course pretty subjective. The quaility of constuction is very good though. Simms I suggest a much more generous cut and elastic at the ends of the sleeves.

I was looking for a nice mid weight hoody for fall/winter Steelhead and found this at a local fly shop. I'm glad I found this because it's perfect for my needs. Its heavy enough to wear while fishing in the 40's but light enough to keep on when it's in the 50's, low 60's. I really like the full zip versus a pull over or 1/2 zip. This with a t shirt was all I needed so far and its been in the 40's during morning fishes and it looks nice. Planning on getting another in a different color for casual wearing. I'm in between a L and XL and tend to buy XL's but the L/G is a perfect fit and has room to layer with a t shirt and long sleeve t shirt if needed. It's a bit pricy but the quality seems like it will last a long time!

This is a great piece of clothing as you would expect from simms! I wore this on a ibex hunt in turkey last week. It was around 40 degrees where we stayed in the mountains and all I had to wear was a waderwick shirt under this piece and I stayed very comfortable while hiking up the mountains. It has a smaller fit than most simms clothing. I ordered a XL and it defintently fits a little smaller than the other stuff I have from simms in XL. It stretches some and it's made for a layering piece so I understand the concept. Defintently a step up from the rouge hoody. Overall I am very pleased with this piece.

This could be one of the best products SIMMS has brought to the market! I ordered this from a local fly shop, sight unseen, and was extremely happy when I first had it in my hands. It is heavier than I expected which made it even more attractive to me for winter steelheading. The whole thing appears to be constructed very well. Fitting purposes……..it’s true to size. It also looks sharp! Don’t be afraid to sport this thing to your next dinner party.
