E-commerce Technology Manager

The Simms organization is growing and ready to fill the position of E-commerce Technology Manager with a specialty in Cloud E-commerce with Magento. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, you will be a leader on the IT team and will be responsible for the functionality, support, and optimization of Simms customer facing and backend technology platforms.  This role will work full time with the Simms e-commerce and marketing teams. 

The role will work closely with both technical and business staff to maintain a high performing optimized technology environment that drives process improvement.  

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Leads all aspects of the e-commerce technical environment and responsible for the technical function of the Simms web environments; has dotted line reporting accountability to the Chief Marketing Officer.
  • Leads significant enterprise projects and operational activities pertaining to the cloud/e-commerce/backend environment.
  • Produces a reliable, stable, up-to-date, high performance E-Commerce environment.
  • Effectively translates business rules, requirements, and customer experience needs into concrete and meaningful information for the business and functional assets in the e-commerce space.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to optimize and improve business process flows.
  • Adds value to technology and business process related projects as a key stakeholder and contributor.
  • Optimizes and manages the mix of partner, contractor/consult, and in house technical resources to accomplish the organizations e-commerce and marketing technology goals.
  • Produces highly capable stakeholders and systems users through exceptional teaching and training skills.  Can easily demonstrate key technology and testing processes to technical and non-technical users.
  • Able to develop, maintain, and measure process improvements pertaining to both the technology and the business environment (i.e., simplified checkout, page speed to CVR ratios, etc.).
  • Successfully automates manual processes with a focus and understanding of improvement cycles.

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information systems management, computer science, or other technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an e-commerce team leadership role.
  • 7+ years of experience in e-commerce systems administration/engineering/development experience and a strong understanding of cloud and e-commerce/B2C/B2B systems and their application to the business environment is required.  Magento 2.x experience is a plus (MCSS or equivalent preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience managing both cloud based and Co-lo based hosting environments and services.
  • 4+ years of experience with E-commerce analytics tools such as Google Analytics, New Relic, Dynatrace, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with E-commerce to backend middleware/integration (iPaaS experience preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience administering MSSQL, MySQL, or other leading database technology preferred.
  • A strong understanding and ability to use and optimize SQL and E-commerce based database platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and configuring CDN’s.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and configuring application layer security technologies and/or hosted security solutions (certifications preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience managing and understanding DNS, routing, and e-commerce grade firewalls.
  • A strong understanding of SEO, site search, UX, and site performance, and site monitoring technologies and processes.
  • A strong understanding of consumer goods and manufacturing business practices, including order, warehouse, shipping, supply chain, and financial flow.
  • Strong communication and teaching skills.

E-commerce Channel Manager

The Simms eCommerce channel is growing and we’re looking to fill the eCommerce Channel Manager position. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, the Channel Manager will have P&L, merchandising, performance marketing, inventory planning, and analytics responsibility. The individual in this role is focused on creating a differentiated digital commerce experience, leveraging data to create highly converting shopping experiences. This is equal parts merchant with a great eye for product, growth marketer, and a data driven analyst; thinking strategically as well as responsible for day-to-day execution.

This individual will be responsible for driving revenue while managing cross-functional relationships internally and externally. The ability to influence and drive change across a retail manufacturing organization, strategic planning and presentation skills to senior management are essential to meet the growth expectations for the direct channel at Simms.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Owns revenue, margin, and profitability forecasts and results with accountability for hitting aggressive annual growth targets.
  • Grow email file and optimize email marketing channel, ensuring measurement of results via balanced metrics creation and recurring monitoring.
  • Develop and manage analytics to uncover insights and new opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Monitor changes in customer lifetime value using data to implement changes to the assortment mix, site features, or marketing strategies.
  • Define and manage a seasonal, monthly and weekly site content calendar in partnership with the Marketing and Product teams to ensure freshness, relevancy and appropriate balance of brand storytelling and commerce.
  • Develop and manage analytics to uncover insights and new opportunities for growth and differentiation. Monitor changes in customer lifetime value using data to implement changes to the assortment mix, site features, or marketing strategies.
  • Design, launch, and monitor promotions that ensure a mix of full to reduced pricing to hit overall margin targets but drive sales and contribute to responsible elimination of overstock inventory.
  • Consistently develop highly converting and personalized upsell and cross-sell strategies leveraging modern marketing capabilities such as customer data platforms
  • Establish detailed KPIs and metrics to track and report on the performance of strategic goals, processes and programs and transform data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Be an internal champion for the direct selling business and educate the rest of the company on the growth opportunities. Regularly socialize insights to executive leadership. Ensure that online strategies align with overall business and branding objectives.

Successful candidates should possess:

Ecommerce Merchandising Specialist

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Ecommerce Merchandising Specialist position. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

The person in this role is tasked with ensuring the timely and accurate presentation of product information and imagery with the goal of presenting an outstanding online shopping experience while strengthening engagement and connection to our brand. This role contributes to the success of Simms Fishing by supporting the Ecommerce and Marketing teams with day-to-day workflow, site content processing, briefing, and editing.

The successful Ecommerce Merchandising Specialist will help analyze and optimize Simms Fishing’s online merchandising by having a detail-oriented approach and a genuine interest in understanding what drives customers within our distinct personas to buy. He/she will help make customer-facing decisions about how to merchandise products in the Simms Fishing portfolio and will work cross-functionally with the Product, and Marketing teams to collaboratively execute best in class product stories.

This role will support marketing initiatives by executing campaigns and promotions across the website. They will take on projects and initiatives to improve the customer experience and overall site performance, using insights and data analytics to report back on performance to key stakeholders.

Outcomes of this role include:

Product Builds:

  • Contribute to and execute seasonal merchandising plans to create a compelling consumer experience and to effectively present product stories in an integrated manner across all ecommerce touch points (website, email, social, etc.).
  • Review seasonal content assets to ensure product copy, images, and pricing is complete and accurate. This is accomplished on in various size batches from large data imports to small one SKU uploads.
  • Responsible for accurate product attribution to drive excellent user experience related to shopping, filtering, searching and product findability.
  • Curate and sequence categories as needed.

Site Merchandising:

  • Proactively identify and correct issues that surface and build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners (e.g. product, content teams, planning, digital marketing, customer service); promptly respond to all emails and collaborate with key stake holders to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain online assortment integrity as product status and inventory positions change.
  • Assist in the testing and post evaluation phases of site enhancements, redesigns, campaigns and the go-live of all new products and enhancements, ensuring that all details are accurate, complete and ensure a best-in-class experience across all devices.
  • Partner with Digital Marketing team to support SEO initiatives.
  • Acquire subject matter expertise of Magento merchandising capabilities and general functionality with hands-on use of the software.

Performance Analytics:

  • Analyze site metrics, monitoring website KPIs, product/category sales trend, customer feedback and other related data to identify opportunities to improve conversion rate and drive revenue growth across product categories.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive landscape and identify trends in the marketplace to offer up recommendations on best in class merchandising practices.

 

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in consumer goods with proven success

Warranty & Repair Associate

A Repair Associate Level I will work as part of the quality team to perform a variety of assessments and repairs on customer returned products.  This is an entry-level position and will work under direct supervision.

Specific Duties:

  • Repair waders and garments utilizing approved methods and materials including but not limited to cleaning, laminating, heat-pressing, taping, sewing, gluing, and replacing missing items.
  • Water test for wader leaks
  • Maintain high level of communication with supervisor and Customer Service team regarding warranty and repair tickets.
  • Assist in quality inspections and packaging of finished product and raw materials using parameters and samples approved by Simms.
  • Assist in other functions as needed. The successful employee should possess:
  • a team player that follows the above referenced procedures,
  • but is also willing to take further direction from the Warranty & Repairs Manager. 
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time and move and lift materials. 
  • Position requires limited exposure to odorous substances and solvents (i.e. methyl-ethyl ketone). 
  • Requires patience, detail orientation, and focus on quality. 
  • Prior manufacturing experience is helpful.
