The Simms organization is growing and ready to fill the position of E-commerce Technology Manager with a specialty in Cloud E-commerce with Magento. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, you will be a leader on the IT team and will be responsible for the functionality, support, and optimization of Simms customer facing and backend technology platforms.  This role will work full time with the Simms e-commerce and marketing teams. 

The role will work closely with both technical and business staff to maintain a high performing optimized technology environment that drives process improvement.  

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Leads all aspects of the e-commerce technical environment and responsible for the technical function of the Simms web environments; has dotted line reporting accountability to the Chief Marketing Officer.
  • Leads significant enterprise projects and operational activities pertaining to the cloud/e-commerce/backend environment.
  • Produces a reliable, stable, up-to-date, high performance E-Commerce environment.
  • Effectively translates business rules, requirements, and customer experience needs into concrete and meaningful information for the business and functional assets in the e-commerce space.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to optimize and improve business process flows.
  • Adds value to technology and business process related projects as a key stakeholder and contributor.
  • Optimizes and manages the mix of partner, contractor/consult, and in house technical resources to accomplish the organizations e-commerce and marketing technology goals.
  • Produces highly capable stakeholders and systems users through exceptional teaching and training skills.  Can easily demonstrate key technology and testing processes to technical and non-technical users.
  • Able to develop, maintain, and measure process improvements pertaining to both the technology and the business environment (i.e., simplified checkout, page speed to CVR ratios, etc.).
  • Successfully automates manual processes with a focus and understanding of improvement cycles.

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information systems management, computer science, or other technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an e-commerce team leadership role.
  • 7+ years of experience in e-commerce systems administration/engineering/development experience and a strong understanding of cloud and e-commerce/B2C/B2B systems and their application to the business environment is required.  Magento 2.x experience is a plus (MCSS or equivalent preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience managing both cloud based and Co-lo based hosting environments and services.
  • 4+ years of experience with E-commerce analytics tools such as Google Analytics, New Relic, Dynatrace, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with E-commerce to backend middleware/integration (iPaaS experience preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience administering MSSQL, MySQL, or other leading database technology preferred.
  • A strong understanding and ability to use and optimize SQL and E-commerce based database platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and configuring CDN’s.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and configuring application layer security technologies and/or hosted security solutions (certifications preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience managing and understanding DNS, routing, and e-commerce grade firewalls.
  • A strong understanding of SEO, site search, UX, and site performance, and site monitoring technologies and processes.
  • A strong understanding of consumer goods and manufacturing business practices, including order, warehouse, shipping, supply chain, and financial flow.

Consumer Care and Warranty Manager

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Consumer Care and Warranty Manager position. This is a full-time, in-house position, based in Bozeman, Montana.

The Consumer Care and Warranty Manager’s mission will be to help Simms continue to provide a world class service experience for our customers, build a fantastic customer service and warranty team, and implement process improvements to make a positive difference in our Direct to Consumer business.

This position is responsible for wide ranging duties from high level planning and analysis to supervision and training of the customer service and warranty team. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and self-directed, in addition to possessing the leadership skills needed to lead by example. This individual will possess exceptional teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with team members in sales, marketing, digital commerce, operations, finance and production. There should a great deal of time gathering and analyzing the customer data and feedback to establish sales and service performance. With the data, the manager can focus on addressing existing customer issues and/or implementing new processes for enhanced world class service. In this role, you lead a team of Simms Fishing brand ambassadors, creating responses and online experiences that build and promote customer loyalty, trust, and good will.

Specific requirements for this position:

Customer Service Brand

  • Collaborate with digital commerce and marketing teams to provide feedback and make suggestions to improve the customer’s order experience and to maximize revenue
  • Ensure Customer Service Lead and team have the resources they need to evolve the customer service experience
  • Maintain in-depth working knowledge of Simms products, technologies and processes
  • Support online sales via upsell strategies, proactive online chat service and promotions
  • Maintain customer database by updating contacts, addresses, and order notes as needed
  • Maintain customer preference database, including information on lead time sensitivity, fulfillment time sensitivity, shelf-life requirements and product preferences
  • Gain and maintain customer relationships in order to better serve each customer’s unique needs
  • Research, identify and implement process and procedures that will enhance and improve online consumer interaction
  • Proven mastery in written and verbal customer communication emblematic of a customer-first, direct-to-consumer sales organization


  • Develop and report weekly/monthly customer service metrics, key issues, concerns or critical feedback to Leadership along with proposing solutions
  • Review, manage and communicate goals for daily/weekly response times
  • Compile data to identify areas of improvement in web site, customer service policies and procedures and offer innovative solutions

Team Management

  • Proven experience building a customer centric culture by mentoring, coaching and training the Customer Service team on best practices and department policies
  • Demonstrated experience in the management to the Customer Service team, working with the CS Lead and Representatives to resolve challenging customer service issues and escalated situations
  • Experience setting individual/team performance expectations and goals
  • Proven experience developing, directing and overseeing all aspects of Simms customer service policies, objectives and initiatives

Associate Product Developer

The Associate Product Developer (APD) will support the product creation process to ensure on-time development, engineering, testing, commercialization and accurate specification for all assigned products. The APD will support in translating 2D design into 3D samples that meet or exceed brief, design intent, costing targets, and adhere to established standards for branding, design, craftsmanship, fit, lab/field testing, quality, and durability. The Associate Product Developer works under specific direction and coaching from their immediate manager, and other stakeholders across the product team.

The ideal candidate for this role can work across a broad range of product types, and is comfortable diving into new, unknown challenges. The APD is adept in seeking out resources to support their learning process, including internal coworkers as well as our manufacturers and other external partners. The APD must facilitate positive collaboration across the various functional team(s), and provides critical support in efforts to meet established workflow requirements, budget constraints, sampling standards, fit standards, and milestone dates.

The Associate Product Developer will successfully manage, as assigned, assorted projects to enhance and support the Development process (e.g. Process improvement, documentation standards, data integrity). This role is a steppingstone to more autonomous development ownership of specific products and categories.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Key player in seasonal proto and commercialization phases.
  • Supports in creating and maintaining all specs, BOMS, tech packs, relevant records and a sample archive for all assigned categories.

Warranty & Repair Associate

A Repair Associate Level I will work as part of the quality team to perform a variety of assessments and repairs on customer returned products.  This is an entry-level position and will work under direct supervision.

Specific Duties:

  • Repair waders and garments utilizing approved methods and materials including but not limited to cleaning, laminating, heat-pressing, taping, sewing, gluing, and replacing missing items.
  • Water test for wader leaks
  • Maintain high level of communication with supervisor and Customer Service team regarding warranty and repair tickets.
  • Assist in quality inspections and packaging of finished product and raw materials using parameters and samples approved by Simms.
  • Assist in other functions as needed. The successful employee should possess:
  • a team player that follows the above referenced procedures,
  • but is also willing to take further direction from the Warranty & Repairs Manager. 
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time and move and lift materials. 
  • Position requires limited exposure to odorous substances and solvents (i.e. methyl-ethyl ketone). 
  • Requires patience, detail orientation, and focus on quality. 
  • Prior manufacturing experience is helpful.
