The Simms organization is growing and ready to fill the position of E-commerce Technology Manager with a specialty in Cloud E-commerce with Magento. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, you will be a leader on the IT team and will be responsible for the functionality, support, and optimization of Simms customer facing and backend technology platforms.  This role will work full time with the Simms e-commerce and marketing teams. 

The role will work closely with both technical and business staff to maintain a high performing optimized technology environment that drives process improvement.  

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Leads all aspects of the e-commerce technical environment and responsible for the technical function of the Simms web environments; has dotted line reporting accountability to the Chief Marketing Officer.
  • Leads significant enterprise projects and operational activities pertaining to the cloud/e-commerce/backend environment.
  • Produces a reliable, stable, up-to-date, high performance E-Commerce environment.
  • Effectively translates business rules, requirements, and customer experience needs into concrete and meaningful information for the business and functional assets in the e-commerce space.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to optimize and improve business process flows.
  • Adds value to technology and business process related projects as a key stakeholder and contributor.
  • Optimizes and manages the mix of partner, contractor/consult, and in house technical resources to accomplish the organizations e-commerce and marketing technology goals.
  • Produces highly capable stakeholders and systems users through exceptional teaching and training skills.  Can easily demonstrate key technology and testing processes to technical and non-technical users.
  • Able to develop, maintain, and measure process improvements pertaining to both the technology and the business environment (i.e., simplified checkout, page speed to CVR ratios, etc.).
  • Successfully automates manual processes with a focus and understanding of improvement cycles.

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information systems management, computer science, or other technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an e-commerce team leadership role.
  • 7+ years of experience in e-commerce systems administration/engineering/development experience and a strong understanding of cloud and e-commerce/B2C/B2B systems and their application to the business environment is required.  Magento 2.x experience is a plus (MCSS or equivalent preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience managing both cloud based and Co-lo based hosting environments and services.
  • 4+ years of experience with E-commerce analytics tools such as Google Analytics, New Relic, Dynatrace, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with E-commerce to backend middleware/integration (iPaaS experience preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience administering MSSQL, MySQL, or other leading database technology preferred.
  • A strong understanding and ability to use and optimize SQL and E-commerce based database platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and configuring CDN’s.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and configuring application layer security technologies and/or hosted security solutions (certifications preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience managing and understanding DNS, routing, and e-commerce grade firewalls.
  • A strong understanding of SEO, site search, UX, and site performance, and site monitoring technologies and processes.
  • A strong understanding of consumer goods and manufacturing business practices, including order, warehouse, shipping, supply chain, and financial flow.

Design Director

The Design Director is a player/coach position, simultaneously leading and managing product design for the Simms brand, as well as designing key products for the brand. The Design Director is responsible to continuously push function, performance, and aesthetics.

Duties:

  • Lead and inspire internal and external product design to its full potential through leadership, creative direction, and constructive criticism with a strong eye for Simms aesthetics.
  • Manage the product design process with internal and freelance designers from product brief to commercialization.
  • Oversee and manage a consistent design language across all Simms categories.
  • Design groundbreaking technical and lifestyle products.

Partnerships:

  • Marketing: Deliver product consistent with the brand positioning and Simms’ standards of quality, innovation, and craftsmanship. Collaborate on strategic initiatives to drive brand aesthetics.
  • Operations: Leverage expertise with the internal Manufacturing team and the Sourcing department to deliver supply chain efficiency, productivity and exceed margin targets.
  • Sales: Design a commercially effective product line which maintains Simms’ Brand integrity. Collaborate on     initiatives to drive sales growth. Provide training; lead the design point of view and present to the global sales force. Assist in key account sell-in activities. Help generate selling tools.
  • Finance: Create products to financial targets that are differentiated and win in the marketplace.

Requirements:

  • Personal and professional knowledge of the fishing and outdoor industry and the end use consumer.
  • Attention to detail at the most granular level.
  • Clear point of view developed through experience and market research.
  • Ability to present and defend a concept along with a willingness to accept other’s input and directional change.

  • Demonstrated record of success designing innovative products which exceed performance expectations for target customer adoption, retail sell-through, profit margin and company metrics.
  • Proven project and people management skills.
  • Technical knowledge of fabrics and construction techniques.

Digital Marketing Director

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Digital Marketing Director position. This is a full-time position. The Digital Marketing Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of the SIMMS digital marketing strategy. S/he must operate with an eager, entrepreneurial, innovative mindset and cultivate strong connections within the SIMMS global organization.

Working closely with the marketing team, this role is responsible for driving brand awareness and engagement via digital media. The Digital Marketing Director also works closely with the DTC team and external agencies to drive e-commerce traffic and revenue behind key seasonal product initiatives via digital advertising, email, affiliates, paid social, and search.

While this role is primarily focused on hitting SIMMS “full-funnel” digital KPIs, s/he will play an integral role in developing our brand communication plans more broadly. The Digital Marketing Director will be an omni-channel resource, also contributing to our digital marketing efforts on Amazon and the wholesale side of the business.

Brand Advertising + Digital Marketing
Manages brand advertising that promotes awareness and engagement with target consumers. Builds plans in alignment with brand marketing strategies, manages media agency, implements campaigns, and reports performance. (top-funnel)

Drives traffic to simmsfishing.com and affiliate license websites. Oversees the North American digital marketing program including email, affiliate, paid search, paid social and digital re-targeting programs. Builds plans, manages vendor relationships, implements campaigns, and measures performance. (mid/bottom funnel) Works closely with Product Marketing to prepare creative briefs for all digital product marketing needs. Provides feedback and signs off on creative based on industry best practices and SIMMS’ performance trends.

Collaborates with International partners in key markets like Japan, Europe, and New Zealand. Ensures timely and effective execution of domestic digital marketing tactics and programs which can also be regionalized and implemented internationally.

Creates, maintains, and evolves a departmental calendar that matches business objectives with the activities and output of the department.

Develops benchmark criteria to measure the efficacy of digital marketing programs, including SEO/SEM guidelines, goals and metrics, vendor agency performance, and social engagement Develops and maintains KPI dashboards and/or regular reports to keep teams and Executives informed on the return of ad spend, overall marketing performance and to help inform the balance of spend per channel and success metrics.

Reporting and Budgeting
Drives development of the annual digital marketing budget; inclusive of agency support, production, media, paid search, and other expenditures to comply with organizational financial objectives. Manages department expenses, ensuring all invoices are provided to Accounting, signed off and paid on time, communicate spend pacing and accrual needs Establishes and coordinates reporting on all efforts.

Additional Duties
Contributes to the development of seasonal GTM strategies. Collaborate with marketing colleagues to bring seasonal stories to life. Supports wholesale digital marketing efforts and the Amazon business.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BA in business administration, marketing and communications or relevant field preferred
  • 7+ years of digital marketing
  • Experience working with email, social, digital advertising in related industry
  • Experience in marketing leadership

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Customer Care Representative

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill a Customer Care Representative position. This is a full-time, in-house position, based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, the Customer Care Representative will provide superior customer experiences with our professional guides, dealers and consumers at every touch point, creating brand loyalty through expert-level product recommendations, advice and guidance on all things Simms – this is the ‘go to’ for finding solutions for any and all situations that may occur, with a win-win solution as the ultimate goal.

This role will work with all types of Simms customers, ranging from Guides to consumers and dealers, handling all inbound order processing, product recommendation and post-sale activities, such as product returns and warranty needs.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Efficiently handles order fulfillment through all three channels in a timely manner with the highest level of accuracy
  • Able to provide expert-level product knowledge to a variety of anglers, regardless of experience levels, and sell them into the right product based on their personal needs and goals and recommend appropriate care and maintenance
  • Effectively balances a variable workload, shifting when necessary to meet the demands of the department and company
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism while on the phone or communicating via email
  • Diligently utilizes and understands Simms’ inventory management system, contact center and ticketing management system as well as individual channel ordering sites and associated features
  • Looks for opportunities to improve overall customer experience by identifying and contributing to process improvements

Successful candidates should possess:

Warranty & Repair Associate

  • Prior manufacturing experience is helpful

Warranty & Repair Associate

A Repair Associate Level I will work as part of the quality team to perform a variety of assessments and repairs on customer returned products.  This is an entry-level position and will work under direct supervision.

Specific Duties:

  • Repair waders and garments utilizing approved methods and materials including but not limited to cleaning, laminating, heat-pressing, taping, sewing, gluing, and replacing missing items.
  • Water test for wader leaks
  • Maintain high level of communication with supervisor and Customer Service team regarding warranty and repair tickets.
  • Assist in quality inspections and packaging of finished product and raw materials using parameters and samples approved by Simms.
  • Assist in other functions as needed. The successful employee should possess:
  • a team player that follows the above referenced procedures,
