GORE-TEX® Wader Care
The #1 tip to prolonging the life of a wader is drying your waders. It is important to dry your waders out after each use. We recommend drying the inside first (if damp) and then the outside. When drying the outside you can pull your gravel guards up until the feet are dry and then flip them down to dry the rest of the wader
Use a front load machine or hand wash. Use cold water and normal detergent that does not contain bleach. Once you have washed the waders make sure you dry them properly start by drying the inside first. Never put your waders in the dryer, the heat will adversely affect the seam tape on your waders and will void your warranty.
We offer more sizes than anyone, a good fit goes a long way to extending the life of your wader. Make it clear that people should use their exact measurements as we have already provided extra room for layering and movement.
Do not store inside your car for long periods of time excess heat will damage your waders.
USE A MAT
Always put your waders on using a protective mat to shield the neoprene feet from rocks.
Do not wear jeans under your waders. Jeans are highly abrasive wearing on your waders from the inside out. More importantly jeans and sweatpants do not transfer moisture away from the body. Use proper layering (to view our layering collection, go here). Using layers such as these will help wick moisture away from your body and assist in the waders ability to breathe.
Most stain removers will work fine on our waders. As long as the stain remover does not contain bleach you should be o.k.

My other favorite wadersGreat wader. Perfect for those cooler early or late summer mornings. I always put them on for morning warmth and to stay dry. Sometimes I plan on taking them off mid-day but often forget as the breathable Gore_tex keeps me dry inside and out all day long even in our Montana summer heat. A perfect warm weather wader or for fishing smaller streams when I don't need my G4's. SIMMS G3 Guide Pant is my other favorite wader!
For Wildlife Photography & Fly-fishing, Exactly What We've been Looking ForWe live on a remote but well-known salmon river on the Alaska Peninsula. The landscape is a combination of boggy tundra, dense alders and willow laced with streams and surrounded by mountains. Summers are short - but getting longer with climate change. Most of the year cool weather and rain can be expected. We've been looking for a tough, lightweight pant with no unnecessary pockets, rings or straps that will allow us to hike up and down the watershed, ford streams along the way, negotiate our alder jungles as we explore new locations to toss a fly or photograph wildlife. And yes, the zipper fly provides an advantage over chest waders. This is Exactly the product we've had in mind.
We want to thank Simms for providing 14 sizes for this product. We've often said we wouldn't mind paying more for gear that fits. I'm 6' and slender; medium-long works, allowing me to tighten the belt up over my hips while still having plenty of room to flex my legs as I climb through alders or lower myself to release a fish. Barbra is 5' 7" and of average-slender build, making medium a decent fit. The little bit of extra leg length is not a problem with the belt worn to cinch up over her hips, though the boot is a bit large. As the goal of 50/50 on the water continues to become a reality, we hope Simms will offer this wader cut to a woman's figure. Jack D., Chignik Lake, Alaska
G3 Wading PantsWell with summer around the corner I am packing up my G3 wading pants. I am a 66 year old surf fisherman that tries to fish 3-5 days a week on the Orange County, CA coast. These pant waders are awesome. The Gore-Tex keeps me dry and warm. The breathable lining keep me cool without sweating, love this feature. Being my age the zipper fly is one of the reason I bought the pants instead of the chest waders. The waist on my MS size is a little tight for my 34” waist. Other than that I would recommend the waders for anyone looking for a top of the line wader.
