Designed to Blend In…Because you’re the last thing fish want to see.
Uniquely designed to evade fish, River Camo offers you an edge at beating detection, so you can get one step closer to the fish and that perfect casting position. In collaboration with Veil Camo, Simms® developed River Camo—a cutting edge, proprietary and mathematically driven camouflage pattern for fish—by breaking up shapes. Built with a color palette tested in the river environment and against the fish’s vision, River Camo is technology built to keep you more in tune with the natural world.
Machine wash and rinse in cold water, gentle cycle. Tumble dry low, remove promptly. Do not dry clean, bleach, iron or steam.
To maintain loft do not store compacted. Primaloft® is easy to care for especially when compared to down.

ComfortableVery light, warm, and a nice fit!
Kinetic JacketI have several generations of this jacket. It’s my go to for both fishing and the bar. This piece is tapered with stretchy breathable panels on the side. It fits well under waders, etc. that tapered featured works against you if you want a moderately bulky mid layer and put the jacket on over it. I wear it constantly when the temps drop- on stream or in bar!
Great jacketMy favorite piece of clothing from Simms. Great all year round. Simply love it.
Warm when wetI wear this jacket in alaska as a raft guide and rain or shine I am warm in it. Pretty water resistant and unless it pours this jacket is really all you need, especially for the fall season.
Good jacket for winter!I use this jacket daily during the winter for the trip to and from work! I love that it is lightweight and provides so much warmth. I love the fit and it can serve multiple purposes as a coat, or as a potential middle layer to my G3 Guide Jacket.
I wear it every day.Fall is arriving here and this jacket with a Simms shirt and coldweather pants, is all I need.
Good Idea poor quality controlI received the jacket yesterday and I really liked it. Once I put it on I noticed the pocket zippers did not have zipper pulls. The cuffs on the arms stretched out after one use. Will be exchanging it.

MnMike, thank you for taking the time to review this products. Please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-217-4667 so we can work toward a solution.
Highly recommendedLove this jacket. Slick and easily tucks under waders. Moves naturally with my body, does not feel bulky. Water beads off it. Keeps me warm and chilly temps and wind. Great for spring or fall fishing. Very happy with it and love the soft material and hood.
Warm and slickThis is a great layering piece. The outer material is very slick and slides under your gore two shell with no binding like you get from fleece. The insulation is good, really good. I haven't had the chance to test the claims that is retains 96% heat while wet because I'm pretty careful about having my rain smell ready at the first hint of rain.
It fits pretty true to size with a fit on the slimmer side. I wouldn't expect to put much more than a thick base layer beneath it, but I would not thing you would need too much.
The stretchier material under the arms really does work, I would say one of the best things about the jacket is the absolute freedom of movement. No restrictions on movement at all,m very comfortable.
My lost stars are due to the fact that it is made in China instead of Montana. I'm worried Simms is going to start making all of their gear in China and then the quality will slips like many other brands. Simms has a premium price m
Great jacket but has fallen apart a bitBeing a huge fan if Simms I was so excited to purchase this jacket. It's the perfect fall jacket up here in Michigan. If I recall I bought this jacket in September and by January the pocket zipper has broken on right side as well as the Simms logo on upper left chest has been peeling off. All in all another great product from Simms. I don't think there's a day that goes by when I don't have some sort of Simms clothing on....
warm, light weight and packableA great jacket for walk and wade or rowing the boat. It's not to heavy or bulky but it keeps you warm. Works out great with a rain jacket over it for real bad weather.
Sierraguide Service/Fly Fishing
Not that greatI really wanted to like this jacket but it continues to disappoint. The inside of the pocket which is a double layer of thin fabric blew out somehow after the first few times in use (fishing), the zippers on the pockets constantly snag the jacket when trying to close and the cuffs on the arms which are a stretchy fleece are too thick, bunch up and have stretched out with only maybe a dozen days wear. :(
Good All fishing JacketWeatehr can be unpredictable here int eh Eastern Sierras of California. You might wake up to a 7º morning and be fishing in 60º by noon.
Throw on a Simms Solarflex baselayer, and this coat, and you'll be good all day.
It is light weight, compressible, and is comfortable iin a wide range of weather conditions. Great for backpacking, skiing, and of course washing your flies.
Perfect! This jacket does it all! I love it as a layering system as well as by itself.
Perfect in the FieldBalancing insulation, layers and outwear can be a tough and frustrating. The kinetic has thus far gone a long way to solving this problem. With minimal layering, Insulation and breathability seem just right in a 30 degree wind or 50 degree sunny day, and all variables in between, including light rain. You will still need a shell in a downpour. The fit, stretchy panels, and sleeve length did not make much sense to me in the store, even feeling a bit constrictive, but once in the field this jacket literally molds to your body and moves perfectly with every action whether casting, rowing or scrambling over rocks. The kinetic layers nicely under a pair of waders with almost no additional bulk. When worn, the hood is lightweight, barely noticeable and the edges stay out of your field of view, all while adding significant warmth. This is not a coat for walking down Main Street, but on the river it’s one sweet piece.
Good jacketThe kinetic overall is a great jacket, the only issue I have with it are the zippers for the pockets. The left zipper failed after about a week of use. It's great for layering and how lightweight it is is awesome!
The Jacket That Does It AllThis is the jacket I've been waiting for Simms to make for a long time! Simply put, this thing rocks! Worn alone or under a shell, the Kinetic will keep you warm while letting your core breath. The stretch fabric under the arms and along the cuffs is smart as it will hold up longer/better than the nylon material. The hood is perfect for blustery fall/winter days and the zippered chest pocket is great for a phone, tippet, etc. It is a slimmer cut, which I like, so keep that in mind when ordering I'm 6'2", 210 pounds and the large is great. If you plan on layering a lot underneath, order up a size! Truly a great jacket... Looking forward to other colors in the future!
