Controller

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the position of Controller. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining complete and accurate financial records and serve as a consultant for managers within the organization, advising them of current budget information and helping them evaluate the financial impact of business decisions.


Outcomes of this role include:

  • Accurate and Complete Financial Records
  • Engaged and Product Accounting/Finance Team
  • Finance Processes are reviewed and updated to lead to more scalable business
  • Appropriate Internal Controls are designed and maintained to protect assets
  • Successful Financial statement and compliance audits

 

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Minimum 5+ years of Accounting Management with proven success
  • Previous Controller level or equivalent business experience
  • CPA
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred)
  • GAAP Proficient
  • Experience with Foreign Currency/Consolidation preferred
  • Strong understanding of/experience with ERP systems

Custom Branding Program Representative

In this role, the CBP Representative will provide superior customer experiences with our retailers at every touch point, assisting dealers and customers grow their Simms branded logo business through on-time delivery focusing on high-quality branding/logo processes, strict adherence to quality, and timeliness with an eye for detail. 


This role might be for you if:

  • You enjoy solving problems and you don’t get rattled easily. If you don’t know the answer, you will dig until you find it.
  • You like helping people and pay attention to the little things which makes the difference between “pretty good” and “outstanding”.
  • You think well on your feet and enjoy learning new things and learn them quickly. When things change, you are able to roll with the punches.
  • You communicate clearly, frequently and can explain just about anything to anyone, and can do so via email or phone. 


Outcomes of this role include:

  • Manage all aspects of retailer Custom Branding Program needs: order placement, product and logo recommendations, fulfillment, issue resolution, program evolution & development
  • Effectively balances a variable workload, shifting when necessary to meet the demands of the department and company- This includes assist with processing warranty/repairs, non-logo asap orders and call overflow of all types
  • Reviews and confirms retailers’ artwork and images prior to production, driving for accuracy on every order, delivering exactly what is expected
  • Persistently aims for and exceed or achieves retailer-provided timelines
  • Drive sales growth in the channel, plus maintaining reporting
  • Lead seasonal transitions including: CBP Brochure creation, updates to ordering tools, inventory planning
  • Proactively partner with production team to ensure effective communication and processes are in place
  • Demonstrate high level of professionalism through timely & effective communication via all channels
  • Diligently learns, utilizes and understands Simms’ system including NAV, Elastic, EMBTrak embellishment software, and possesses a working familiarity with programs such as Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
  • Support and assist sales management as necessary 


Successful candidates should possess:

  • Strong customer service experience, preferably in the outdoor industry via retail or in-house sales/service
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to problem solve and actively listen with a focus on win-win solutions
  • Capacity to task switch quickly, balancing a large inbound phone/email workload in compressed timeframes
  • Technical aptitude with inventory management systems and programs used to track, manage and process orders, product returns and inventory assessment
  • Obsessive need to ensure all T’s are crossed and I’s are dotted
  • Avid angler and/or outdoorsperson is a plus

Customer Care Representative

In this role, successful candidates will work with all types of Simms customers, ranging from Guides to consumers and dealers, handling all inbound order processing, product recommendation and post-sale activities, such as product returns and warranty needs.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Efficiently handles order fulfillment through all three channels in a timely manner with the highest level of accuracy
  • Able to provide expert-level product knowledge to a variety of anglers, regardless of experience levels, and sell them into the right product based on their personal needs and goals and recommend appropriate care and maintenance
  • Effectively balances a variable workload, shifting when necessary to meet the demands of the department and company
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism while on the phone or communicating via email
  • Diligently utilizes and understands Simms’ inventory management system, contact center and ticketing management system as well as individual channel ordering sites and associated features
  • Looks for opportunities to improve overall customer experience by identifying and contributing to process improvements

 

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Strong customer service experience, preferably in the outdoor industry via retail or in-house sales/service
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to problem solve and actively listen with a focus on win-win solutions

Warranty & Repair Associate

A Repair Associate Level I will work as part of the quality team to perform a variety of assessments and repairs on customer returned products.  This is an entry-level position and will work under direct supervision.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Repair waders and garments utilizing approved methods and materials including but not limited to cleaning, laminating, heat-pressing, taping, sewing, gluing, and replacing missing items.
  • Water test for wader leaks
  • Maintain high level of communication with supervisor and Customer Service team regarding warranty and repair tickets.
  • Assist in quality inspections and packaging of finished product and raw materials using parameters and samples approved by Simms.
  • Assist in other functions as needed. The successful employee should possess:
  • a team player that follows the above referenced procedures,
  • but is also willing to take further direction from the Warranty & Repairs Manager. 
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time and move and lift materials. 
  • Position requires limited exposure to odorous substances and solvents (i.e. methyl-ethyl ketone). 
  • Requires patience, detail orientation, and focus on quality. 
  • Prior manufacturing experience is helpful.
