UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric will reduce your skin's UV radiation exposure significantly. All of our UPF finishes last the life of the garment, an industry standard of 30 washings.

Great shirts but have a design problemPros- love Simms and these shirts. Have owned several of these shirts over the years. Clean looking, versatile and functional. Great on and off the water for active people.
Cons- this new version has a garmet tag sewn on the back that has sharp edges that dig into the back of your neck all day. With well designed products you don't notice you are wearing them, not the case here. Finally broke down and carefully cut out the stitching to remove the tag. Sewing team did a great job, stitching was consistent with a high stitch count. The tag design on the front left pocket is an issue also, it a hanging tag that digs into your left arm when moving.
