Product Developer - Waders

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Product Developer – Fishing Waders position. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, the Developer will manage the successful translation of 2D fishing wader designs into 3D samples that meet or exceed the design brief, design intent, costing targets, and adhere to established standards for branding, design, craftsmanship, fit, lab/field testing, quality, and durability.

This role is the champion of the commercialization phase and critical to the success of Simms’ waders. The Developer must facilitate collaboration within the product team, the production team, across other internal departments and with external vendors to successfully execute and adhere to established workflow requirements, sampling standards, fit standards and calendar milestones.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Exceptional products that meet or exceed the expectations of discerning consumers
  • Products that meet design brief requirements, FOB and margin targets
  • Fully commercialized (buy ready) products on company timelines
  • Accurate product tech packs, BOM, dimensions and prototypes
  • Facilitate efficient new product introductions as key contact between internal departments and external vendors

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in product development with proven success
  • Extensive Knowledgeable with fit, patterning, fabrics and drape
  • Knowledge of pattern making systems a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft programs, Adobe Creative Suite programs
  • Detail orientated and Strong communication skills
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to adhere to processes and timelines

Manufacturing Engineer

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Manufacturing Engineer position. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana. In this role, The Manufacturing Engineer will drive continuous improvement across Bozeman operations to enhance the operations/production capabilities and performance while reducing costs. By utilizing engineering and lean techniques, the Manufacturing Engineer will implement new systems, processes, methods and equipment to improve operational performance.

The Manufacturing Engineer participates in solving production operation problems by developing plans for resolution, communicating through the process and developing systems to prevent a reoccurrence. Engaging with factory personnel, the Manufacturing Engineer develops standard work methods, work instructions, training aids and ergonomic change to improve the production employee’s overall experience.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • The Manufacturing Engineer drives improvements in the following critical areas:
    • Labor and material utilization
    • Quality and reliability
    • Workflow and process optimization
    • Ergonomics
  • Develops and maintains project plans to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timescales
  • Identifies and justifies capital equipment investment (ROI) that include increased automation, and new technologies
  • Performs root cause analysis and conducts risk assessments (FMEA) as needed. Designs, validates, implements and maintains production systems to resolve problems and improve processes
  • Develops standard methods, work instructions, and training aids
  • Improves manufacturing data tracking to collect, compile, summarize, report and present insightful and comprehensive feedback. Responsible for keeping standard minutes on all operations.

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Passion for continuous improvement with strong desire to eliminate waste and non-value add processes
  • Proven track record of success in a manufacturing operation
  • BS Engineering Degree required (IE or ME preferred)
  • Detail orientated
  • Strong communication skills and human relations skills to work effectively with a variety of people

Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Accounts Receivable Specialist position. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

The role will be responsible for maintaining a healthy AR portfolio and working with our wholesale partners to maximize cash collections while cultivating customer relationships. The role will be involved in processing credit applications, setting up new accounts and maintaining accurate customer records.

Community Leader - Salt

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Community Leader - Salt position. This is a full-time position that will be based remotely.

In this role, you will be the voice and face to the saltwater fishing community. You will be responsible for driving and protecting the Simms brand, as well as delivering market growth by developing and executing annual community marketing plans.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of key brand consumer touch points
  • Understand consumer needs, identify a market opportunity, and influence the team on strategy and execution
  • Establish and manage key industry, media, and angler relationships in order to position Simms as the market leader in performance fishing. Duties include but are not limited to: Manage pro relationships, conservation programs, event sponsorships and promotions
  • Assist in content development for web, blog and advertising
  • Assist in social media and PR
  • Assist in media planning

Successful candidates should possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing
  • Experience with fishing and or outdoor brands is highly preferred
  • Must possess youthful energy and passion for fishing
  • Knowledge of the local markets of saltwater angling a must
  • Experience in managing sports marketing assets a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • Planning, Product Knowledge and consumer focus skills
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team toward a vision through effective collaboration - and to drive the development and execution of marketing plans
