Developer, Technical Apparel & Sportswear

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Developer, Technical Apparel & Sportswear position. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, the Developer will manage the successful translation of 2D design into 3D samples on assigned collections that meet or exceed the design brief, design intent, costing targets, and adhere to established standards for branding, design, craftsmanship, fit, lab/field testing, quality, and durability.

This role is the champion of the commercialization phase and critical to the success of Simms’ apparel products. The Developer must facilitate collaboration within the product team, across other internal departments and with external vendors to successfully execute and adhere to established workflow requirements, sampling standards, fit standards and calendar milestones.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Exceptional products that meet or exceed the expectations of discerning consumers
  • Products that meet design brief requirements, FOB and margin targets
  • Fully commercialized (buy ready) products on company timelines
  • Accurate product tech packs, BOM, dimensions and prototypes
  • Facilitate efficient new product introductions as key contact between internal departments and external vendors

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in product development with proven success
  • Knowledgeable with fabrics, drape and patterning
  • Experience with Microsoft programs and Adobe Creative Suite programs
  • Detail orientated
  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to adhere to processes and timelines

Community Leader - Salt

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the Community Leader - Salt position. This is a full-time position that will be based remotely.

In this role, you will be the voice and face to the saltwater fishing community. You will be responsible for driving and protecting the Simms brand, as well as delivering market growth by developing and executing annual community marketing plans.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of key brand consumer touch points
  • Understand consumer needs, identify a market opportunity, and influence the team on strategy and execution
  • Establish and manage key industry, media, and angler relationships in order to position Simms as the market leader in performance fishing. Duties include but are not limited to: Manage pro relationships, conservation programs, event sponsorships and promotions
  • Assist in content development for web, blog and advertising
  • Assist in social media and PR
  • Assist in media planning

Successful candidates should possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing
  • Experience with fishing and or outdoor brands is highly preferred
  • Must possess youthful energy and passion for fishing
  • Knowledge of the local markets of saltwater angling a must
  • Experience in managing sports marketing assets a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • Planning, Product Knowledge and consumer focus skills
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team toward a vision through effective collaboration - and to drive the development and execution of marketing plans
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with management and external resources.

WAREHOUSE POSITIONS

The Warehouse Associate works as part of warehouse team to accurately and efficiently perform functions related to the following areas: inbound shipments, warehousing, stock replenishment, order fulfillment

  • Unloads, processes and stocks/delivers all inbound shipments accurately and timely
  • Stocks/delivers all non-wader work orders accurately and timely
  • Delivers all inbound packages to the appropriate personnel or department
  • Follows department processes to transfer product between warehouse buildings
  • Stocks all warehouse inventory in its assigned inventory location utilizing the FIFO inventory rotation process
  • Fills and delivers all stock replenishment requests from the production and shipping departments to the appropriate location and within the determined schedule
  • Follows all safety processes as written in the Safety Manual or as instructed by the Inventory Control Supervisor or management
  • Follows all department processes to safely use and properly maintain department equipment: forklifts, pallet jacks, man lift, rolling ladders, cardboard baler, racking/shelving
  • Supports the shipping department in the following tasks:
    • Picks product to fulfill sales order tickets
    • Accurately and efficiently package customer orders for shipment using the proper packing process/checklist to ensure that the product is received in an unharmed condition
    • Accurately ship and invoice customer orders using the business system
    • Handle customer relations in regards to customer order pickup
  • Support the Warehouse Specialists to perform quality control inspections per the process procedure
  • Effectively communicates changes, delays and progress with team and supervisor
