  1. My first Simms Shirt

    100%

My local gear shop starting selling Simms and the overall detail and style of this flannel caught my eye. This is a damn good looking, well made, warm, breathable flannel so no issues there. I'm not a fan of slim fit or relaxed fit. I'm a regular fit kinda guy for movement, fit, and function. This one falls in between slim and regular fit but closer to regular. It preforms extremely well until I'm needing to raise my arms above my head for fishing, rock climbing, or playing basketball with my son. Its a little restricting and has been the only issue I've had with the shirt. Still going to give it 5 stars because everything else is above stellar. I'm a flannel freak, having owned just about every brand, this one is hands down my favorite of all time.
  2. Best Technical Shirt for cold weather I now own

    100%

I have been looking for a cold weather shirt for layering when going up to Erie for Steelhead for the past two months. I have finally found my go to for exactly that. I will use this on top of my Base layer. Being 100% Poly with a liner makes this shirt rock solid against the cold and wind. I was using a 4 layer system with my top being my hard shell wading jacket. This can be used as layers 3 & 4 in some cases because of that liner. On > 20 degree days I will still probably need to use that third layer. I just fished in 38 degree with some pretty heavy winds at 15 mph and stayed warm the entire day using this as my mid layer (3&4). The shirt was very comfortable for an entire day of fishing. You can definitely tell it is moisture wicking because it was a little damp when I got back to the car. It dried up after about 10 minutes on the car ride back home. Highly recommend this shirt for those Fall-Spring days of fishing.
