To allow proper room for the neoprene stockingfoot, find your regular shoe size in the right-hand columns and order the corresponding Simms Wading Boot in the first column.

We have found that people successfully size their wading boots between their street shoe size and 1 full size larger (for men).

If you are a half size, then you should size up to the next full size. Women should size down for men's wading boots (ie: a women's USA shoe size 8 would take a men's wading boot size 7).

Not a performance shoe

"I have used this boot for two years now. This boot doesn’t handle difficult terrain well and performs just moderately well in boulders. The traction is good…the rubber is soft and it dose kinda break down over time but it is grippy and the damage doesn’t seem to hurt performance…. studs fall out over time…. but I auquaseal them back. Some people bash the rubber but the soft nature allows it to form to the rock texture increases surface area contact. I like the rubber. The quick lace is terrible…. I changed out the laces which was very difficult. They perform better with real laces but they still lack that “athletic” fit. I feel like they could use a couple more lace loops. That being said they are a ok boot for more casual days. They have there place in my rack…I own many sims boots. I most often I use my regular Access which I am super happy with. I wish they would just make a low top version of the access…. . kinda like the old flyweight!"

"Purchased for a saltwater trip to the Seychelles - has ankle support but because of the configuration of the laces provides no support at all - somebody is going to break an ankle in these boots - avoid at all costs - complained to Simms who offered a discount on a new pair - so much for customer service"

OVERALL A GREAT BOOT

"First of all, I own both the Flats Sneaker, and these boots. The Flats Sneaker has seen service in various salt water spots over three years and are holding up fantastic. This boot: GOOD- last year spent one week wading Abaco. Comfortable right out of the box. Lightweight. Held up to those sandy flats just fine. Late last year spent two weeks at Christmas Island. One week fishing exclusively in the lagoon. One week self guided mostly on the east end( Korean wreck area) and then on the lower side of the island. Almost all of the latter was really hard and sharp coral. Most of the sand parts were walking the beaches to access the inside reef water. As you can see from the photographs, the bottoms of these shoes are in excellent condition even after all of that. The tops have a few scuff marks and that is it. I give these five stars for construction and comfort. Took the Flats sneakers with me and never even took them out of my luggage the entire two weeks. NOT SO GOOD: other people have stated that these are really easy to get off and on. I did not find that to be true. I wore a lightweight neoprene sock. It was really tough getting my foot into the boot and getting the neoprene cuff pulled up to get my foot down inside of it. Granted, I am 67 years old and not as limber as I used to be – but it was not anywhere near as easy as sliding into a pair of lace ups. Also, one of the other people commented about buildup of sand. There is a lot of sand that gets trapped between the outside of the neoprene insert booty and the mesh at the bottom of the laces. None of it gets inside the boot. It is just messy if you want to take your boots off in a boat as there is going to be a lot of sand come out. Same thing back at the lodge. You do not want to take these off anywhere near your room as there will be sand everywhere. Once again, nothing inside the boot just a bit of an annoyance."

The perfect wet wading boots

"Nearly 2 seasons and they're still the boots that I wear in and out of my boat every day. They hold up great to daily abuse and are VERY comfortable. The only place that I get gravel and sand accumulated, is in the space between the mesh and the laces. They don't get into the foot compartment and it's super easy to remove once the boots are dry. It's a non issue for me. The soles have surprisingly held up well and will definitely purchase again once they are toast."
