Planner I

The Planner I is responsible for the accurate creation, maintenance, and communication of the operational information and tools critical to the success of Simms’ Planning & Purchasing organization. Through immersion in the foundational operational infrastructure of the company, they execute these responsibilities with strong attention to detail, sound operational and mathematical acumen, and effective communication with global vendors and internal stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Consistent adherence to key timelines and milestones in Simms’ inventory planning, purchasing, and operational data infrastructure.

Integration Engineer

The Simms organization is growing and ready to fill the position of Integration Engineer. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

This person will be a leader on the IT team and will be responsible for the functionality, support, and optimization of Simms integration environment. They will work with internal stakeholders to identify and solve business challenges and drive process improvement through technology. As Simms continues to grow, this role will be vital in helping the company incorporate new technology to solve emerging challenges.

Senior Accountant

To support in the preparation of timely and accurate financials via the completion of month end close recons, and compliance with various reporting agencies. To identify and implement process improvements across the accounting/finance function.

  • Preparation of balance sheet recons and posting of related journals entries in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Identify and assist in implementing process improvements to close, banking, ERP, and other accounting operation functions.
  • Manage Avalara Software and State by State Sales Tax requirements.
  • Assist and prepare documents and reports related to the Financial, Bank, and sales tax audits, in addition to any other compliance and regulatory reporting.

Accounting Manager

To maintain accurate and complete accounting records. To ensure that product costing is accurate, and controls/reviews are in place to identify issues in a timely manner. To serve as a consultant for managers within the organization, advising them of current budget information and helping them evaluate the financial impact of business decisions. To identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies within the ERP/Acct. environment and to maintain compliance with all financial reporting standards, taxing authorities, and borrowing covenants.

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records, including ensuring balance sheet accounts and reserves are recorded and reconciled in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure recurring reports (booked-to-shipped, sales workbooks, shop-in-shop analyses, etc.) are completed and provided to stakeholders in a timely manner to drive effective decision making.
  • Ensure business leaders understand where they are vs. budget and have the information they need to manage to their budget.
  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance filings are completed within deadlines. Utilize third-party software provider to ensure Simms is compliant with sales tax regulations.
  • Ensure product costing is accurate and provide Sourcing, Operations and Development teams with timely insight into costing variances.

The Simms organization is growing and ready to fill the position of E-commerce Technology Manager with a specialty in Cloud E-commerce with Magento. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, you will be a leader on the IT team and will be responsible for the functionality, support, and optimization of Simms customer facing and backend technology platforms.  This role will work full time with the Simms e-commerce and marketing teams. 

The role will work closely with both technical and business staff to maintain a high performing optimized technology environment that drives process improvement.  

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Leads all aspects of the e-commerce technical environment and responsible for the technical function of the Simms web environments; has dotted line reporting accountability to the Chief Marketing Officer.
  • Leads significant enterprise projects and operational activities pertaining to the cloud/e-commerce/backend environment.

  • 5+ years of experience managing both cloud based and Co-lo based hosting environments and services.
  • 4+ years of experience with E-commerce analytics tools such as Google Analytics, New Relic, Dynatrace, etc.

Product Coordinator

The Product Coordinator (PC) will support the product creation process to ensure on-time commercialization for all products. The PC will be a key contributor in all product creation silos, including design, merchandising, materials development, and product development.

The Product Coordinator will support the design and merchandising team with go to market assets, materials team in lab dip and trim development, and the product development team in processing garment prototypes throughout the development cycle. This team member will be essential in creating and maintaining standards throughout the breadth of the product creation process.

The Product Coordinator works under specific direction and coaching from his or her immediate manager, and other stakeholders across the product team. The ideal candidate for this role can work across a broad range of product types and product creation processes. This team member is comfortable diving into new, unknown challenges. The PC is adept in seeking out resources to support their learning process, including internal coworkers as well as our manufacturers and other external partners. Time management and prioritization, with the support of his or her manager, is essential to success in this role.

The PC must facilitate positive collaboration across the various functional team(s), and provide critical support in efforts to meet established workflow requirements, budget constraints, standards of process, and milestone dates.

The Product Coordinator will successfully manage, as assigned, assorted projects to enhance and support the product creation process (e.g. Process improvement, documentation standards, data integrity). This role is a steppingstone to more autonomous ownership over the product creation silo in which he or she shows the most interest and skill.

Custom Branding Program Representative – Full Time

In this role, the CBP Representative will provide superior customer experiences with our retailers at every touch point, assisting dealers and customers grow their Simms branded logo business through on-time delivery focusing on high-quality branding/logo processes, strict adherence to quality, and timeliness with an eye for detail. This role will average 20 hrs a week, with potential increase of hours during peak periods and reduction in slow periods.

Dealer Services Representative

In this role, the Dealer Services Representative will provide superior customer experiences with our retailers at every touch point. The day to day is a combination of customer interaction via email and phone along with complex back-end order processing to achieve on-time delivery. Creating brand loyalty is achieved through expert-level product recommendations, effective preseason and ASAP order management, along with advice and guidance on all things Simms. This role is the ‘go to’ for finding solutions in all situations that may arise, with a win-win solution as the goal.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Provide highest level of customer service in the industry with a positive solution-based answer to all product and service issues
  • Builds a trustworthy relationship with each dealer, helping them be successful through support and education of Simms programs and service including seasonal sales programs and ensuring Simms Dealer Policies are adhered to
  • Proactively manage open order dollars, focusing on accurate revisions and order release to achieve on-time ship dates
  • Educate dealers on the Simms B2B platform to place orders, find marketing collateral, and share additional tools critical for success

Maintenance Technician

The role of the Maintenance Technician is to keep all machinery well maintained, and to work with Production and Operations on new equipment implementation and upgrades. This is a full-time position, located in Bozeman, MT.

Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facility systems (e.g. mechanical, electrical). They evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to increase efficiency, capability, and yield. The Maintenance Technician performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and reactive maintenance) and troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Additionally, the technician prepares technical reports to document preventative maintenance issues. The role works under close direction of senior personnel in the functional areas. Team member may be involved in all areas of Simms: Production, Receiving, Repair Center and Shipping as well as Facilities. The Maintenance Technician is expected to maintain an open-minded and systematic approach to problem solving and view each challenge as an opportunity to grow.

Production Manager

This leader will be responsible for the evolution of a best-in-class manufacturing facility. He/she will create an environment of continuous improvement, quality, and innovation, in collaboration with the product and operations teams, and will ultimately be accountable for top and bottom-line goals for wader manufacturing.

He/she will lead a highly engaged, purpose driven and collaborative manufacturing team, producing the highest quality waders in the world while meeting safety, delivery, and cost goals. The Production Manager ensures that Simms is an employer of choice in the Gallatin Valley, anticipating and navigating through changes in the overall labor market.

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

Manages wader production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Creates an engaged culture through a combination of building trust, fostering teamwork, earning respect, and holding people accountable. Works with the Director of Operations to implement production capacity, equipment, and staffing plans.

Maintains a great safety record by participating in safety programs. Coordinates with Product Development on starting production of new products on the factory floor.

Supports efforts and participates in improving processes, quality, workflow, methods, training, efficiency & safety.

Provides and maintains a safe, clean, organized, and well-maintained work environment. Ensures the timely and efficient production of waders & accessories.

Participates in and promotes team involvement in company events. Also engages with Senior Leadership to bring team activity ideas for consideration.

  • Quality (30-day Returns for Manufacturing Defects):  R-3, G-1, SG-0
  • Wader Production Schedule (actual vs. plan):  R-98%, G-100%, SG-101%
  • Trailing 12-month Turnover:  R->30%, G-20-25%, SG-<20%
  • Safety (accidents or near-misses/Qtr):  R-1 accident, G-0 accidents, SG-+ safety improvement implemented

Successful Candidates Should Possess:

Production Specialist

At Simms, we make the finest waders in the fishing market, right here in Bozeman!

We are looking to fill several Production Specialists roles.   We have several roles and will train the right candidates to be members of our Wader Maker Team.  An eye for detail, focus on excellence and a positive team member are the characteristics we’re looking for.

The mission of the Wader Production Team is to produce high quality waders.  Roles may learn the production processes in the Pressing, Sewing/Taping, Attachment/Boot Building and/or Testing and Packaging area.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Embraces the concepts of cross training and lean manufacturing;
  • Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors regarding issues that affect the production of waders;
  • Consistently maintains the highest level of quality; and maintains a safe, clean, organized work area.
  • Follows all Safety policies and procedures

Successful candidates should possess:

  • 2+ years experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective & professional communication skills
  • Works effectively with team member

We offer a few shifts to choose from:

  • Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 3:30 pm; Friday, 6:00 am – 10:00 am OR
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Monday – Friday Evenings:  Noon – 8:30 pm
  • Saturday between 6:00 am  and 4:30 pm
