Technologies

  • Toray® fabric technology was developed specifically for fishing waders. The QuadraLam™ fabric featured in the Freestone® wader is a heavy-duty engineered fabric with a micro-porous waterproof coating that utilizes 2-layer coated fabric, a single membrane layer and a tricot backer to offer improved durability.

  • The AquaGuard® VISLON® zipper is a revolutionary new design from the global leader in containment closures. The zipper's new tooth design provides enhanced fluid repellency vs. coil or standard individual element closures.

Toray® Outerwear Care:

  1. Well-designed fishing jacket

    100%

I initially purchased this Riffle Jacket as a backup rain coat to fish in remote places with bad/unpredictable weather -- and found that it was so comfortable & light that I now don it frequently as a primary garment while targeting salmon and steelhead. The chest pockets are very large and thus perfect for carrying two long fly boxes holding big Intruder flies (= very handy). The hood, collar, and sleeve cuffs are well-designed and do a good job of keeping me dry during long days of swing fishing :)
  2. Worth the money

    100%

I can't say enough good things about this jacket. Waterproof, comfortable, convenient pockets, etc. I used it for Lake Erie steelhead fishing, and I stayed dry and warm during the wet weather. The chest pockets hold anything, leaders, fly boxes, gloves, smaller tools, indicators, and whatever you need at hand during the day. I do wish there were handwarmer pockets, but what isn't a big deal if you have a good pair of gloves.
  3. Great light jacket and very comfortable.

    80%

Satisfied with this jacket, comfy, lightweight, wish there was a few more pockets but i like it for early morning runs in the boat.
  4. Love it.

    100%

I use this from the mangroves, the Amazon, to trout fishing. It works perfectly everywhere. Even under thunderstorms in the Amazon.
  5. as long as its sunny

    40%

A $250 rain jacket should have a water-proof cuff, not a velcro tab closure. Try casting with your hands down sometime to keep the water from running down your sleeve. A brand like Simms should know better. And I will think twice before my next Simms purchase.
    Period end of story.
