Description

Rock Creeks are a dime a dozen across the West. But Montana's version is the gold standard, cutting through the Sapphire and Garnet mountains and crawling with thick trout and ultra-slick wading opportunities. Simms' Rock Creek Boot, with a full-length retention plate for HardBite™ studs, is the solution to stomping out the slip factor. Anglers will appreciate heavy-duty construction packed into a lightweight boot built for long miles. The cut and buff EVA midsole bolsters stability, while rubber rand toes and heels ramp up abrasion resistance for lasting comfort and durability over a wide range of creeks that rock.

Features

  • Waterproof synthetic leather, mesh & scratch rubber upper
  • Synthetic leather lined collar for cushioning & warmth
  • Dual‐density midsole for shock absorption
  • Full coverage cleat retention plate for maximun rigidity¬†
APPROX. WEIGHT: 51.7 oz.

Technologies

  • CleanStream™ is a design philosophy that runs through our line of wading footwear. While not specific to a product feature, this designation does indicate that the product includes features and/or materials that are more resistant to "hitch-hiking" organisms – have less exposed stitching, fewer ridges & pockets and utilize non-absorbent materials – all making the boots easier to inspect, clean and dry faster. All of these elements assist anglers in doing their part to prevent the spread of invasive species.

  • The STREAMTREAD™ platform is designed for the angling enthusiast looking for all-round, heavy-duty wading footwear. All the styles that feature the STREAMTREAD™ platform have been proividing our faithful with years of reliable, trustworthy wading confidence.  The die-cut footbed offers a sturdy, wading-reading deck and the molded TPU heel clip offers secure heel-hold & lateral stability for all day wading security.  Die-cut and molded single density EVA midsole creates cushioning for all day wading comfort.  Die-cut, full coverage TPU retention plate allows for maximum rigidity and cleat retention for heavy duty wading.  All of this wrapped in a molded VIBRAM® IDROGRIP® rubber outsole with 3MM multi-directional lugs for slip resistance in water and toe protection.  Also available in a 12mm Felt outsole.

Footwear Care

If using in saltwater always clean and rinse to prevent corrosion.

Use a brush to remove dust and dirt. Choose an old vegetable brush or toothbrush. For maximum thoroughness, remove laces prior to cleaning. Use specialized boot cleaner, saddle soap or maybe a mild dishwashing soap with luke-warm water.

Do not use bar soap or detergents.

Do not place wet boots close to a heat source (fireplace, campfire, wood stove, radiator, heater, sunny windowsill) as this can weaken adhesives and cause materials to become brittle or shrink.

Dry using natural methods (air dry) and try to keep them out of the sun for long periods of time. Boots dry faster when positioned upside-down. If desired, stuff a sheet or two of newspaper into each boot to absorb moisture. Change the paper each hour.

If you see any mold on your boots, brush in a mixture of 80% water and 20% vinegar.

Over time the use of leather conditioners may provide increased water repellency and can prevent cracking and drying of the leather.

Store footwear in a place where temperatures are stable and normal. Do not store footwear in attics, garages, car trunks or any unventilated spaces.

Never put footwear in washing machine.

  1. Disappointed

    40%

We'll I bought these at my local fishersman marine about 9 months ago and on my last outing( 12mile )hike my fishing buddy pointed out that my felt sole was separating. So I called the retail store that purchased the boots from and they said there was nothing that they could do for me. I really wanted to give these a fair shake and I realized that this is there entry level boot but I had a pair of Allen's that held up for two years before falling apart and frankly I expected more from these boots. At this point I hope simms customer service will make it righ. Overall boots are comfortable, love the colors but the Durablity wasn't there like I had hoped with the Simms name

  2. dont do it

    20%

I purchased a pair of these boots last fall, got maybe 3 weeks out of them before the stitching started to come apart on the boots in various areas.

[Response from Simms Customer Care Team] Thanks for letting us know Chris. That shouldn't happen. Please call our customer care center so we can help at 888-585-3570
  3. Shouldn't be in the Simms lineup

    60%

I clocked about 20 fishing trips in the mountains with the boots so far in PA. The loops that hold the laces have torn and the felt is starting to separate. I can understand the felt separating to a degree, but the loops tearing that holds the laces is a non-starter. This makes the boots unusable once that happens.

My plan of buying cheap boots every 2 years has blown up in my face. I didn't realize that cheap boots only last one season. I guess on the bright side, buying a new pair every year is still cheaper than buying expensive ones that don't last me much beyond 2 yrs anyway.
  4. Great Boot for the Money

    80%

Just bought these today, after I had a pair of 4 year old Redhead boots disintegrate when I put them on. I spent 6 hours in the river in these new boots. Comfortable, easy on and easy off, good looks, and more stable than my old boots. Looking forward to 8 hours on the river tomorrow. Lots of boot options for $99 in the market place, but I had to go with Simms. All of my Simms saltwater and freshwater fishing gear has held up for me.
  5. Garbage boot

    40%

This is Simms attempt to compete with Wal-Mart. Nothing but pretty colors for impulse buyers. Fit, quality, support...all junk.
  6. Solid Boot at a decent price.

    100%

These are my fourth pair of SIMMS boots in my current inventory. Each pair are well built and have lasted my 160 plus days per year for the past three years of hiking miles getting to and then in the water.

Got these Rock Creeks for local Winter fishing in cold slimy local waters. Been wearing em for the past six weeks and they already have 29 solid hard days on em averaging over 4-6 miles of river and bank work each day.

They are light yet very stable. The felt soles work wonders with some studs inserted on the toe and heel sections for climbing down and up muddy banks. The boots give great support in deep swift water crossing and best of all, they have kept my feet amazingly warm when working a single section for hours at a time.

Overall I am very pleased with these RC's and the price. Kudos to SIMMS R&D for putting these out on the market.
  7. Decent boot, great customer service.

    60%

I've had this boot for about 5 months now and everything was fine with it for the first few months for the most part. The main downside is this boot is not extremely comfortable. There is really no arch support and it feels like walking on a flat piece of wood almost.

Just recently the felt on the back heel of the boot has started to pull off, so I called in and they told me they would replace them for free, or I could upgrade and pay the difference. These were my first fly fishing boots, but it's time to upgrade to the G3 boots!

3 stars on the boot... 5 stars on the customer service!
