Absolutely love this vest! Works great

The mesh is cool in hot weather and there are plenty of pockets whic is great. It's also high riding which I like, but it's overall utility is average at best.
1. The two flat velcro pockets on top of the chest pockets are a waste.
2. No drain holes? No idea why any vest would not have them. This is an outdoor activity where it rains, and we often wade in deep water causing water to enter the pockets.
3. No double zipper on the front zipper pockets. Not as important as drainholes, but it would be helpful...
The details were overlooked, and I missed them before I made the purchase...
[Response from Simms Customer Care Team] Thanks TPitt. We have passed this information on to our product team.

I have owned this vest for a few seasons now. I am completely pleased with it. In my opinion, a vest is great to carry all the gear you need on the river! Mess makes it lighter and works all year around! If it's cold you are wearing layers underneath...if it's warm it helps keep you cool...It's a 4 season piece! Makes sense to me!!

in the small brushy environs of the southern Appalachian highland streams this vest is a must....it has everything needed and won't encumber the fly fisherman...

Although I purchased this vest for summer wet wading, this vest is so light and comfortable that I will be wearing it year round. I like the minimalist approach of the design. Much better than a chest or waist pack, and superior to heavy traditional vest designs.

Went from old and very heavy vest to my first mesh vest. Quality construction and design. Only wasted space are some too small Velcro closure pockets that could have been left off the vest but I do use for leader spools. Have used it on very hot Montana summer fishing and it is light and cool and short enough for wade fishing on the Big Horn River. Besides, it goes well with my new Simms waders.

When I first tryed this vest on I didn't like it because I was so used to a heavy vest. But the more I thought about it the more I liked the idea of a super light vest that was breathable especially in the summer time. I ended up buying this vest and it was the best decision I ever made, I just love it! It is half the weight of my old one and I don't sweat on my back like I used too! It has plenty of pockets to carry all of my stuff and I like a vest because I can use my net when I fish. Buy this vest you won't regret it, signed HAPPY FISHERMAN!!!
