Only lasted one day Review by Keith
Overall

Keith 1/26/2016

Bought these with high hopes they would last in the salt. Second day on the water and they wouldn't open. I had to pry them open. I didn't even dunk them or get them wet - they stayed in the boat on my pack all day. Very disappointed with the quality on these - no way they were field tested in salt. They are going back to the shop and I won't be buying another pair of Simms nippers ever again.

Bad Quality Review by Aanes
Overall

Aanes 1/24/2016

Bought the Simms nippers becouse Simms normaly have good products.

And I must say... I am not impressed.

The nippers works fine for the first few 100 cuttings.
After that, the blades starts to deteriorate quite badly.
I had to chang the blades not even half way trough the season.

The nippers started to rust and lock up after the 20th fishing trip.
After the 30th fishing trip. I needed to spray on some 556 on to even be able to use them...

Time for Able nippers...

Overall

Johnnyboy 11/29/2015

I purchased these only a few months ago, and the bottom blade fell out apparently on the stream somewhere. I purchased them because Simms has a good reputation. I should have looked at the reviews first but did not. Can i send them back in for repair or something??

[Response from Simms Customer Care Team]

Thank you for you review, Johnnyboy. We do have a full evaluation/repair and would love to chat with you about our warranty. Please feel free to drop us a line at 1-800-217-4667.

Worthless Review by NCJ in CT
Overall

NCJ in CT 9/16/2015

Absolutely the dullest nippers I have ever encountered. Like a fool I thought I had just purchased a defective pair and ordered a replacement set of blades from an online shop. Just a bad. I'm stunned Simms would sell these.

[Response from Simms Customer Care Team]

NCJ in CT, thank you for your straight forward review. If you would like to send these nippers into our evaluation center please give us a call at 1-800-217-4667 to get started.

Lost screws makes them useless Review by TroutSister
Overall

TroutSister 8/15/2015

They worked well the few times I used them. But then went to use them on the water one day and the one blade was just hanging there with one screw missing and the other half-way backed out. Had to keep borrowing my fishing buddy's cheap $5 cutter until I could get back home and dug out another $5 cutter that remains on my vest now. Love my other Simms products and the warranty service that backs them up. Should at least be able to order screws to keep this tool operational.

Not worth the money Review by ridesintherain
Overall

ridesintherain 8/14/2015

Above reviews accurate. They are built well but not sharp. You can cut stuff with it but a $10 cheaper pair will outperform them with regards to ease of cutting line and cutting larger line. Gotta say this is the only Simms product thus far I have purchased that has been less than optimal. Most of their gear sets the performance standard. These nips will underperform your cheap ones but do look nice.

Poorly made Review by John in Cle
Overall

John in Cle 8/10/2015

Well what can I say that others haven't already said. I purchased these last fall and they are already broken. They are dull to say the least out of the box. I went on a two day trip to PA this past weekend, went to use them, and the bottom blade or whatever it is was gone. Completely gone. I resorted to using my knife until I could hit an outfitters where I purchased a 5 dollar pair of nippers. They were already sharper than the simms out of the box. I thought about purchasing a replacement part, but I don't feel I can rely on them at all, so why bother. Anyways, I hope they can fix the design of these and make them better. I do own other simms products and they are great! Maybe I'll try them again in the future who knows.
