I have fly fished since I was 5 and that now equates to 36 years and change chasing the passion of this sport. During that time I've had numerous products by Simms. I currently have a pair of Simms flats boots that are hands down the best saltwater shoe/boot I've ever owned and I've owned a lot.
When I saw the Simms pliers on sale at my favorite fly shop, and found the orange pair which is a close match to my skiff, I bought them. The lanyard wasn't part of the package but I knew I could visit the website and pick up the lanyard. I read the above poor review and thought, what the heck it's $15. I did, however, think that $15 for anything Simms was pretty cheap. And unfortunately, the above poor rating was correct.
There are so many ways Simms could go with this simple addition to a great set of pliers and they chose poorly. The orange color is way off and the entire lanyard is very cheap. Luckily I know some folks who hand weave lanyards of all sorts and I'm going to get them to make me one.
It's not the $15; it's that such a great and trusted company has put forth such a poor effort on such a simple, yet important, item. Y'all are SIMMS, you can do much better.

Very Poor Quality Review by Jonsey
I've just bought the Simms pliers which are of very good quality. I've also purchased the Simms lanyard to match. The quality of the lanyard is so very poor and quite frankly, I'm amazed Simms have put their name to it. I'd expect to get something of similar quality in a Christmas cracker. For one of the best manufacturers of fishing apparel and equipment, I'm astounded that Simms has produced something this poor.
