In-river changeups in a snap Shake hands with abysmal autumnal weather and stay toasty in the process thanks to Simms' new Exstream™ Foldover Mitt. Formulated for fishing through the surly stuff, mitts feature Polartec® Powershield Pro™ for potent water resistance and high-loft insulation, while DWR-coated stretch fleece fabric puts unmatched warmth-to-weight performance and dexterity in the palm of your paws. When it's time to tie knots, or punch keys to access weather apps, mitts snap to the back - giving fingers freedom to wander.
Polartec® Power Shield® Pro provides a stronger balance between warmth and breathability while drastically increasing the inherent ability to repel water.

I loved these gloves! I bought them at a fly store in Mammoth lakes and I do not regret them one bit! I went up to Mammoth this past weekend for the closer and it was COLD and windy!these gloves kept my hands warm and i was able to touch fish without taking off my gloves and the water did not seep through. At least not on the mitt part. When releasing the fish, I didnt dare take off the glove due to the cold, my fingers were slightly wet but once i put the mitt over and wriggled them around a bit, they warmed up quick. These gloves were a life savor! At convict lake, (one of the windiest lakes) I was float tubing and got ice on my guides, i didnt even feel the cold with these gloves on! WORTH IT!!!!

Let me start by saying that I'm a loyal Simms customer and absolutely love many of their products. This is not one of them. For starters the gloves started coming apart at the finger seams after only a handful of uses. At a 60 dollar price point, that is simply unacceptable.
Secondly, I found the design to not be very fish-friendly. With the mitts folded over they are totally useless for fishing because you can't maintain line control with your index finger. The only time I ever fold them over is when I'm walking into or out of the stream--not the times I need the most warmth. Most of the time they stay folded back where they feel awkward and clunky. Even with fingertips free, dexterity is reduced and tying on tiny flys on the San Juan can be frusterating.

I use these gloves while operating Zodiacs in Antarctica - no other gloves have kept my hands warmer, even while wet most of the time, while spending up to 10 hours in the elements.

The materials are pretty nice, but the fold back thumb does not stay under the elastic strap on the back of the thumb. kept popping out on me causing line catch hassles. Should really go to a snap, velcro, or a slight redesign on where its placed. I would say save you money and opt for another pair of gloves.

I received these gloves for Christmas and immediately took them out on a test trial out ice fishing. I was very impressed by how well they kept my hands warm and dry. Even when snow got in them the snow almost instantly melted. Then on a trip down to Arkansas they earned there keep. Even with freezing conditions my hands stayed warm and dried quickly. Then they held fish very well. Strongly recommend this product!

There is not a better cold weather fishing glove than this. Anytime my fingers become chilled, I fold the mitten part down and I am able to warm them back up quickly. The hand warmer pocket at the wrist helps a bunch too.
