- Product Care
For proper cleaning of your footwear to descrease the likelihood of spreading Aquatic Invasive Species, please reference our CleanStream™ page.
If using in saltwater always clean and rinse to prevent corrosion.
Use a brush to remove dust and dirt. Choose an old vegetable brush or toothbrush. For maximum thoroughness, remove laces prior to cleaning. Use specialized boot cleaner, saddle soap or maybe a mild dishwashing soap with luke-warm water.
Do not use bar soap or detergents.
Do not place wet boots close to a heat source (fireplace, campfire, wood stove, radiator, heater, sunny windowsill) as this can weaken adhesives and cause materials to become brittle or shrink.
Dry using natural methods (air dry) and try to keep them out of the sun for long periods of time. Boots dry faster when positioned upside-down. If desired, stuff a sheet or two of newspaper into each boot to absorb moisture. Change the paper each hour.
If you see any mold on your boots, brush in a mixture of 80% water and 20% vinegar.
Over time the use of leather conditioners may provide increased water repellency and can prevent cracking and drying of the leather.
Store footwear in a place where temperatures are stable and normal. Do not store footwear in attics, garages, car trunks or any unventilated spaces.
Never put footwear in washing machine.
CleanStream™ is a design philosophy that runs through our line of wading footwear. While not specific to a product feature, this designation does indicate that the product includes features and/or materials that are more resistant to "hitch-hiking" organisms – have less exposed stitching, fewer ridges & pockets and utilize non-absorbent materials – all making the boots easier to inspect, clean and dry faster. All of these elements assist anglers in doing their part to prevent the spread of invasive species. For more information, please visit our CleanStream™ page or these organizations: www.cleanangling.org, www.protectyourwaters.net or www.tu.org.
The STREAMTREAD™ platform is designed for the angling enthusiast looking for all-round, heavy-duty wading footwear. All the styles that feature the STREAMTREAD™ platform have been proividing our faithful with years of reliable, trustworthy wading confidence. The die-cut footbed offers a sturdy, wading-reading deck and the molded TPU heel clip offers secure heel-hold & lateral stability for all day wading security. Die-cut and molded single density EVA midsole creates cushioning for all day wading comfort. Die-cut, full coverage TPU retention plate allows for maximum rigidity and cleat retention for heavy duty wading. All of this wrapped in a molded VIBRAM® IDROGRIP® rubber outsole with 3MM multi-directional lugs for slip resistance in water and toe protection. Also available in a 12mm Felt outsole.
Vibram® soles are built from the bottom up and are designed to overcome very specific obstacles on a variety of terrains. - Great value Review by Gerry
OverallI have had these boots for over 2 years. Get the star cleats. I used them without cleats and it was like wading on roller skates. With the cleats they are as good as felt.
They are comfortable and durable and definitely a good value.

- Good, but not good for Simms Review by Darwin
OverallThese were the first pair of Simms Wading boots that I purchased. I am on a budget like most people and thought that these would be the right choice-They felt pretty good in store. Truth be told, they are Amazing and worlds above other wading boots. They would definitely be 5 stars compared to other companies wading boots. My problem with them is that they dry SO sssllllooooowwwww. I am in water 2-4 days a week 5-8 hours each day for at least 3 months a year, and with how slow these boots dry I just knew they would mold or mildew.
Recently I purchased the Guide boots. They fit better, they feel better, and they dry quicker. Of course, you would expect nothing less out of a pair that costs approximately 55% more, right? As someone who has to do a lot of hiking in their wading boots, and someone who has feet problems, the upgrade just made sense-So I forked over the extra money.
My advise: if you are on a budget and only fish 1 or 2 days a week or less, and don't do much hiking during these trips, get these and don't look back. Don't consider trying on the Guide boots or you will want to splurge as well.
Sizing: I am a 11.5-12 (or occasionally 12.5) in normal shoes depending on brand. A 12 fit me perfectly. BUT, I have tried these on with other companies waders AND with my Simms waders, and as to be expected they fit like a glove with Simms waders but not quite so good with random_wader_brand_01.

- Good Boot Review by Steve
OverallThis is a good sturdy boot that is very roomy. I ordered a size larger as per sizing chart. Traction was good on multiple surfaces without cleats. I will probably add the cleats.
The boot is a little bulkier than I thought, maybe because of the extra larger size I ordered. I will just spend more time tightening them up next time.

- Great boots!!!! Review by Abram
OverallDurability - excellent, can hardly tell my boots have been averaging 15-20 hours of use each month over the past 2.5 years. Traction in water - good, but they are not felt. Took me a couple trips to get comfortable in the type of traction they provide. Traction getting to the water - excellent. Lets face it, most of the challenge is getting to the water. These boots excel on trails, mud, snow, ice. Way more stable than felt. Comfort - absolutely. They fit like a glove with a spacious toe box. Overall, very good investment in a quality product. A bit expensive, but you get your money's worth.

- Excellent tread, poor eyelet construction. Review by Erik
OverallI bought the Freestone boot as an emergency purchase prior to steelhead fishing this November. I expected to get a pair of Rivershed boots but as they were not in stock these were the next best choice. After spending six hours on the water I realized three things. The tread was excellent, allowing me to easily move along slate creek beds. Secondly, the boots were comfortable. And lastly, I noticed a rivet of my left boot had come out. This poor quality coupled with the twelve plastic eyelets featured on this boot has persuaded me to look for another boot with better eyelet construction.

- good boots Review by sgtbowhunter
OverallThese are pretty good wading boots. I took the advice of the guy who owns the fly shop in town and bought these. I was looking at getting the boa laces but the regular laces have worked just fine. These boots appear well made and have withstood one river salmon season and part of the late fall steelhead season and are still like new! The soles are very grippy on slick surfaces and comfortable on all day excursions. The price is right on these and you won't be disappointed with them.

- Freestone Boot Review by J.Hallingse
OverallPurchased these to go with my Freestone waders. Great quality and I really like the vibram soles. Friends recommended felt but I liked the durability of the rubber. I had no problem walking in quick moving waters on slick rocks. I would definitely recommend.

- Plastic eyelets Review by Rick
OverallOne of the plastic eyelets cracked and pulled out of the rivet on the fourth use. Boots are less than a month old. Simms repair service is great, so I will be sending them in, but I wish I had purchased a different boot. I got these because they are all synthetic and thought they would last longer than the other models.

- Use with aluminum cleats Review by Jon
OverallLove the aluminum cleats with the stream tread. Grippy, easy on the gas and brake pedals.
