UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric will reduce your skin's UV radiation exposure significantly. All of our UPF finishes last the life of the garment, an industry standard of 30 washings.

Not as good as expectedSo I have worn these 4 times now and the stitching on both thumbs has already unravelled. I really want these to work as an alternative to the Lamson but the stitching is not up to task.
doesn't last longThey are VERY comfortable and the grip is really good. But the quality isn't that good. After 3 weeks of normal use they start ripping apart

Good overall, but need workThese performed well at Christmas Island, aside from the index and middle fingers sliding down. I had to underline those fingers with waterproof medical tape to protect from line burns. I'd love to see these gloves come out with a full finger option for those two fingers. Since line burn protection was the number one reason I purchased them, I can't give more than three stars.
I support the needs work commentsYou really need to fix the index finger riding up problem. Makes line burn even worse as the line only goes along one point of your index finger.
Ill buy the new version for me and several friends as soon as you fix it
GreatI have owned and abused these gloves for a couple years. I not only use them for fishing
Great for paddling!I bought a pair to use while fishing from a kayak. I was looking for a glove that would help eliminate UV exposure, help reduce fatigue from paddling, yet allow me to tie knots and work with rigging without losing dexterity. I understand some of the finger length issues that other have had, but I personally love these gloves. I would recommend them to anyone that does a lot of paddling/fishing.
Dang, I had just the opposite problemLet me start by saying I use the gloves to fish for trout, using very thin line.
I actually cut the index finger back with scissors.
By having the line ride over the glove material, I felt like I lost a lot of feel. If I had thicker line and if I was fishing for larger fish, maybe I wouldn't miss the loss of feel.
Also, I couldn't tie knots very well with the long extension.
Once I cut back the finger I was very happy.
Needs ImprovementI've used these three times at Pyramid Lake. Disappointed with the length of middle and index finger guards. I had to keep pulling the glove fingers out over the knuckle after the first two or three casts. Now it is every time. My hand size is in spec with your size chart. I notice these same complaints go back a few years. Maybe you should invest more R

Needs improvementI took these gloves on a 2 day blue water fishing trip off of Palm Beach. The gloves work well enough, but the 10 to 12 weight lines would line up on my fingers just above the half finger glove. I would suggest making the pointing finger and middle finger a full finger on the gloves.
serviceI got a pair for the start of the steelhead season. They're great. They dry quickly and my hands are in great shape for having 70+ days on the water..that being said after 4 weeks I had to send them back. Max from customer service had a new pair out to me that same day. The new ones are already being worked hard and I see the seams failing again... I think the normal dude who's on the water 2 or 3 days a week they would be great. But as a guide I'd pass.
