When the sun cooks, keep your melon refrigerator fresh in Simms' Sunshield Hat. Features include the longest bill in the lineup, a removable SolarFlex® sun cape, and inner wicking to soak up beading sweat. Snaps secure the cape to the hat and a hook-and-loop adjustable closure equates to near universal fit.
At Simms, sun protection is a critical component of our sportswear offering. Through a combination of fabric construction, design and finish, we offer a wide range of clothing that features a minimum UPF of 30 (very good) up to UPF of 50 (excellent). UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric will reduce your skin's UV radiation exposure significantly. All of our UPF finishes last the life of the garment, an industry standard of 30 washings.
Machine wash warm. Allow to air dry on a head-shaped object. Do not bleach.

This is the best ball cap with neck shield that I have tried so far. Nice and light. Bill is long so it provides ample nose protection. Wore it in the 94 degree sun with lots of physical activity and it handled sweat well and was not hot. Really pleased with the hat. The wind does lift the neck shield, a Velcro tab would be great to fasten it under the chin when the wind picks up.

Great cap packs well in suitcase or back pack.very light weight very cool in full sun, doesnt blow off easily in high winds. Only negative is cheek bones exposed slightly to full side sun In static position in a stadium setting. It was easliy remedied by rotating the cap a bit.
Excellent cap love it. We will be lifetime partners.

Bought this hat for fishing and it not only keeps the sun off of your head and neck, it keeps all the bugs at bay, especially the no-see-ums!

I bought the hat for my husband who has very sensitive skin. We are spending the winter months in NM and AZ to escape WINTER in MN!
He is able to enjoy being outside and does not have to worry about exposure to the sun. This will be a year round hat.
