A portable heater you can wear on your head A portable heater you can wear on your head. Simms' Flap Cap gives anglers a heavy dose of cold-weather comfort thanks to its double-layered wool/acrylic knit crown, bolstered by a gust-thwarting interior WINSTOPPER® laminate. Knit jacquard Simms Logo with contrast color stripes come standard. Available in one size that fits most.
Most anglers have experienced a windblown day on the water - many including rain, sleet or snow. Any one of these elements might be enough to drive you inside if you aren’t wearing the proper gear. WINDSTOPPER® fabrics include two key features to make your fishing experience more comfortable:
- Total windproof protection. WINDSTOPPER® membrane blocks 100% of blowing wind. - All Simms WINDSTOPPER® fabrics feature DWR to keep water absorption to the absolute minimum - even with lofty fleece.
The ability to block wind is inherent in the fabric. Proper washing will not affect its ability to block wind.
Turn item inside-out and machine wash warm with liquid detergent specifically for membrane clothing (available in specialist sports shops). Tumble dry cool, or hang drying is the safest.
Remember to zip all pockets and close all Velcro cuffs before washing to prevent any damage caused by the machine.
Do not dry clean, use bleach or fabric softeners.
It is better to care for the garment often with a little detergent than rarely with a lot of detergent.

The construction and finish are top shelf. Recently, wore this cap with temps in the 30's and winds to 20 MPH. My noggin stayed toasty warm. I'd highly recommend it for winter adventures.

I received this hat for the holidays and used it quite a bit this winter here in Northern Illinois. It was a great hat on hard water and does not let wind in, at all. It did seem to shrink a little bit as I kept wearing it. I never washed it, certainly didn't dry it. I don't know if snow/water made it shrink but it is definitely a bit too tight after only 20+ times wearing it. I have a pretty average head. I wear a 7 1/2" fitted baseball hat.

Bought this product in September, snow came early in the Gallatin River.
Made very well, keeps the head warm and does not allow the wind to penetrate at all. Love the fleece band that lines the bottom 2 inches.
After two months of constant use: fishing, hunting, work and other activities, all I can say "I love this hat"
Hint: make one in black with silver or a midnight blue. For now the green works for me.
