Guide Boot Care
Guide boots are made of water-repellent full grain Nubuck leather. They require little maintenance but should be cleaned and dried.
If using in saltwater always clean and rinse to prevent corrosion.
Use a brush to remove dust and dirt. Choose an old vegetable brush or toothbrush. For maximum thoroughness, remove laces prior to cleaning. Use specialized boot cleaner, saddle soap or maybe a mild dishwashing soap with luke-warm water.
Do not use bar soap or detergents.
Do not place wet boots close to a heat source (fireplace, campfire, wood stove, radiator, heater, sunny windowsill) as this can weaken adhesives and cause materials to become brittle or shrink.
Dry using natural methods (air dry) and try to keep them out of the sun for long periods of time. Boots dry faster when positioned upside-down. If desired, stuff a sheet or two of newspaper into each boot to absorb moisture. Change the paper each hour.
If you see any mold on your boots, brush in a mixture of 80% water and 20% vinegar.
Over time the use of leather conditioners may provide increased water repellency and can prevent cracking and drying of the leather.
Store boots in a place where temperatures are stable and normal. Do not store boots in attics, garages, car trunks or any unventilated spaces.
Never put boot in washing machine.

Men's Wading Boot Size Chart
To allow proper room for the neoprene stockingfoot, find your regular shoe size in the right-hand columns and order the corresponding Simms Boot in the first column. This will typically be one size up from your normal shoe size for men and one size down for women (ie: a women's USA size 8 would take a men's boot size 7).
(Simms Boot size 5 will fit a Youth Size 4, etc.)
Not all styles available in all sizes; please see individual boot for size specifics

Great bootJust finished two weeks of April fly fishing in Colorado with a new pair of G3 Guide Boots. They broke in easily with no discomfort. The fit was great and as advertised. I love the vibram soles and the traction they provide out of the water as much as in the stream. This boot is very comfortable and if they feel good in the first two weeks it should only get better. I’ve worn Simms boots for over twenty years and been very pleased with the products and service.
Wonderful boot!I am on my feet several hours a day when guiding. My wading boot is a Huge part of my gear! I have bad feet and I can have problems with the wrong wading boot..
This my 3rd pair of G3s, and this the best one yet! They are comfortable, nibble and provide great traction. I will add the Alumibite studs shortly. In my world, this is safety gear! I love them...
BootsNice quality boots however the tread if the boots sticks out way farther than the cleats. So my cleats are essentially useless at this point. Had them for a decent while and had hoped as the rubber started to wear the issue would go away but no such luck. I am out a good bit if money in the cleats. Going to buy some rock treads that is my only option at this point. Not knocking the boots at all but if your buying these and you fish rivers with slick rocks like i do then heed my warning on what cleats to buy.
Awesome boots, but they run smallI just got my first pair of G3's and I love them, but I followed the recommendation and got one size larger (11) than I usually wear (10) and, my feet are still too tight in them. Luckily, I haven't worn them into the water yet, and I haven't removed the tags, but now I'm stuck paying to ship them back to the company for a size 12. Other than that, I love them so far, I'll post an update after I actually use them a few times.
Thanks for the sizing feedback. Keep in mind that you can also order feet in custom sizes for $60 so you don't have to sacrifice overall fit for foot fit. I'm in the same boat - shorter inseam, bigger foot.
Good, but still not sold on Vibram solesI’ve owned the previous model boot in both felt and rubber and the felt has much better traction. I installed one set of studs in the felt and two sets in the rubber and the felt still had better traction. They are durable and comfortable, but I wish they were offered in half sizes for a more precise fit.
amazing!Paired these with my G4Z waders. The Vibram soles have not let me down yet in some very slippery conditions. Boots are extremely comfortable. Ankle support is amazing. I used to come back from a day of fishing and my feet would ache. Now I am doing 9 day trips and fishing every day in comfort. Awesome product Simms!
Great BootI was in Montana near Missoula for 4 days and then in West Yellowstone for 6. The waters were higher than normal which made wading difficult. The boot held up to all the rocks and issues I ran into. The added pleasure was that the boot was lighter which made getting to the water and the rest of the experience a much better experience. I would highly recommend this product. By the way, we caught a lot of fish as well.
These boots are amazingThese are very comfortable and great boots can wear them all day there are just like hikers. Highly recommended
Great bootI fish the San Juan River in New Mexico that has sand, snot covered rocks, and river flows that are high and low. I switched from a beginner felt sole boot to the G3 and don't regret it. I have never felt more sure footed, comfortable, and warmer in 26 F weather. The G3 is definitely worth the money. Just remember, your boots is a very important piece of safety equipment on the river. Sure footing means no broken bones. By the way, I do not wear metal cleats, just rubber Vibram sole. Great boot!!
