Bonefish roam from French Polynesia to the Bahamian fringes and beyond - and so should you. When it's time to take flight, pack light and stay bone dry in Simms' Acklins Jacket, featuring 3-layer GORE-TEX® Shell fabric with a rugged, rip-stop 20-denier face. Full-length pit-zips dump unwanted heat while doubling as stash pockets. The 3-point cinch storm hood with drop collar construction is fully customizable. And articulated sleeves and a fitted design maximize mobility for all-day casting comfort.
GORE-TEX® PRO SHELL outerwear is waterproof, exceptionally lightweight and offers the ultimate in breathability, durability and extended comfort. Constructed with a woven backer, GORE-TEX® Pro Shell garments slide easily over other layers and offer exceptional tear strength and internal abrasion-resistance.
The AquaGuard® VISLON® zipper is a revolutionary new design from the global leader in containment closures. The AquaGuard® VISLON® zipper's new tooth design provides enhanced fluid repellency vs. coil or standard individual element closures, while increasing the number of design and color options for your application.
Cleaning your GORE-TEX® garments regularly will extend the life of the product. It will also keep them breathable as dirt and oil can clog the GORE-TEX® membrane over time.
It is critical to wash jackets. Natural oils can damage the GORE-TEX® tape and adhesives causing a peeling effect.
Machine wash warm. Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
Remember to zip all pockets and close all Velcro cuffs before washing to prevent any damage caused by the machine.
Tumble dry on warm setting making sure not to use a high heat setting. Drying on warm will actually reactivate the DWR coating.

I guide for Langara Fishing Lodge in the Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands, along British Columbia's North coast. The weather on some days, to say the least, is intense. There's wind and rain, and then sometimes they come at you at the same time and you get sideways rain.
This jacket, paired with the new Pro-Dry Bib is a deadly combo for those times where you need a light and stow-able jacket. There were many days where I would come off the water, undress out of the bib and jacket, and then just step into my kicks and head for dinner- no need to change my shirt due to dampness or anything.
It's light and it works- simple as that. With proper laying techniques, this jacket is the last step to all day dryness.

Love this jacket. 3 days after I got it I wore It in an all day rain in the drift boat and stayed dry and comfortable. I usually hate hoods, but this one works great, I don't understand the d rings at the hem, but that is a question not a complaint, as this is a great piece of gear.

Awesome jacket. My biggest complaint with rain jackets is how hot I get wearing them, the pit vents on this jacket are great. It's the perfect jacket for the southeast. This is my first Simms product and won't be my last.

My biggest problem with most rain jackets is how hot they get, the pit vents in this thing are awesome. I love this jacket, perfect for the south east.
This is my first Simms product, they have my loyalty now.

The jacket is great. I don't doubt that it does everything it is advertised to do. The pit zips are nice, especially if you keep both zippers at the bottom of the zipper - it is mildly uncomfortable to keep them up under your armpits.
My only issue is the sizing. I'm 6'3 220 (and don't necessarily have the body of an NFL linebacker with the same height and weight) , so I ordered an XL and noticed that I have so much extra room around my waist/midsection/chest that it looks sort of goofy. I have experienced the same sizing issue with my G3: there's just too much material, which makes the jacket look either really wide or baggy. I might try a large instead of an XL

Love the pit zips and being able to dump unwanted heat when hiking in on a gloomy rainy day. Build the pit zips into a G4 fabric and you have a real winner...Pit zips are the best because it allows you to wear your jacket on a day that has scattered showers in the forecast without the need of you taking it off when its not raining and then having to put it back on when it does. This really shows to me that Simms development team understands that gear needs to meet varied conditions and to perform as intended. Thanks, I know the thought of why it is a product in your line-up and appreciate this piece of gear. Like I said, build the pit zips into a G4 fabric and you really have a winner...

Really need to add a XXXL to your lineup. Us big guys like to fish and stay dry too. Maybe next year, huh?

Good product for protection for the rain and wind. I love the color and the Gore tex. The only dowsize is that I dont like the way you hide the hood just with a tiny velcro pad, there are better raincoats for that. And also I believe there was no need to have the zippers all the way to the armpits. The zipper is a bit unconfurtable under the armpits. The rest is great.

Much appreciated Nassim. We have passed your feedback to the product development team.
