  1. Not durable but they keep hands dry

    40%

Have a cut in them from my fishing line after 2 hours of use. Hands were dry before the cut. Wish they were a little more durable.
  2. Almost great rowing glove

    60%

Needed a good rowing glove for winter Steelhead. While on the sticks these are sweet. Pulling a soaked anchor rope when it’s 0-30 degrees all day stinks. Use to carry many gloves and just change out throughout the day...not anymore. Plen
  3. Almost perfect boatman glove

    80%

Been looking for a durable waterproof glove while on the sticks during winter steelhead. I was continually swapping gloves or letting them get soaked before, not anymore. Although my hands fall into the XL dimensions, these suckers are VERY tight. Hoping they stretch. Would be five stars if they were larger or true to size measurements on size chart. Go a size bigger and if you are really a XL size be prepared for a really tight fit. They are really warm and comfy while on the oars...and pulling anchor with a soaked and reezing rope. In addition, thought they would work great for handling fish too but they do not. To my surprise, trying to hold and release fish while on, is quite difficult. Great for the fish but take off one for tailing or use a different glove or mesh for hassle free and quick release!!!
  4. Great Glove

Only glove I have had over 40 years of fishing that work for fly fishing, only problem is size XL still a little small.
  5. Skeena Glove

The biggest problem I had is the size, if you are ordering them order a size larger if you want them to fit correctly.
  6. Great for everything but fly fishing!

    80%

I bought these to go fly fishing in Alaska. They kept my hands warm and dry, the only issue is the palms are so "sticky" that I had a good bit of trouble with letting stripping the line. Obviously fingerless gloves would have worked better for that application.

I also did a good bit of fishing with a spinning rig. The gloves were great for that except on a run away I grabbed for the reel and the line cut right through the index finger glove and into my finger. One one hand, the glove probably saved my finger, but now I have little use for what is left of the glove.

    Warm, dry, tight fit.
  7. Decent glove when temps are around 60 ℉

These gloves performed well for me during early fall steelhead season, but here on the east coast winter came quick and painfully. These aren't the most durable gloves either, they tore at the junction of the left pointer and middle finger.
  8. Waterproof and warm

    80%

I had gotten these gloves for guiding the Naknek in Alaska during the cold and rainy mornings while running a jet boat up the river. They kept my hands bone dry and warm against the spray and the Palm grip was perfect for operating the throttle! Matched with the elastic cuffs on my G3 jacket the waterproofness was perfect. I did have a hard time trying to tail large bows, however and thought the gloves were best used for wearing while operating my boat and not so much with landing fish...
  9. Love them

    100%

Love these gloves. Fast delivery everything that I wanted. Thank you.
  10. Amazing

    100%

These gloves are amazing. Comfortable, warmer than should be expected, wind and water impervious. I bought them mostly for rowing my drift boat when cold winter wind would otherwise make my hands freeze. Out of all the gloves I have ever tried, these are by far the best. They also leave plenty of dexterity in the fingers to fish things out of the boat bag or coat pockets without removing them. The gasket on the wrist seems best next to skin, but the description seems to indicate they should go over coat cuffs. I wouldn't have guessed that because the gaskets are so snug I assume it would be a difficult fit, but I'll give it a shot. The kid at the outdoors store where I bought them said they are his favorite glove for surfing in the winter. I am sure they are perfect for that and many other uses.
  11. the jury is still out........

    80%

The gloves are very waterproof, but my hands still ended up cold at the first river not sure if they just haven't broken in to my hands yet or what but it's not a good day when you put your fingerless gloves on to warm up from your waterproof ones....
  12. Great Gloves For a Great Price

    100%

I've used these gloves in very cold conditions ice fishing as well as fly fishing the Colorado high country. The gloves are totally waterproof when I tuck them into my waterproof North Face and made a day that I was sick out on the water much less miserable than had I had cold hands. I would recommend this to any friend--there's a lot of value here along with quality and technology deserving of the SIMMS brand name.
  13. Gloves are garbage

    20%

Bought these gloves last week so when I am fly fishing in northeast Ohio during the cold weather months my hands would stay warm and dry but not the case. The temp was 37 degrees and my hands were freezing all day and when I put my hand in the water to handle a steelhead I realized there was a leak in between the middle and ring finger. On top of that your hands cannot breathe and will sweat which makes them even more cold. You better off not even wearing them. The more Simms gear I buy I realize its all junk and your just buying the name. There is a lot better quality products on the market for half the price as Simms. Don't expect to stay warm and dry if you buy these gloves. And since I assumed I was getting quality gloves I threw the receipt out and the piece of crap Backpackers shop would not exchange them for me. Stick with Gortex gloves much better quality.
  14. waterproof, yes

    40%

Hard to put on and take off.. not a below freezing piece of clothing.. waterproof , yes..cuff, too tight
These gloves have their place, but overall, not worth the price.
