A fully considered update to one of the most capable, comfortable wading boots in the Simms line, the new Flyweight® Boot is a balanced blend of lightweight, travel-ready performance, grippy Vibram® traction, and the kind of no-quit durability that gets it done.

Durable and lightweight, TPU-based synthetic woven upper material
Molded, rubber toe wrap and abrasion panels protect against wear and tear
Lace-up closure with reinforced eyelets
High cushion dual-density EVA midsole for comfort and stability
Vibram® Idrogrip with Traction Lug outsole optimizes stability while walking and wading in water

Here are some general guidelines for selecting what's best for your wading needs:

Cleats offer a larger surface area for overall slip resistance and are suitable for Vibram or rubber outsoles. Simms offers Alumabite (softer, molds better) and Hardbite (carbide construction, more durable with textured overlays for penetration) cleats.
Studs are recommended for slippery moss, algae, or slime as they penetrate the material to grip the substrate beneath. They are also the only option for felt outsoles. Simms provides studs specific to rubber/Vibram and felt outsoles.

"Paired this boot with the Korker’s neoprene socks sz M. Recently did 5 days in the Sierras hiking and fly fishing to test these out. Freestone water and lots of big smooth boulders. Spent a lot of time in the water and hiking, and have to say these are incredible boots. We’ll see how long they hold up, but they grip fantastic on dry boulders, slip around a bit on wet slimy bottom rock as one would expect are super lightweight, drain very well and are super comfortable. Wanted to keep wearing them around camp after fishing. They also dry out fairly quickly. Pretty impressed so far."
