Wolves of the River - A Bull Trout Film

Just an hour north of Vancouver, BC, the Squamish River winds through a glacial valley carved out over the past eleven thousand years. It’s an angler’s paradise and a vital ecosystem. Home to 4 species of Pacific salmon as well as steelhead, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and the often-misunderstood bull trout, this watershed is unlike anywhere else on the West Coast.

The bull trout, in particular, has a complicated history. Across much of North America, its numbers have declined dramatically. Yet here in the Squamish, this elusive predator continues to hold on. Why? What makes this watershed different? And why does the future of bull trout conservation matter so much?

In Wolves of the River, we dive into these questions, exploring the science, the stories, and the passion of those working to protect this incredible fish.
