The All-New Fall Run — Reinventing a Simms Classic

The All-New Fall Run — Reinventing a Simms Classic The All-New Fall Run — Reinventing a Simms Classic

Some gear earns its place because it works. It gets thrown in the truck, stuffed into boat compartments, jammed under waders, layered beneath bibs, and worn long after the fishing day ends. Fall Run has been that piece for anglers for years.

But "tried and true" isn't an excuse to leave well enough alone.

The new Fall Run Collection keeps everything that made the original a staple and rethinks the parts that could be better—from the insulation to the fabric to the way it's stitched together.

Let's start with the quilting.

If you paid attention in math class, you might remember the Fibonacci sequence—a pattern found throughout nature, from pinecones to seashells. If you didn't, don't worry. The important part is this: instead of the traditional square quilting, Fall Run now uses a Fibonacci-inspired pattern that gives the collection a cleaner, more modern look while staying rooted in the natural world anglers spend their time chasing. It's subtle. Different enough to notice. Purposeful enough to belong.

The bigger story is what's inside.

Previous generations relied on PrimaLoft® Black Eco insulation. It got the job done. The new Fall Run steps up to PrimaLoft® RISE, a high-loft insulation built to capture more warmth without adding unnecessary bulk. It has the visual loft and resilience people associate with down, but it keeps performing when conditions get damp—because fish don't care if the forecast missed.

Even better, the insulation is mapped where it matters. The jackets place 60 grams of PrimaLoft RISE through the core and hood, where your body needs warmth most, while trimming the sleeves back to 40 grams to reduce bulk and keep your casting, rowing, and layering unrestricted. The vest carries 60 grams through the core, delivering warmth without turning every movement into a wrestling match with your clothing system.

That same thinking extends to the shell.

The new matte-finish exterior brings a fresh look, but it isn't just about appearance. The refined fabric offers improved abrasion resistance when worn beneath waders, bibs, or your favorite shell, standing up to the friction that comes with long days on the water. A durable water-repellent finish sheds light moisture, while PrimaLoft RISE continues insulating even when things get wet.

The result is a piece that somehow avoids extremes. Rarely too much jacket. Rarely too little. It lives comfortably in that sweet spot that makes it one of the most versatile insulated pieces you can own.

Cold mornings on the drift boat. Windy afternoons on the flats. Late-season trout. Early waterfowl scouting. A chilly walk to grab coffee before daylight. Fall Run doesn't ask you to change your plans or your layering system—it fits into both.

The collection now spans hooded jackets, jackets, and vests for both men and women, with the same updated insulation package, refined matte exterior, and thoughtful mapping throughout. Whether you're looking for a dedicated mid-layer under a shell or a standalone piece that earns its keep well beyond fishing season, there's a Fall Run built for it.

One thing that hasn't changed? Sustainability remains part of the package. The shell fabric and PrimaLoft RISE insulation are made from 100% recycled materials, proving you don't have to sacrifice performance to make better choices.

Even classics evolve. In the case of Fall Run, anglers will feel that evolution the moment they put it on.
